I have a question. Abbott says he will do away with the carbon tax. Does that include an ETS?

The heat is on the sane to keep the insane at bay and every year it gets harder as more sane join the insane.

Yep .... his alternative is Direct Action, we pay the big polluters our tax dollars and hope they put the money towards reducing emissions. |

Okay.....I like the strategy set out in the OP. Rudd can do some tweaking and then wedge Abbott in a special sitting which would only be called if Rudd knew exactly how the sticks will fall. Take the carbon tax 'weapon' away from Abbott. Then what has he got? |

A direct action policy is economically retarded. |

Abbott seems to be deliberately ambiguous about this. Which means he knows he will never be able to abolish carbon pricing, so if in the unlikely event that he becomes PM - he will simply keep Gillard's policy but remove the fixed-price period and claim to have abolished "The Great Big Tax" Which is bizarre - since Abbott also referred to Rudd's original ETS as a "Great Big Tax"...Not sure Tony has any clue about what he is doing. Thank goodness his days as Liberal leader are now numbered. Malcolm will bring some sense back. |
