FFS, all the major TV stations stopped everything to report on this event. They were all running live coverage with a banner at the bottom saying "Brisbane under siege" or "Brisbane mall siege" etc. Even when the others went back to regular programming (before it was over) ABC 24 was still following it non stop.
The reality is that it was mostly a nonevent, and the massive police reaction to it was the only thing making it a big story. That's not to say it was not news, but Brisbane was hardly under siege, hence why the other channels gave up after a short while when they realized it was not a "stop everything" news event. Instead, it was just a random nut who fired a gun in a mall area without hitting anyone, and if the police wanted to use lethal force they could have taken him down at anytime. Hardly a major city under siege. |

FFS. Seven, Nine, ABC. All three were showing it live as it happened. As I said in my first post only ABC stayed with it, the others giving up when it was obvious that it was not a 'stop all programming' type event. This is why every thread becomes about you. Here we have members saying that they watched it live on TV, yet still you insist that it was never shown on any channel at the time of the event. This will be another 10 pages of you calling people trolls because they had the audacity to add information to the topic that you don't believe. |

Wow - look @ the troll. You have to have the last word dont you even when we are basically agreeing you have to do it. Gawd. So they stopped. Obviously wasnt live coverage then. Thats why ppl in other states hadnt heard about it.
