Title: Mathieson joke pounced upon

Where will it end?
So now all asians are supposed to be offended at a simple harmless joke are they?

On the positive side, it may raise more awareness for the need for prostate checks, but sacrificing our sense of humour ain't the way to do it.  >:(

It's not exactly funny, but I just don't believe anyone is "outraged." Sad that both sides of politics are now playing the faux-outrage game at every single innocuous comment.  Unless we want to live in a sterile, humour-free polcie state, we must give the big finger to anybody who feigns offence at such trivial matters.

When he is questioned on his comments, he should say, "No, I wasn't insinuating that asian women have small fingers, I was insinuating that you might get a special with the examination".
Don't be so anal about it.

I s'pose I wouldn't last long in the political arena  ;D

Would the reaction be the same if Abbott or Katter made that stupid comment?

Who's reaction? Mine or the media and opposition?

I don't think it was a silly joke at all. Let's face it, most (not that there's anything wrong with the rest) blokes aren't too crazy about volunteering for some fat fingered doctor to go probing around their poop chute, so it may as well be joked about.

I doubt if anyone would be "outraged" by this comment.

Tempest in a teapot.

The question was opened to anyone.
But I am sure that there would have been more slagging if TA or BK made the statement.
Timmy should have stuck more to the facts rather than trying to be a comedian. Might work with his girly friend - but not on all of us!!
Anyway, I don't need a hairdresser/barber telling me what I should do!!

I think it's funny, but it was poor taste and should not have been made in a public setting.
