Title: Because Of The Preformance Of Newman Government. Post by imcrookonit on Dec 17th, 2012 at 12:41pm
Half of state less likely to vote LNP: poll. ;D
Date December 16, 2012 Half of Queenslanders are less likely to vote for the LNP in the federal election next year because of the performance of the Newman Government, new polling shows. ;D The ReachTEL poll, commissoned by Channel 7, surveyed 1134 people on Friday night and asked, ‘‘Has the performance of the Newman State Government made you more or less likely to vote for the LNP at the upcoming Federal election?’’ It found 50.5 per cent of people were less likely to vote for the LNP federally, while 31 per cent were more likely and 18.5 per cent said it would not affect their vote. In October, when asked the same question, 45.1 per cent of people said they would likely not vote for the LNP federally because of the performance of the state government. Support for Katter’s Australian Party has also climbed from 8.9 per cent to 12.1 per cent a few weeks after their ranks were bolstered by MP Ray Hopper, who defected from the LNP last month. :) KAP does not seem to be chipping away at LNP support, though, with the numbers for the state government remaining steady at 41.9 per cent. The last ReachTEL poll, conducted on November 23 had support for the LNP at 42 per cent. The Labor party has taken a dip in the polls with support down from 34.2 per cent last month to 32.1 per cent. Labor recorded their highest polling since the election in September when 34.7 per cent of respondents said the party would receive their first preference if an election were called that day. Mr Newman’s personal approval rating has risen along with his disapproval rating, while Opposition Leader Annastacia Palaszczuk is facing ambivalence, with 32.9 per cent of respondents saying they were ‘‘indifferent’’ to the job she was doing. Of those polled, 38.2 per cent think Mr Newman is going a good or very good job, while 51 per cent believe he is doing a poor or very poor job. :) Both numbers are up on last month’s poll, which found 36.2 per cent of respondents thought Mr Newman was doing a good or very good job and 47.8 per cent believed he was doing a poor or very poor job. As for Ms Palaszczuk, 27.9 per cent of respondents believe she is doing a good or very good job, 29.5 per cent believe she is doing a poor or very poor job and 9.7 per cent do not know who she is. When quizzed about the polling numbers on Sunday morning, Mr Newman said his government had made ‘‘hard but important’’ decisions for Queensland and that state was beginning to see the positive results of those. The automated phone-based ReachTEL poll had a stated margin of error of 2.9 per cent, with the results weighted by gender and age to reflect the voting population. That's funny, lefties on here were saying earlier in the year that federal and state elections had no mutual implications.

great man campbell.
doesnt need a think tank, a community consensus forum or a poll to make a decision. that sort of sums up what a leader should be. do whats right, not whats popular. |

Whilst being a dictator is good for him, while he can get away with it, which won't be for long, it's not good for the people of Queensland. They have made that quite clear according to the poll results. He's a one term leader. The results of the next election will be similar to the results of the last one. The incumbent will get annihilated. |

not all spoilt children like a stern parent or headmaster. many prefer a stupid parent they can extort for treats. but people grow to respect firm discipline and good leadership. campbell will rule until his move to the lodge. |

Agreed. The last newspoll was 60-40 to the LNP. This indicates that they will lose, and lose heavily. |

Funny how so many people still want to see QLD end up like Greece and Spain, and Australia for that matter, you'd expect a few nuts down down at the asylum to be sad at seeing the back of that appalling state wrecker Bligh but its more widespread than that, I think its in a leftys DNA to destroy, thats their lot in life, forgive them as they know not what they do :(
