Title: Are the mods afraid of the truth?
Post by John Smith on Oct 31st, 2012 at 8:56pm
I started a thread earlier asking for an explanation for being banned .. It is the second time in two weeks and I've no idea why. I think it is only fair that a reason be given so that I may modify my behaviour. Rather than give me a reason, the mods have locked the thread so nobody can post on it. Are they afraid of criticism? Surely it would be a simple to just tell me why I was banned?

I have read peoples claims that it has nothing to do with political persuasion, but I find that hard to believe given the decision to lock the thread rather than give a reason ..... with power comes responsibility ... why don't the mods act responsibly instead of trying to restrict free speech

But are you a person who believes in, and who respects, reason and reasonableness ???

Or is 'reason' only 'entertained' by you [when debating with others], within, and only on, your own terms ?

FD says it best here

John, you really do need to realise what the rules state. There has been many times you have made direct profane insults to other people, me being one of them.

With that said, it looks like the advise from FD to go over your recent posts, is the explanation you require. Just not an explanation directly to the offensive post.

I dont think you need any further correspondence from FD if you would look at the rules and your recent posts.

Coming here requesting this information is also in violation of the rules if I am not mistaken, going by the link provided.

I haven't had any correspondence from FD, and to be fair, I'm not even sure it was he who banned me ...

telling me to go back over my posts is a cop out ... and trying to make it a rule that one can't even ask why? bugger me, where are we? Nazi Germany? Do I have to hail Hitler when I log on too?

I don't think its unreasonable for him to give reasons for banning people.

As for my posts to you, you and many others on here insult others too, if he banned people for that just about everyone would be banned ... I've even seen him refer to spot as stupid .. why is that not an insult?

It would be the difference between saying 'you are stupid' compared to 'you are the biggest f n stupid idiot' ect.

The profanity, the directness of it counts.

not according to his rules ....

It is not in his rules to follow every thread, every post either. Most people are not too worried about being called stupid, but I guess if you notified a mod that you think it is against the rules and that you are offended, then I guess something might happen. Thats assuming it is against the rules.

On the other hand, if there is profanity and directness, then people are more likely to report it. So it is more against the rules of the people and gets them reporting.

John, stick to your guns mate. I've been banned 3 times since I've been here (not long only seems like yesterday) but I believe that my bannings were simply because I pissed off these fascist right wing prick underlings. they can hurl it, but give a little back and they run to the 'button'. FD is to busy most of the time either killing poor innocent fish or dreaming about it.
I wouldn't expect too much sense from these mentally challenged clowns.
I plan to post often over the coming days, so if I am absent it will be my 4th ban. on the bright side it sure gives me street cred.

So it is more against the rules of the people and gets them reporting.

why are you commenting on something you have no idea about ? Unless you know why I was banned?

I am surprised you dont know. I have been around long enough to know the profanity and directness of some of your posts. Like I said, I cop it from you. Have I reported you for it. Dam straight.

Did I get you banned. No you did.

I bet you run and report every time someone says something you don't like ....  your that type of person ...

Lately yes. But it takes a certain kind of profanity and directness to get me to bother.

Well, personally, I'd like to know why, were I to be 'sin-binned'.

How can you avoid a repeat if you don't know what you've done wrong?

When modding, I ALWAYS warn by PM first, then if I 'sin-bin' them, they
are in no doubt as to why....

When modding, I ALWAYS warn by PM first, then if I 'sin-bin' them, they
are in no doubt as to why....

I used to mod an immigration forum many years ago ... same thing, we gave warning and then if they were banned they were made aware of the reasons why ... its such a cop out to say 'go back over your threads' ....... it leaves the system open to abuse .

Seriously this is pathetic.

Is there such little going on in your life that being banned from an online forum or why is that big a deal?

Who gives a bugger. Move on or bugger off.

This forum is deteriorating, it used to be that you got a warning before getting banned, that's what the rules stated anyway. You used to have to break one or more of the rules or the terms of service to be banned, now you just get banned because...............................someone doesn't like you.

For a political forum it wreaks of undemocratic behaviour.

What a pack of sooks, Ive been banned a few times and I dont really care.

Take a look at the two main whingers here - Spot/Magpie with 48 posts daily, and John with his 24.

Do you really have that much to contribute, I dont think so.

It's not deteriorating at all. It's because you have a morbid and pessimistic outlook on life that makes you see 'deterioration' everywhere.
The forum's the same as it's always been since I've been here (with the exception of one poster).

Do not send and email asking why you were suspended. Do not create additional profiles to circumvent suspension. Wait until your suspension is removed, then view your recent posts. It should be obvious why you were susended. In 95% of cases it is for insulting other members. Please take the opportunity to learn from your mistake. What a pack of sooks, Ive been banned a few times and I dont really care.

Take a look at the two main whingers here - Spot/Magpie with 48 posts daily, and John with his 24.

Do you really have that much to contribute, I dont think so.

well whoop de doo for you, like you ever contribute anything worthwhile ... try getting a life instead of counting everyones posts ....

It's not exactly hard to see, you don't need to count. It's written there.

Spot posts 1,500 per month.
This fact combined with how big a deal it is to him if he is unable to post - suggests he has very little life outside the internet.

The fact he is in his 50s and lives with a flatmate and likes Star Trek aside...
;)

actually its a bit more complecated .. you have to look for the date they started and then go to the trouble of doing the sums .... talk about suggestions, only a sad case with no life would care enought to bother with how often others post ....

Well i dont know if john works or not and i dont care. Why do you care?

I also had you in mind. The fact that you just did more post in 4 minutes on this thread than I do in a day only backs up that idea.

Really scraping the barrel bottom now arent you. Lunchtime.

Do you have anything to say on topic? I havent seen you refer to the topic @ all in this thread. The topic (since you prolly didnt even look) is john wants to know why he was banned and thinks its only fair that when someone is banned they should be told why so they can refrain from doing whatever it was again.

Oh and BTW why are you here during the day?

SOB

Actually when I looked at the topic this morning it was started by you. It seems to have been merged with John's thread from yesterday.

Nope still says john. You should get off the hallucinogens

there, does that feel better?

I wonder how a mod made the connection between you two?

As I was told, it is the fact that they have got the same IP Address, hence why Perceptions made the obvious remark that it is the same person.

You'll come across many obstacles in your struggle to let the truth be known. The "war on truth" is spreading  globally. As more truth gets revealed, the
harder the truth soldiers will hit. Dark forces detest truth.

The truth always comes out in the end though. We are only now discovering true events from WWII.

Spot, I went to a lecture once, where the the topic was "How to separate the knuckle scrapers from humans". Read knuckle scrapers as righties.
All you have to do is call, "Bananas! Bananas." And they will be all over you in a flash. Leave your wallet and jewelry in a safe place before you call though.

They are so boring that no one reads them.

Then FD'd have to ban Light as well, his posts are about 10 times as long as Yadda's..

not even in the same league. Howard was reporting what he was told - nothing more. the carbon tax promise however was told to EVERYBODY and then reneged on mere days after the election.

Bullshit. He knew he was lying and he lied because he was (and still is) a lying lair. He cant do ANYTHING without lying. I was once on a plane arriving in canberra and he was onboard. Just because he wanted to get off first and he was up the back they LIED and said that if the back ppl didnt get off first the plane would tip over! You could hear the muffled laughter go through the plane. He just had to lie.

Howard travelled between canberra and sydney by RAAF jet - not commercial. And i doubt he has travelled cattel class in many decades. So no, I dont beleive your story. it is a lie.

If this the famous quote where Spot of Magpie said howard rode in a F1-11!

Don't care... Because what you have found is even better! Good work!

Quote:
I was once on a plane arriving in canberra and he was onboard. Just because he wanted to get off first and he was up the back they LIED and said that if the back ppl didnt get off first the plane would tip over!

So Spot, did Howard himself come down the plane telling everyone this? Did he go to the captains cockpit and demand he get off first for this reason? This is meant to be an example of his lies isn't it?

Did you really think anyone would belive this bullshit story? Even if Howard was on the same plane as you (that itself is the biggest give away. How could you ever afford a plane ticket?) he would not need any cover story to let him off first. Security would be a big enough reason as to why he should be let off first. Important business would be another. Most likely they wouldn't even say he was on the plane, and the head air hostess would just ask people to stay on board for a few minutes due to delays at the gate.

To sum up;
1) There was no chance he was riding in the back of a commercial plane. That is a lie.
2) If he ever did travel in one for whatever reason, they would not need to make up some bullshit story to get him off first. That is another lie of yours.
3) You're a smacking muppet, and that is no lie.

not even in the same league.

SOB

Howard travelled between canberra and sydney by RAAF jet - not commercial. And i doubt he has travelled cattel class in many decades. So no, I dont beleive your story. it is a lie.

[quote]I was once on a plane arriving in canberra and he was onboard.

To sum up;
1) There was no chance he was riding in the back of a commercial plane. That is a lie.
2) If he ever did travel in one for whatever reason, they would not need to make up some bullshit story to get him off first. That is another lie of yours.
3) You're a smacking muppet, and that is no lie.

Who did i say lied? THEY. Yeah the staff.

What do you think of the filthy right wing knuckle draggers annexing Australia just to keep poor brown boat people out? :-/

And your point is?
My point is as it is evolving from the correct side of the political fence:
"You can't handle the truth".

Oh look, it's the thing that sponges of it's parents still.

Tell me sponge, do you think it was cool that the right wing knuckle draggers annexed OZ to keep out brown boat people?

Hey old man, chill out. The war is over and the Americans lost. Oh, not enough info? The Vietnamese won. You can come 'home' now. I hope they took your rifle off you when you were demobbed.
People your age generally get anxious because they can't get it..
nm I sure you have all the mags.
There are no boat people only political refugees. Your side were playing politics so hard you lost sight of the forest and the trees, and any idea of compassion and humanity.
I expect nothing but that type of crap from you fascist pigs.

The conclusion that comes from what you said is that Howard traveled by commercial jet because the F111 he normally travels on was being repaired. You did not directly say that he does travel by F111, but by saying he traveled by Qantas because a F111 was being repaired it certainly implies that he normally does travel by F111 in the context of the conversation.

How can you now call people liars for coming to that conclusion? Saying that a random F111 was being repaired has no bearing on the conversation, unless you were suggesting that is why he had to go commercial because his regular F111 was not available. There is no other reason to mention it in the context of the conversation.

Reading in only half the battle. It requires you to write in plain English as well.

If I said that I drove to Canberra in a rented Mitsubishi when my Toyota was being serviced, then the natural assumption one would make is that had by Toyota been available I would have gone in that. Had I said I drove to Canberra in a rented Mitsubishi during the time of the Japanese earthquake, then it is clear I am only giving a time frame. There is nothing implied in the comment.

Had you said Howard flew to Canberra in a Qantas plan around the time of (for example) the Indonesian Tsunami, then it would only be a time frame you gave. But saying he flew to Canberra when the F111 was being repaired implies it was because his regular plane (the F111) was not available. After all, F111's are worked on all the time. Using the word "that" before mentioning a F111 was being repaired, again suggest something special about this particular plane.

Stop calling people liars, word twisters, misquoters, or other comments, simply because you refuse to take responsibility for your poor use of words.

What the hell are you going on about? I have been on this forum for nearly as long as you have. Unless it is you who is a sock and you have actually been here for longer than your "Spot of Borg" account has been...

As for this situation, I am going off your quotes. What you said implied that Howard went by commercial jet because the F111 was being repaired. You may not have meant that, but it is an obvious conclusion from what you said. Calling anyone a liar for taking what you said to mean just that is ridiculous. If you didn't mean what you wrote then that is fine, and you have since explained what you actually meant. There is nothing wrong with giving clarification, but accusing other of lying because of your poorly worded post is wrong.

No you are doing it again. I never said "because". That is a word you keep inserting to make it sound like you have a point which you dont.

You remember the conversation we had when you reckoned you were "new" and you said i was "insulting you" when you :"first joined" and it was after the f111 incident.

Nice try spot. Caught being wrong again, so you play the "sock" card.

I have already said that you did not say that Howard travelled in a F111. What I have said is that you used a poor choice or words that implied that he did. You clarified what you meant and I did not take issue with that. But as always you're not paying attention, so you go for the sock attack.

All churches will be worried. Once a Royal Commission starts, the proverbial can of worms will be opened.....one investigation leads to another. You, wesley and verge are worried, it shows.

Hardly, pansi. Firstly, there is no royal commission nor will there be. Secondly, why should I worry? or have you still nto worked out that I am not even remotely Catholic?

Maybe there will be a royal commission into pedophilia in the Greens and Labor. After all, there is plenty of evidence for that PLUS the requisite cover-up.

pansi, again, and you are more intelligent than spot, so i will direct it to you.

the vast vast OVERWHELMING majority of child sexual abuse in australia is carried out within the home by a relative or close family friend.

all that is needed to solve the church deviants is to enforce the law.  we dont need a royal comission to do that.

Why am I worried?  First Ive heard of this because I personally have nothing invested in it.

I personally disappointed you have said that pansi because you asked me very clearly and directly if I supported a royal commission into this and I answered with a one word answer - yes.  There was no conditions, no but's in my answer, a flat and straight out yes.

For you to say Im "worried" shows you are fast to lump people into boxes to suit your agenda.

the only small problem is that they could confess to the kennedy assasination.

At the same time, I am rather keen on retaining our 'guilty beynod reasonable doubt' evidence-based judicial system.

The problem with the hindering of prosecution by the church is that in a lot of cases they are bound by the sactionity of the confession

They don't write this stuff down, so conducting raids is fruitless

Don't you think if they thought raids would produce something they would conduct them

Sexual assume leaves no paper trail, raids are worthless in these investigations

They raid them because they leave a trail. Most happen because of Internet investigations as this appears their method of getting the pictures.

If they had the evidence they would raid

You can't just raid someone because of their profession, and the ones under intense investigation have been

You sound like your on a witch hunt and want the coppers to raid every church

I don't see why they woe raid their church when the offending material would more than likely be in their homes
