Title: Quantum Leap Post by Spot of Borg on Oct 29th, 2012 at 2:05pm
Just finished watching the series. It was strange but then it was the early 80s so I guess you have to expect that. The plot was alright but they couldn't figure out the science and so blamed it all on "god".
Anyone else watched it? SOB |

Never seen the show, however, I do know that one of the stars was a very popular child actor.
He was in that old movie that the ABC always used to show on Saturday afternoons: 'The Boy With The Green Hair'. I think they aired it on Christmas Day last year. Enough useless trivia. |

used to watch it on telly years ago...was OK... had some good storylines....
that actor is called..... oh oh the old grey cells,..... not Roddy McDowall but ??? jeez... he was well-known ... a child actor who kept getting parts as he got older... oh its so close... >> bet I'll remember some time in the early a.m. :P ..keep getting the name Martin ...but thats not right. ANYHOW heheee talking about a Quantum Leap... ::) ::) ::) biggest joke of the movies so far this year??IMO and one I will definitely not see..... is the leap taken by whoever cast Tom Cruise as 'Jack Reacher' ....wtf?? ;D ;D ;D Must have had a 'brain attack' ..or Scientologists own the rights.!! :D I have done nothing but shake my head in disbelief whenever I remember this... ;D... I mean, for one very significant thing... JR is 6ft 5 :o NOT 5ft 6 ;D Still I'd recommend the books by Lee Child, if you're into that sort of thing.. not the best anti-hero.... but pretty darn close... is Jack Reacher. |

I once met Scott Bakula whilst he was doing a movie in California. He seemed to be a really nice bloke.
I hung around for hours to be an extra in the movie and ended up on the cutting room floor :( I shoulda told him that aussies pick their nose and scratch their nuts a lot ;D The movie was well beneath my standard anyway ;) |

so anyway did you see
on ABC late movies, the other night.. BW umm Long Days Journey Into Night... um that may have been the title..... :-? Don't make movies like that anymore Dean Stockwell, the youngest son.. Jason Robards, the wastrel older son. Katherine Hepburn, the morphine-addicted mother .. and ?? the father.. .....the males were all big-time alcoholics, and the theme...... a seriously dysfunctional family with a sad history ...and the consequences of one's actions... a small setting.. intense and quite compelling performances, Recommended |

ahhh SOB , do you mean you have never seen the v.old TV series, produced in the UK ...'The Avengers'??
You are a young'un.. :) Yes Emma Peel is one of the two principal characters, in the Avengers... a couple of sanctioned 'agents' who tackled the weirdest cases.... John Steed ..he of the Bowler Hat and deadly umbrella... and Emma Peel, his karate-chopping, nerves of steel , partner . They decimated the baddies for the greater good of the British Empire. It was filmed back in the 60's/70's and was a program I adored as a pre-teen. Verry trippy.!! Just look at the gear Emma wears..!! WOW. :) And the classic cars they drive. She -- played by a young and gorgeous Diana Rigg, wasn't the first side-kick of Steed. Before her, there was Honor Blackman.. can't remember her 'name', I was just a wee thing... and ..after Rigg.. at least 1 other but I think 2 followed up. I remember only Linda Thorson. NEVER recovered after Diana Rigg moved on to bigger and better things. . It didn't last long after Diana left, but it was surely great when Rigg and .... Patrick MacNee ... played Emma Peel and John Steed. AND BEST of all .. it has been playing on late night TV on 9 I think , in Qld . Camp.. funny... timeless, and yet incredibly dated. A real cack.!!!! ;D ;D ;D |
