Given that Catholic Priests are a subset of Australian males if fair to assume a similar % of males in general are similarly disposed! And consequently a similar % of Police, School Teachers and Politicians.

Sorry! they can't all be tarred with the same brush, that's why the Catholic Church is the one facing a possible royal enquiry. It is endemic within the Catholic Church and to a lesser degree the other Christian denominations.
That's not to say there isn't paedophilia present in other areas, but not to the same degree. One in 20 priests, not butchers, bakers or candlestick makers. |

Why? Because you havent yet seen it in the newspaper? , that's why the Catholic Church is the one facing a possible royal enquiry. It is endemic within the Catholic Church and to a lesser degree the other Christian denominations. That degree is an unknown quantity and pretending otherwise is plain silly! There is no reason to think that unless the RCC actively recruits pedophiles that they would have any higher % than any other group. They might but unless you can give some evidence to that effect you cant really talk about it! That's not to say there isn't paedophilia present in other areas, but not to the same degree. Really You want to compare groups like Afghani Males or Private School Teachers and see if it isnt 1 in 20 or better? If there is a difference between one group and another its probably because those groups offer better availability to "talent" than others and so attract people predisposed to pedophilia! One in 20 priests, not butchers, bakers or candlestick makers. Dont bet on it |

Let's start with a royal enquiry into the Catholic church, then other denominations/religions, then bakers and school teachers.
Although there doesn't seem to be the same level of protection within other groups, so maybe we can leave them out of the enquiry. They have no cloaks to hide behind, some don't even have a god of their choosing to forgive them. I wonder why the Catholic church was chosen as the one most needy of a Royal Enquiry? |

This is a non argument because the real issue here is the covering up, not the amount of pedos. Also, professions like being a priest attract a large number of pedos like flys to shyt so they are going to have a greater concentration. If you were a pedo would you get a job where you'll get protected from prosecution and moved around constantly for fresh victims or one where your likely to get caught? Most pedos "groom" their victims, in the case of being a religious icon of the community priests don't have to do much grooming which is a huge benefit for them. Something that most pedos would understand cause they are calculated phukers. |

Why are Catholics worse if they are? Celibacy would be the most likely culprit followed by Catholic families having more children hence a greater access of little bums to root, add the whole catholic guilt, Papal Infalability and tendency to melieve the church knows best! It would be interesting to find the breakdown of boys and girls or both raped by each denomination of religious dicks! |

The NSW government must start to be transparent and call a Royal Commission today. What are they afraid of? that politicians will be exposed as well as clergy?
................................................................... Police officer challenges NSW Premier Barry O'Farrell for inquiry into abuse by clergy A SENIOR police investigator has publicly challenged NSW Premier Barry O'Farrell to launch a royal commission into child sex abuse by clergy, saying the premier is lucky his own children haven't become victims too. Detective Chief Inspector Peter Fox, who has investigated clergy abuse around Newcastle for decades, wrote an open letter to the premier and then criticised the state government's continued failure to launch a judicial inquiry on national television. "We're lucky. We haven't had to go through what some of those other families have gone through," he told ABC's Lateline last night, noting that Mr O'Farrell is the father of two boys. "He has a lot of thanks to give that his boys were never ever abused. ... If he has any compassion and humanity for some of these victims, he's got to turn around (his position)." The comments came after the senior officer published an open letter stating that there are so many NSW sex abuse cases that he's actually lost count. "I can testify from my own experience that the church covers up, silences victims, hinders police investigations, alerts offenders, destroys evidence and moves priests to protect the good name of the church," he wrote in his letter. "Mr O'Farrell, please don't block your ears. Many priests don't want a royal commission, nor does the hierarchy of the church, but God knows we need one." Det Chief Insp Fox said he has "irrefutable" evidence of a cover-up involving a number of diocese bishops. "It potentially goes even higher than that," he told Lateline. http://www.news.com.au/national/officer-challenges-nsw-premier-for-inquiry/story-fndo4eg9-1226513383011 |

I read a study only a few months back, and it stated that in many cases the pedo's are so predispositioned to their illness from an early age in late teens etc (its not something that creeps up on them) that they actually seek employment that will give them access to children, however they do it more sub consciously than consciously. Thats why professions like the preisthood, teachers and youth workers have the highest percentage of abusers from OUTSIDE THE FAMILY. Sadly the family is still the highest percentage of abusers. So if your Uncle is a catholic priest, you fukked. |

Whilst digusting, the church is not the main offender. I want to see the issue tackled as a whole so kids dont have to suffer. You want to use this to carry on your vendetta against the church to feel vindicated. I personally want to see the whole thing worked on so no kid ever has to go through that kind of treatment. Do I support a Royal Commision into the churches activities on this issue - yes. Do I want to see the issue broadened to understand, treat and deal with pedo's before they even offend, more than anything. Typical Nail, all about retirbution as opposed to prevention. |

Surprise! surprise! When God created humans he didn't have it in mind that some of them would put on collars back the front and lead lives of absolute repression.
The Catholic religion is the most anal repressed and totally mind bended Christian religion there is. It goes against all things normal for people to deny their sexuality. Hence the huge problem that is the teachers in the Catholic Church. I'm sure and certain God didn't have that in mind when he created Adam and Eve. |

Title: Re: One in 20 priests an abuser, inquiry told Post by Verge on Nov 12th, 2012 at 3:27pm
And look who is also backing a royal commission.
So what is Gillards problem? Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has declared his support for a "wide-ranging" royal commission into allegations of child sex abuse, but says it should not just focus on claims involving the Catholic Church. His move adds significant pressure on the Prime Minister to establish a national inquiry into explosive allegations by a senior New South Wales police investigator that the church covered up evidence involving paedophile priests. Julia Gillard has not yet said whether she thinks a royal commission is needed, but Mr Abbott has pledged his support if the Government decides to establish such an inquiry. "Wherever abuse has occurred it must be tackled and it must be tackled vigorously, openly and transparently," Mr Abbott said in a statement. "It's clear that for a long period there was insufficient awareness and insufficient vigilance when it came to predatory behaviour by people in positions of authority over children. "Any investigation must be wide-ranging, must consider any evidence of the abuse of children in Australia, and should not be limited to the examination of any one institution. "It must include all organisations, government and non-government, where there is evidence of sexual abuse." Several Labor MPs have publicly declared their support for a nationally constituted royal commission, saying it is the only way to deal with allegations that cross state borders. The New South Wales Government has set up an inquiry in response to the allegations. A separate parliamentary inquiry into church sex abuse is already underway in Victoria. Former prime minister Kevin Rudd says he is "deeply disturbed" by the issue of child abuse, and has indicated his willingness to support a broader inquiry if needed. "If either of these independent inquiries conclude that there is evidence of institutional resistance on the part of the Catholic Church, or that more resources are needed to deal with these matters, then I believe this would constitute a clear case for a national royal commission," he said. "Under any such royal commission, there should be an open examination of what has occurred in the past; what further reforms are necessary for the future as well as addressing the key question of appropriate compensation for victims," he said. |

Yes, because the hierarchy covered up for the offenders. This has been common knowledge within the community for decades. The parishioners should have lobbied the church to take appropriate action. They are all guilty by association because they stood by and did nothing to protect the children. Those few who went against the church and reported certain incidents should be praised. They were mostly the parents of abused children so it would have taken a certain amount of guts to go against the people you trusted. |

And one of the quotes you put up was in reply to you bobby saying if the woman had of known about the events of hundreds of years ago she wouldnt have done it, so the church shouldnt get it. Which once again proved my point, it is irrelevant. And nice work not quoting all of my post you dog. Bobby Wrote - Answering for Nail - True - no dirt on them yet. Didn't you read what I said? Secondly, The Church is the Order of the Capuchin Franciscan Fathers in Australia has had no such allegations you and nail speak of. Just because the Pope has failed to act appropiratley doesnt mean those on the ground floor should suffer. I dont hold all Americans responsible for the actions of George Bush and their government for their actions on Iraq do I. Im not here to question her beliefs, but Italians are pretty religious. If she thought giving her house would benefit others and it got her a gold pass to heaven, good for her, she died happy in her decision. If you show me evidence to suggest she was not of sound mind when making the will, I will happily change my tune, but until then, it is still her asset to do as she wished. How would you feel knowing the will you write means nothing and your wishes wont be carried out, and people will do with your assets however they want. You are restricting peoples free will. That my friend is censorship on life and I will never support that. Also, her kids had flats each and were left $20,000 each, the disabled child was her daughters. These are also facts. The church now has it and they could have easily just walked away like it says in their own bible :( And what can the church offer them apart from an old book full of weasel words and a root up the Khyber Pass ?? That won't pay their high cost of supervision and medical bills for the rest of their life :( |

A another thread of accusing forum members of either hiding pedophiles or supporting them. Difference is that this thread has even gone to the extreme of accusing someone of intentionally giving their own kids to a pedophile to be molested.
I would be shocked if anyone on this forum is ever suspended or banned again. I don't think anything gets below the level of nail and bobby as seen in this thread, so how could anyone from now on be banned for less? It basically means any comment no matter how vile is fair game now. |

The house was never theirs to lose my friend. The only entitlement one should expect is from their own hard work. Did you notice the article at all. And to quote Aussie from the original thread - Quote: Mrs Kolandt and her brother, Giacomo Muto, have launched a Supreme Court action against the religious order, claiming their mother did not make "adequate provision" for them in her will. That means there is no attack on the Mother's testamentary capacity, and no suggestion of other nasty stuff. And freediver - The moral is to tell people what they will get before you die so they can come to terms with it and blame you instead of the other beneficiaries. This sort of squabbling can destroy families. Mellie - A persons last will in testament is their final say in this world, and it should be respected unless of course these children feel she was not of sound mind,(and this can be substantiated) this or suspect foul play at the time she made her will. Times are bad when even your last will and testament isn't worth the paper it's written on... if it turns out this old woman was of sound mind, this and made a conscious decision not to leave her home to her children, irrespective of her reasons this has to be respected. She could have left it to the dog-poop federation and my opinion would be the same. Freediver - Who are you to say who the 'rightful' beneficiaries are? This is where all the problems start, when people think they 'deserve' something they didn't earn. It was her money. It is her choice what happens to it. What I am saying is that it is the old woman's choice. None of these people would have had the balls to stand up to her in real life and tell her she is incapable of deciding for herself who to give her money to. Now she is dead they all act like she didn't have a mind of her own. One thing I know for certain is that you have absolutely no clue what went on in this family and what reasons the lady may have. You are just another person out to capitalise on her death by scoring cheap political points against the church. None of you who think you know better have so much as acknowledged the woman's right to choose for herself. and nails justification for it all - Yes they did earn it because they had to put up with their parents BS for a big part of their lives. What did the church do for it ?? Some weasel words, some cheap Safeway wine and a bit of salada biscuit and a fake gold pass to heaven to top it off WHat a joke ! Wow. Delusional much |

Classic nail and bobby show;
>>> Nail and bobby go on and on about how bad the church is, posting one after another in agreement in their own little conversation. Of course the whole time they are speaking to each other over messenger, making the whole posting conversations on the forum a show for everyone else and therefore a total waste of time and space. >>> They get so worked up, nail starts making false accusations about other members and goes off on a tangent ignoring what the thread is actually about. >>> The next day others come on and see the fake and idiotic accusations nail has been making. These are proven to be false, and nail is shown to be a trolling liar. >>> Nail then changes the topic, looking for any reason to ignore anything that is said and get off as many insults as he can. This is useless and he only makes a fool of himself, so he gets on messenger asking for help. >>> like clockwork, bobby comes in; agrees with everything nail has said and tells everyone else to apologize to nail. Both then masturbate each other thinking no one can see what a couple of bum thumping knob jockeys they are. Yes, this is a typical nail and bobby show. |
