Title: Lance Armstrong???
Post by philperth2010 on Jul 6th, 2012 at 7:49am
5 former team mates of Lance Armstrong have come out and accused the 7 time Tour De France winner of being a drug cheat.....Of course he is innocent until proven guilty however things do not look good for the champion cyclist!!!

When the iron curtain came down the East Germans admitted to having a State sanctioned doping program for their athletes to give them an unfair advantage.....The Americans where the only ones who could compete with the East German team and defeat their super athletes.....Ask yourself why???

Yes, it's been well known for a very long time.

A great pity really.

I thought you would have been a supporter Sprint.....If he is found guilty it will be very humiliating for him and his supporters.....Most people who support him refuse to accept he is a drug cheat despite anything that is revealed.....I cannot see him being pure and honest whilst all his accusers are corrupt and lying.....His reputation is already damaged no matter what happens now!!!

I suspect he is guilty. Which is a tragedy for the clean cyclists who were denied an opportunity to create their own legendary status.

I will continue to believe he is innocent, until proven otherwise.

Clean cyclists?  No such thing.

During lance's latter wins the officials did not attend his victory ceremonies in paris.
Nor did his competitors.

During cadels ceremoney, everyone was there.  Andy/Frank Schleck who was 2nd has had his baby daughter on the podium, he handed his daughter to cadel to cuddle for a while.

lances ........ behaviour has been well known for a long time.

Bit more than that, it has been touted that he was the centre of supply. carried it everywhere apparently. Bit like taking those premierships off Melbourne really, they won them so it makes no difference.

I lived with one of the original South African anti-apartheid dissidents that fled to Australia - the other two were shot. He lost eyesight in one eye and is a real white with blonde aryan/angel looks, etc.
He told me back in 2003 that backbencher Kevin Rudd will be our next Prime Minister - he was right.

He was also  Tour De France fanatic and told me that you cannot win the race unless you are on performance-enhancing drugs! There is too much money at stake for the event as a whole - it is one of the most corrupt sports in the world. Australia learnt the hard way when they got sucked in to be made scape-goats. Yes, even Aussies are drug-cheats.

Current our de france leader had a few words to say about people like us.

Quote:
Bradley Wiggins railed at a question about drugs in cycling by launching an expletive-filled response to a journalist's probing.

Wiggins retained his leader's yellow jersey in the Tour de France on Sunday, but the focus was on the drugs controversy rather than his efforts in reeling in defending champion Cadel Evans late in the stage.

Responding to questioning that the leading riders must be on drugs, Wiggins said: "I say they're just bugger**g w*****s. I cannot be doing with people like that.

"It justifies their own bone-idleness because they can't ever imagine applying themselves to do anything in their lives.

"It's easy for them to sit under a pseudonym on Twitter and write that sort of s**t, rather than get off their a***s in their own lives and apply themselves and work hard at something and achieve something.

"And that's ultimately it. C***s."

Wiggins' focus will shift to Monday's timetrial, which could go a long way to deciding the outcome of the Tour de France.

Armstrong stripped of Tour titles - USADA

The US Anti-Doping Agency said on Friday it has stripped iconic US cyclist Lance Armstrong of his record seven Tour de France titles and banned him for life for doping.

The move follows Armstrong's announcement on Thursday night that he would not pursue arbitration in a bid to clear himself of the doping charges brought against him by USADA in June.

'USADA announced today that Lance Armstrong has chosen not to move forward with the independent arbitration process and as a result has received a lifetime period of ineligibility and disqualification of all competitive results from August 1, 1998 through the present,' USADA said in a statement.

However, the organisers of the Tour de France say they will wait longer before commenting on Armstrong's case.

The International Cycling Union says it wants USADA to explain why Armstrong should lose his titles.

Amaury Sport Organisation, which runs the world's most prestigious race, said on Friday that it would not comment until it had heard more from both of the bodies.

Yet Lance Armstrong has never tested positive to a drug test.....Why wouldn't he contest to clear himself of the doping charges and what does the USADA have on him???

:-? :-? :-?

If he does contest it, all the dirt is made public.  By giving up without a fight, that leaves an element of doubt, so he can at least retain some semblance of credibility, if not his titles.

Lance Armstrong case involves 26 witnesses and 1000 pages of 'supporting evidence'

LANCE Armstrong has tweeted his first words since the US Anti-Doping Agency's release of a report detailing his systemic doping.
Armstrong finally posted on Twitter, hours after the USADA released a 1000-page report into the disgraced seven-time Tour de France winner's doping conspiracy.

But his post offered nothing to explain his endemic use of banned substances while he was a professional rider with US Postal Service.

"What am I doing tonight? Hanging with my family, unaffected, and thinking about this (a link to a page detailing the 15th anniversary of the Lance Armstrong Foundation)," Armstrong tweeted.

He then posted a link to a music video for the Elliot Smith song "Coming Up Roses".

The legendary cyclist engaged in the biggest doping conspiracy in sports history to win the Tour de France seven times, according to the USADA.

USADA chief executive Travis T Tygart said the agency had submitted to the International Cycling Union and World Anti-Doping Agency a report on why in August it banned Armstrong for life.

USADA released more than 1000 pages of supporting evidence gathered in a probe of Armstrong and the US Postal Service team.

"The evidence of the US Postal Service Pro Cycling Team-run scheme is overwhelming," Tygart said.

"The evidence shows beyond any doubt that the US Postal Service Pro Cycling Team ran the most sophisticated, professionalised and successful doping program that sport has ever seen."

That includes testimony from 26 people, 15 of them with knowledge of US Postal riders and doping activities, including George Hincapie, who admitted in a statement he took performance-enhancing drugs.

"It's extremely difficult today to acknowledge that during a part of my career I used banned substances," he said.

"Early in my professional career, it became clear to me that, given the widespread use of performance enhancing drugs by cyclists at the top of the profession, it was not possible to compete at the highest level without them.

"I deeply regret that choice and sincerely apologise to my family, teammates and fans.

"Quietly, and in the way I know best, I have been trying to rectify that decision.

"I have competed clean and have not used any performance enhancing drugs or processes for the past six years. Since 2006, I have been working hard within the sport of cycling to rid it of banned substances.

"During this time, I continued to successfully compete at the highest level of cycling while mentoring young professional riders on the right choices to make to ensure that the culture of cycling had changed."

Hincapie tried to bolster cycling's already doping-stained reputation.

"Cycling has made remarkable gains over the past several years and can serve as a good example for other sports," he said.

"Thankfully, the use of performance enhancing drugs is no longer embedded in the culture of our sport and younger riders are not faced with the same choice we had.

"I am proud to be part of the cycling community, and believe we continue to make positive changes to our sport."

Other former Armstrong teammates who testified include Frankie Andreu, Michael Barry, Tom Danielson, Tyler Hamilton, Floyd Landis, Levi Leipheimer, Stephen Swart, Christian Vande Velde, Jonathan Vaughters and David Zabriskie.

When money is involved, scruples fly out the window, and Armstrong is now super rich, even if his reputation is tarnished.
The best thing in all sports would be, forget about drug bans and tell all the participants use any drug you like if you want to kill yourself for money and fame, then everybody could make their own choices.

It would be pretty interesting to see how far the human body could be enhanced, but with no limits on what ends you can go to, it's open to all sorts of ethical dilemmas.  You could see freaks like this being engineered to crush the competition.

I suppose the unjust thing is the riders who where 2nd and 3rd where more than likely also taking some sort of drugs who knows.....The sport has made it impossible to compete without taking drugs.....If Lance Armstrong is a victim or the reason for this is something that should be answered???

A few interesting points came out of a tv current affairs prog on lance armstrong .

1/ When Lance set up the team he said "The europeans are doping, if we want to have a chance of competing, we have to do it too."

2/ the dope enforcing agency accepted donations from lance to "further their work". That was unethical of them.

3/ an administrator of the tour said "spectators want to see cyclists racing through france at 40 km/h, not 27 km/h."

people have been caught doping in cycling for decades before lance.

it's a bigger issue than lance armstrong.
