(1) The increase in cost of living

(2) The decrease in global temperature

(3) If they will forgive Gillard for "There will be no carbon tax....."


Labor has no other choice but focus on (1)

They know they cannot compete on the other two areas

I heard a Labor MP said that Australia should move on from point (3) and deal with the fact that the tax is here and the lie was ancient history. The next thing we know it the LIBs would be quoting Whitlam.

Facts are - this is not ancient history because the PM who made the comment is currently the PM.

It will be ancient history when I say it will be ancient history. For other people though, I am guessing it may take atleast 1 election to voice their opinion of the lie. 2 would be better, but if labor repeal the carbon tax with abbott, then im pretty sure it would be ancient history after that.

Voters will judge the CT on 3 criteria

Many will tune into 2GB etc and be told what to think and have already made up their mind.

Some will buy the daily smelagrath to be told what they firmly believe.

Doubt that many care about your criteria for 1) Mr Abbnott and co will be trying hard to make sure that people don't find out.

Its time you learned that perhaps 1% of the population has even heard alan jones and even less care. in todays lesson we discover that most people DONT live in sydney and MOST people work during the day without a radio.

Exactly, that is why phony Tony was so eager to get to the polls early. The fact he failed in that attempt just about guarantees  he'll never occupy the lodge. The tom toms are beating again, I can see Rudd back in the lodge before years end,another obstacle for phony Tony. The best part of that is Turnbulls chances of being the next Liberal PM will shorten dramatically the day Rudd resumes office.

I wish that I could share your optimism, but I can't. It's very clear now that if Gillard is Labor leader next election, the only outcome is that Labor will be smashed. People have no respect for her now, and won't listen, which is a shame, because I think that she's been a fantastic leader, and the carbon tax is an important reform. So she told one lie. Big deal. If Rudd were to come back, Labor would stand a chance, but that can't happen, after what his colleagues said about him during the february leadership challenge. WHY OH WHY were Swan, Roxon, Burke, Plibersek, Crean and co so stupid as to make those comments. I bet they're certainly regretting them now.
