Greed is great, you can end up looking like Clive and Gina. Who wouldn't want that healthy glow?

Maybe some greed is defensible, because it promotes drive, but in the end it gets out of hand and turns out to be very harmful to society.

Of all the things that greed may be, good is NOT one of them.

In fact, it stands directly responsible for most of what's wrong with the world.

Is greed all bad and no good?

Without greed, the world would be stagnant and mediocre. Greed drives people beyond mediocrity. Making more money than your competitors means you have to sell something better than your competitors. If people didn't want to make money, they'd make crap.

It's like the movie, "The Invention of Lying." In the movie, everyone except for the protagonist tells the truth. Imagine a world without greed -- "The Invention of Greed."

Of course, greed often exploits stupidity. That's the downside of greed. The upside is that it can motivate people to produce something useful, invent something or come up with ideas that are insightful. Greed is good when it is constructive and productive and bad when it cuts corners and exploits stupidity.

Yes I agree that the best things in this world have been created where greed has not been the motivating factor.

Who would bother being a scientist, physicist, mathematician, artist..etc. in this country, but for the love of understanding and creating?

Developing ideas is all well and good, but the exploitation of people creates nothing but contempt and wars.
