Title: Adopt a lefty week
Post by Morning Mist on Jun 2nd, 2012 at 1:37pm
Look, we know there are some people on this forum who are really sad characters, right? No need to name them, they know who they are and so do the rest of us.

Like most rabid leftwing reactionaries they are constantly critical, bitter and twisted.

They suffer from self loathing. They know they present themselves badly and would like to change, but they just can't help it. They sit down at their computer and something clicks in their heads.

What is missing from their sad lives is love.  They need to reach out and find someone who cares. Problem is they are so f-cking unlovable.

But we should try. So lets make this Adopt a Leftie Week.

Find a lefty in your neighborhood. They're not hard to spot, they have a constant scowl on their faces and make loud remarks at supermarkets about rich people, white people, men with power and mothers with push chairs who get in their way. They are never happy.

Offer a lefty a lift to the shops. Invite them over for coffee and choccy bickies. If they're old, and lefties often are, offer to mow their lawns. They'll complain you haven't done them properly, of course, but try to persevere.

Maybe get up early one morning and make them bacon and eggs for breakfast. Of course the bacon won't be crispy enough and eggs too runny, but, just remember, moaning is what makes them happy.

They are sad lonely people, we should feel sorry for them. So go to it!

Why do you continue to post on a predominantly left leaning board then?

It makes no sense when people whinge about their suffering in having to deal with a group of sub-humans they detest on a forum, but just keep coming back for more.

Try Debate Relate - apparently they're mainly right whingers so you might feel more comfortable amongst your own kind.  ::)

This post is almost a complete copy of Peter Friedman's "Adopt of rightie." I merely changed a few words to show that it can flipped over and have the same merit, or should I say, lack of merit.

As for posting on a left wing board, well, debate can only occur when opposition is around. You might like hanging out with those you agree with, but you won't advance your arguments at all. Advances only come at the expense of out-smarting, out-manoeuvring, out-thinking your opposition.
Take this as a free lesson in the basic mechanics of debate.

Geez. Well that explains why it never gets anywhere with you. I thought debate with ppl that think differently from yourself was supposed to be a learning experience. So you just want to hone your abbott skills . . . .

Most of your positions I've heard a thousand times before. You're not even a challenge. If you're not a challenge then there's nothing to learn.

I didn't see his post - so my error.

Thanks for your advice, but I haven't seen much out-smarting and out-maneuvering from the conservatives here. Most of it is pointless arguing going over the same ground endlessly with a lot of Coalition sloganeering thrown in.

Neither side of politics is in a position to put forward a winning argument at the moment unfortunately.

Morning Mist is waiting for Miss Right, friends. After the wedding he plans to give up Bolshie destroying for in-law pleasing and mortgage paying. There will be a period of minor drudgery until Morning Mist takes a well-earned rest and becomes what he has always yearned to be: an old boy.
