There does seem to be a section missing though - the section that details the events and efforts that would help aborigines to understand whiteys culture.  Surely it can't succeed if only one party is making an effort?

That's right! The boongs should give us the land, dress in breeches, learn English and God's salvation, and stop spearing our sheep. Give up their white-looking children too. And be good about it.

Oh.  OK thanks for the invaluable input Pansi.  It sure is a shock to find this out, but I thank you for being honest with me.  It's never easy learning you are afraid of condiments of any sort, but admitting you have a problem is the first step in overcoming this debilitating condition.

I was thinking of running a workshop named "train station etiquette".  Everyone knows it's not that aborigines are criminally inclined, it's just that they don't know white people don't like being assaulted for cigarettes or loose change at train and bus stations.  By building awareness of this cultural difference, we can break down the walls that divide us.

For what would they "hit up" mining companies for?   
All they need is their kinship with the land.  If you took reconciliation seriously, like I do, your awareness would have been raised to a sufficient level for you to know that.

After all, mining companies are made up of real people with real feelings. Look at all the great work they're doing.

I do take reconciliation seriously. I fundamentally believe that these boongs should take things in their stride, forgive and forget, and try to make amends with the real Australians.

I totally agree with Karnal, the Aboriginals have had long enough to assimilate to our way of life. When in Rome do as the Roman's do. If they don't like how we live they can go back to where they came from. From what I can see they don't even try to be white.

Oh, we tried. We had a comprehensive program of interbreeding and genetic assimilation. Full-blood to half-caste to quarter-caste to octoroon, etc, etc, etc. In a few generations we wouldn't have had to worry about them.
