Title: Carbon tax compensation costing us all
Post by Armchair_Politician on May 27th, 2012 at 7:07am
GilLIARd's carbon tax is costing us all to the tune of $700 million in terms of "compensation". Not content with one lie (GilLIARd's, "there will be no carbon tax under a government I lead"), Labor is now rolling out a new one with regard to the "compensation".

Families Minister Jenny Macklin warned the Coalition might strip pensioners of the compensation if they scrap the carbon tax, leaving pensioners worse off. "Tony Abbott and the Liberals are planning to claw back money from self-funded retirees, pensioners and families, leaving millions out of pocket," she said.

What Jenny the Liar fails to tell everyone is that when Abbott rescinds the carbon tax, there will be no need for compensation for the carbon tax because it will no longer exist.

"Tony Abbott and the Liberals are planning to claw back money from self-funded retirees, pensioners and families, leaving millions out of pocket,"
...................................................................

That's to be expected with a Liberal govt. They take from the poor to give to the rich. They never quite worked out the Robin Hood theory.

The problem with labor is that they actualy do think Australians are stupid enough to believe that with a carbon tax they need compensation, so they will save the people from labor policy and that the people need compensation still, after the labor tax goes away.

So if they need compensation from the danger of labor, do they need compensation when the danger of labor goes away.

I think getting rid of the danger of labor, is compensation enough.

Do pensioners get compensated under the coal-ition's model. The one where Gina and Clive ride on tax payers for free.

Granny has to carry Clive ... That is class warfare the Coal-ition is playing.

Also since Liberals didn't negotiate with Labor during the carbon pricing scheme, they didn't negotiate a good outcome for the coal and nuclear industries. Is it because they don't care about the workers of these regions.

Do the Coal-ition really deserve to represent these electorates.

Luckily the bright voters understand that Greens are in Alliance with Labor, and not a Coalition.

Were as Liberals are in coalition with Nationals, so Nationals support the destruction of agriculture and regional businesses via Liberal's financial masters, the coal billionaires.
And Liberals must own Barnaby Joyce's $10,000 Baby Bonus because he will be dept pm, if the coalition get what the want for Australia. An Economic Illiterate Abbott in charge of Australian Assets.

Everyone has been saying for years that a vote for the Greens is a vote for Labor. Gillard and Brown merely formalised that with their coalition agreement.

Tnoy Abbnott has comitted to retain all compensation etc when he removes the fixed carbon price.

Is this just Tnot telling another porkie?

In reality it is all just rhetoric - Tony will not remove the fixed carbon price so the compensation I would think is fairly safe.

I have to be honest here like most of this govts charity... I dont understand most of it..

this compensation.. I am a single pensioner..

so I will get a lump sum.. just the once! is that so?

I take it I got that bit right..

from then on how is the rest of the compensation worked.?

do I get say $5 in pay paycheck each fortnight?

another lump sum after a few months?

nothing more.

whatever I get its for this year only.

whatever I get it goes on forever and increases with the cost of living..

it has nothing to do with CPI increases or any other increases we may encounter.

I will always be entitled to CARBON TAX COMPENSATION...

What the ALP hopes to many of us will not realise is that the government doesn't have the money for these cash handouts - they're borrowing to hand it out. So it will have to be repaid at some stage (probably by Abbott) in the form of reduced benefits and/or increased taxes. The debt cannot remain unpaid indefinitely and the government cannot continue to increase the debt ceiling willy-nilly.

The companies paying for the carbon levy, so to have the privilege to destroy the environment and make Australians sick, is being paid in coal or cash?

How will Abbott slow the illness amongst Australians, being created by coal and other high carbon pollution.

By slashing funding to health?

Are you practising for a career in politics? What you just posted had absolutely nothing at all to do with my quote that you used. You sound like a Labor politician answering a simple and direct question - the answer is to talk about something completely unrelated to the question and hope no one notices.

What about the health effect on Australians from excess human carbon pollution. Why are Liberals ignoring everything that their policy doesn't cover.

Why should people have to suffer from Ross River Fever. A Viris on track to be in every Australian capital city due to excess human carbon pollution. The carbon pollution Liberals want to ignore. Come On Liberals how can you not act on AGW and slash health when our health system is a major part of our adaptation plan.
