Title: Bob Ellis offers to repay HSU members. Post by MOTR on May 19th, 2012 at 6:41pm
Does this offer put this issue into some sort of perspective. I don't believe it diminishes Thomson's alleged abuses, however, the impact of his actions on the union's members pale into insignificance when compared to the implications of a work choices revival on the welfare of HSU members.

My issue with all this has not been around Thomson, to me he is the worst kind of union pig snout in the trough scum. It has always been about the members and their money.
He's effectively stolen from the lowest paid people in the country. These poor sods do the worst jobs and are paid a pittance. They deserve far better. |

This is exactly the point I was trying to make. All of a sudden Andrei is concerned about pay and working conditions, yet he will advocate individual contracts which deliver worse outcomes for these type of workers than those achieved through collective bargaining. |

You're being very vague. What exactly is your vision for the future? How will it be different? Don't take the coward's way out and say "better" ... give some detail. |
