Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and their legal advisers Alberto Gonzales, David Addington, William Haynes, Jay Bybee and John Yoo were tried in absentia in Malaysia.

I do think that nothing will come of it...when it comes to super powers and its leaders whatever they do is always justified and for the better of mankind.
In my opinion the only time war criminals will be brought to justice is when they are part of a losing team...a lot like the end of WW2, the Germans were trialled over there atrocities towards humanity but there was no mention of the U.S dropping 2 atom bombs over cites in Japan while incinerating thousands of non-combatant men woman and children of all ages...So, where's the justice. |

So what gives that kangaroo court any credibility? Malaysia has not ratified the Rome statute for the ICC and looking at the list of signatories there are no Islamic countries that have ratified the rome statute yet they still want their own unofficial kangaroo court. If you want to use the ICC then you have to sign the Rome Statute. The Geneva conventions have not been ratified by Islamic countries so how can they claim war crimes when they dont even want ratify this convention, chopping Nick Bergs head off was a war crime, chopping the heads off prisoners is a war crime. The Universal declaration of human rights was not ratified by any Islamic countries because it violates Islamic law, how does human rights violate religious laws? They were found guilty in a kangaroo court, they have to sign the Rome statute if they want to take them to the ICC. http://www.iccnow.org/documents/signatory_chart_Nov_2011_EN.pdf The Anzus treaty would have put us in Iraq and Afghanistan regardless of which party was leading the country at the time. |

Its a symbol. They are making it known that they do not support the terrorism of the bush govt. Apparently (according to the article) Canada and switzerland want to do the same thing. Maybe even do it properly. That would be nice.
Heh I doubt bush will be able to leave his country. SOB |

Funny that Bush should be accused of war crimes while Obama gets awarded the nobel peace prize.

Lol. If you had read it you would know. Actually my point in this case is that you didnt read it. You cant comment on it when you havent read it obviously because you get stuff wrong. SOB |

So Obama didn't get the nobel peace prize? Not seeing much else "wrong" in the statement. Unless of course you think the fac I said "accused" rather than "convicted" is important....but surely not even you would be that stupid. |

ok here is a bone
Quote:
Heh now that you mention it he is convicted. In malaysia. It says in the article that they know this conviction is unenforceable but they can submit it to some committee or other. Dont remember. Read it and see. The point is that its a symbol. Bush is guilty. SOB |

Uhuh. Thats lovely. But mentioning that Obama got a nobel peace prize when he continued, and even intensified Bushs course of action is wrong..........how? |

Well you see that’s where it gets ambiguous and hypocritical. You mention the US atomic bombs in Japan, but not London….or Berlin…or Dresden….or Tokyo. Why? |

Title: Re: War Crimes Post by metal_j on May 15th, 2012 at 4:23pm
My point is...just in case you missed it...depending on who is in control,it will determine what is right or wrong in this world.

It indicated to me that you hadnt read the article because it was totally off topic. This means that anything you say may or may not have anything to do with it. In fact after your lil topic change midstream in the other thread i see that is a pattern of yours. You cant accept anything anyone else says so you move the goalposts. SOB |

I get ya drift – winners are grinners and loser can go **** themselves. It is just funny how the atom bombs used in Japan take precedent over mass aerial bombings of other cities, by both sides. |

Henceforth, let it be known that I consider you to be a complete waste of time. (and oxygen) I get more meaningful conversations from my houseplants, with the added bonus that they don't have a grudge which compels them to pick arguments about nothing. |
