Gerard Baden-Clay meets with police as search continues for missing wife Allison Baden-Clay

GERARD Baden-Clay yesterday took his three daughters to church as police continued their desperate search for his missing wife Allison.

The girls emerged from the service at the Ashgrove Baptist Church in Queensland with balloons, one inscribed with the message: "Dear God, make shore (sic) that mum is safe".

It was another heartbreaking scene from the mystery that is baffling the nation.

Mrs Baden-Clay was last seen 11 days ago in Brookfield, in Brisbane's southwest, and has since vanished without any trace.

Mr Baden-Clay, who reported her missing before hiring a Gold Coast criminal lawyer,  :-? yesterday spent an hour at the Indooroopilly police station.

Earlier, homicide detectives had arrived at the Kenmore home of Mr Baden-Clay's parents, where he has been living with his three daughters since his wife's disappearance.

But they were too late to catch Mr Baden-Clay, who minutes earlier left the property to take his daughters, aged 10, 8 and 5, to church...

POLICE confirmed late yesterday that the body found in a creek near Mt Crosby is that of former Ipswich woman Allison Baden-Clay.

Scores of police and SES volunteers continued to search bushland near Kholo Creek, where her body was found by a canoeist about 11am Monday.

Police are still treating the case as a homicide investigation...

...Officers have so far refused to comment on suspects, other than to say "numerous" people of interest have been interviewed.

Superintendent Mark Ainsworth commended the search parties and the volunteers for their help with the case, which has been upgraded to murder.

"The missing person's case has been ramped up for some time," Supt Ainsworth said.

"At this stage, we are looking at an unlawful homicide investigation. We believed it reached that level some time ago."

Mr Dickie wept on the shoulder of a police officer when he learned a body found at Kholo Creek crossing was that of his daughter.

"He [God] has answered one of our prayers. She was found, and the second prayer is that we find who did this awful thing to our daughter," he told The Courier Mail.

He said Mr Baden-Clay had told them "she went for a walk and she didn't return - that's all he said".

Mrs Dickie said they knew there was "something wrong" from the beginning, :-? and told how she held memories of their last hug dear.

"I said 'love you'. They were getting in the car. That's it. It's terrible isn't it. You just don't realise."

I would probably start by investigating anybody who recently hired a criminal lawyer.

Friend of murdered woman laments: 'She told me things, I should have done more'

Police are close to arresting the killer of Allison Baden-Clay, writes Lisa Davies.

...So what led to Mrs Baden-Clay's body being found in a secluded bush creek?

Police are confident they are well on the way to finding out. Officers have refused to rule out anyone as a suspect.

Gerard Baden-Clay hasn't said much since his wife vanished on Thursday, April 19.

Sprung by a TV crew about a week after she disappeared, before her body was found, he was a bundle of hand-wringing nerves, tears not quite visible...

...While detectives are publicly keeping their options open about a suspect, as one of her closest loved ones, Mr Baden-Clay is automatically under scrutiny.

Their home, his belongings and his workplace - a Century 21 real estate franchise - have been raided. Police have taken a laptop, computer equipment, a hard drive, and other boxes and bags of evidence.

A woman who worked alongside the Baden-Clays at the agency has also been interviewed extensively, although why this particular colleague has been questioned is unclear.

Mrs Baden-Clay's grief-stricken parents, Geoff and Priscilla Dickie, hinted at the underlying discontent in their daughter's life in an interview with a Brisbane newspaper. Mrs Dickie said her daughter wasn't the type to complain...

...''She was probably so proud,'' she said. ''She had all the stresses and strains of a 43-year-old mother of three.''

Her best friend, Kerry-Anne Walker, told the newspaper Mrs Baden-Clay ''wouldn't have wanted anybody to think she failed at anything''. ''She wanted that appearance that things were good. She always looked good, whether she felt bad on the inside, she always looked good,'' she said.

''She told me things and I should have done more.''...

...Detectives appear to be making progress as they methodically investigate this mysterious murder.

They originally urged the public to reflect on whether they had seen the Baden-Clays' cars between 6.30pm that Thursday and 8am Friday, as they travelled through a busy intersection.

But after the missing person's inquiry became a murder investigation, they narrowed the timeframe, suggesting one of the family cars, a Holden Captiva and a Toyota Prado, could have been on the move between 11.30pm on April 19 and 4am the following day.

Mr Baden-Clay was involved in a single-vehicle accident two days after his wife disappeared. Asked about the accident, which resulted in a brief trip to hospital, Mr Baden-Clay answered a Channel Nine reporter almost bashfully.

''I was hurt a little bit, but I'm OK,'' he said, dipping his head ever so slightly.

Police say they have an ''open mind'' in the case, but are confident of making an arrest.

Mrs Baden-Clay's father says his family's prayers were answered when her body was found and now, ''the second prayer is that we find who did this awful thing to our daughter''.

WHY didn't Gerard Baden-Clay help in the police search for his wife?

Why didn't he sit with her heartbroken parents, at the police press conference, and plead for the return of the beautiful and talented woman he married?

Those two questions keep swirling around, tormenting me each time I read or hear another police appeal for help in the unlawful killing of Allison Baden-Clay...

...We saw her parents do something no parent should ever have to do - look down the lens of a camera and ask for help in their daughter's unlikely disappearance.

We saw her sister-in-law, shaking and in tears, plead with Allison to return home, and her parents-in-law support each other as no news became bad news.

I can't imagine what Allison and Gerard's three little girls are going through this weekend. I have two of a similar age, and it brings me to tears to think of the scars they will carry for life...

...I just can't understand why he didn't rush to search for her with police and locals, and why he didn't join her parents in the public police calls for assistance in finding her. I called his lawyer on Thursday, desperate to find an answer.

Perhaps I wanted to know that my husband wouldn't make that decision; that he would collapse in exhaustion each night, only rallying the next day by a determination to find me.

I wanted to hear the same from Gerard Baden-Clay.

His lawyer Darren Mahoney politely declined my interview request...

I think it's a bit of a "spoof" of the ridiculous articles that always get thrown around about Muslims, claiming every single Muslim who was killed by their family was part of some Islamic religious honour/beliefs.

The fact is many Western/Christian women are murdered by their spouses, yet if they were Muslims, it would instantly be referred back to the religion as being responsible for it. I guess Falah is trying to take a poke at that kind of hypocrisy. Although I've tried before, and it always goes over their heads. Their hypocrisy is so deeply ingrained, the point doesn't even remotely occur to them. They actually think it's an attempt to show how bad Christians are or something, in a "deflection tactic".

Gerard Baden-Clay, husband of Allison, once touted as LNP MP

AS POLICE continued the hunt for Allison Baden-Clay's killer, a picture is emerging of the close ties the prominent family has to the community in Brisbane's affluent western suburbs.

Husband Gerard was once favoured in the LNP ranks as a future member of parliament, touted by at least one federal MP as the "best candidate" in the Moggill electorate for the 2004 state election.

"I thought he was definitely a future state government minister," said former LNP member and federal Ryan MP Michael Johnson. "He has a very strong pro-business background and that is the DNA of the Liberal Party."

Mr Baden-Clay, 41, has focused on building his real estate business Century 21 Westside in past years, maintaining connections to high-profile identities including sitting Moggill MP Bruce Flegg.

He has been president of the Kenmore and District Chamber of Commerce since 2004 and been involved in the Brookfield State School P&C.

Mr Baden-Clay's affinity with the LNP is evident on social networking sites where he is "friends" with Federal Ryan MP Jane Prentice, former Cunningham MP and expelled LNP member Stuart Copeland, Premier Campbell Newman, former LNP leader John-Paul Langbroek, and federal deputy Opposition leader Julie Bishop.

Others in the party were aware of Mr Baden-Clay's strong community networks, but said they didn't believe he was lining up for endorsement.

Mr Johnson, who was disendorsed by the LNP in 2010, said he had met Mr Baden-Clay many times at public functions and was disappointed he wasn't "active in the political scene".

"I thought he was someone who could've taken over from (former Liberal leader) David Watson," Mr Johnson said.

The reclusive side of a grieving husband

As detectives ramp up their hunt for the killer of Brisbane mother Allison Baden-Clay, her husband Gerard has hired a top criminal lawyer,  bunkered down in his parents home and is yet to make a plea to help catch her killer.

The low profile stance represents a dramatic turnaround for the prominent real estate agent and skilled networker who blogged about his life, presided over the local chamber of commerce, was touted as a potential political candidate and occupied the vice-president’s role at the local school’s P & C.

Since his wife disappeared from their rented home in leafy Brookfield one of Brisbane’s most affluent western suburbs, the accountant turned property agent has become a recluse, growing a beard and leaving it up to his wife’s parents to make a public plea to catch the killer...

Sure they do... you're just in denial to try and cover them up.

In fact spousal murder is most rife in the Western/Christian world. And it's no wonder, the Bible has many passages commanding the murdering of women for all sorts of things, especially unfaithfulness (ie. trampling on a man's honour).

About 22% of homicides in Australia are the type where a man kills his wife or girlfriend.

http://www.aic.gov.au/documents/9/C/B/%7B9CBFDFE5-F9B2-4FEB-A14A-3166810B564F%7Dtandi255.pdf

That is about 50 honour killings per year in Australia.

Where is the outrage?

There is none because they are mostly Christians.

Sadly most Aussies are braindead when it comes to this kind of stuff. They just follow whatever the media tells them.

Last night I watched a show called "Trouble in paradise" (I think) about Aussies getting in trouble abroad.

They showed a case from a few years ago of a bus load of Australians who were held hostage by a suicide bomber wearing a suicide vest. Strangely I  don't recall hearing about it in the media at all. Surely if such a thing took place, in this climate of "terrorist-mania", it would be all over the news, yet I  don't remember a thing.

There was one important ingredient missing from the incident though, which I'm sure anyone with half a neuron can guess...

I also just finished watching Insight, where Jennie Brockie had an audience full of Afghans (actually they all looked hazara to me), and asked them "Who wants the foreign troops to stay?" and claimed to be discussing the "way forward for Afghanistan". They were completely oblivious to the fact the Talibaan has almost taken the entire country back, and that the "coalition of the killing" are on their last legs. Completely detached from reality, the show presented an absolute fantasy perspective of the situation there.

Vital clue in Baden-Clay murder as witness tells of four-wheel-drives in darkness

A WITNESS has told police of seeing two four-wheel-drives near Kholo Creek crossing early on the day Allison Baden-Clay was reported missing.

The White Toyota Prado owned by the Baden-Clays.

It is alleged a white four-wheel-drive didn't have its headlights on, only parking lights, and was closely tailing a smaller, blue four-wheel-drive at about 4am on April 20.

The witness told of noticing the vehicles at Anstead in Brisbane's west - within 2km of where the 43-year-old mother of three's body was found 10 days later.

Police said Mrs Baden-Clay was reported missing by her husband Gerard at 7.30am on Friday after she failed to return from her usual morning walk.

He told police he had last seen his wife at their Brookfield home about 10pm the previous night.

It is understood several members of the community have come forward with information, triggering a number of new lines of investigation.

Police have established a major incident room with detectives, intelligence analysts and forensic officers to help with the investigation.

They are believed to be awaiting results from forensic tests including toxicology.

The Baden-Clays' cars - a white Toyota Prado four-wheel-drive and a silver Holden Captiva - were taken in by police for forensic tests...

He is referring to the many countries in the world where almost everyone is a Muslim. It would be a lot easier to revivify the caliphate there than trying to do it here.

Still, we must keep trying. We must repeat and repeat until they finally understand.

Churchgoing former Liberal rising star to be charged with killing wife:

Baden-Clay to be charged with murder: lawyers

Lawyers for the husband of Brisbane woman Allison Baden-Clay say their client is expected to be charged with her murder later tonight.

Gerard Baden-Clay was formally interviewed by police at the Indooroopilly police station for several hours this afternoon.

Mr Baden-Clay's lawyers say he is devastated and will vigorously defend the charge.

Ms Baden-Clay, 43, disappeared from her Brookfield home in Brisbane's west in April.

Her body was found in a creek bed in Anstead several weeks later.

Her husband had told police that she had disappeared after going for a late night walk from their home.

Always so sad to see when these Christian/Western/Secularists abuse and murder their womenfolk like this. They clearly have no respect for the rights of women, and merely treat them as objects they can extract enjoyment from and then toss away when they've finished with them, ending their lives with impunity.

GERARD Baden-Clay has been charged with the murder of his wife Allison Baden-Clay.

A handcuffed Mr Baden-Clay was taken from Indooroopilly police station to the Roma Street watchhouse by police, arriving just after 6.40pm.

Mr Baden-Clay's lawyer Darren Mahony said his client was "devastated".

He said it was Baden-Clay’s intention to "defend the charge vigorously".

Mr Mahony said Mr Baden-Clay had instructed him to make an urgent bail application...
