Not used to uploading pictures. I need a leg out on a step by step loading from My Pictures on my computer onto the Chat site here.

I have some great Art Deco building pics I want to share.

Thanks to anyone who can help me, with my low knowledge in this area.

When you're composing a post, there is a 'browse' button under the emoticons.

If you have difficulty, let me know and I'll do a screen shot.

Thanks Annie I am aware of the Browse and I can get to the point where I select the 4 allowed photos.

But from there I'm lost. How do I get those four selections to the Chat post?

I got lost on some kind of Mocrosoft word thing.

I hadn't noticed the "Browse" button before, as I upload my photos to an external site (either Photobucket or Flickr) before I post them, but I just decided to give it a try doing what Annie said. Here's what happened after I clicked on "Post Message":

So it would appear that, for some things, size does matter.....

There's probably some guidelines somewhere but, if there are, I can't find them. Does anyone know what the maximum allowable size of images is? Most of my photos are 800 pixels wide (some of the older ones are 600) and I've posted them without any problems at all, although they are posted as links to Photobucket or Flickr rather than being posted directly to the site.

I usually use flickr/photobucket too and have posted photographs that exceed the 250kb limit. So yes, it is only for pictures that will be hosted here. I think.

Perhaps someone a bit more tech savvy can help Red figure out what is going on.

i WANTED TO USE THAT BROWSE BUTTON(strange how so many of us never saw it before- glad I'm not alone in that lol), BUT, MAYBE NEXT TIME!

(THIS PICTURE WOULDN'T LET ME SAVE IT TO MY PICTURES FILE!???! Atleast not in gigantic format which I just had to show, :-? :-? :-? :-? :D )

O.K. Death, you're probably stringing me along however, I can get the image I want into the box on the left of Browse, the file details that is. But how do I actually post it onto the site.

I have tried Save and also Alt and s.

Is there something else I should be doing because that ain't working for me. Thanks. Red Baron.

The pics seem to be about 2.93mgbs each

That is a pretty big image RB. Can you make it smaller?

I added an image to the OzPolitics Album and linked to a post from there. It worked OK for me. Happy to help you do the same if you like. I would love to see the pics you have.

If you're using Windows, open them with Microsoft Office Picture manager and cut it down to about 500 pixels wide then save it. If you don't have Microsoft Office, download Libre Office. It's free and it's just about as good.

MS paint can do the job just fine.

There is a file size limit of 250 kb for files uploaded while posting with the browse button.

Failing that, you can use the ozpolitic album, or flickr, photobucket etc.

Please limit the image width as it messes with the page a bit if people have small screens.
