Amanda Vanstone is quite a nice lady so if you ever get the chance to have a chinwag with her grab it with both hands

she is stating the bleeding obvious..
didnt Latham think he was gods gift to Australia and was home and hosed??? Still, the government is showing no signs of wanting to call an election. When a female PM from the Labor movement refuses to stand up for low-income health workers whose money has been misused by somebody to use women as prostitutes, it is pretty clear power is not going to be thrown away. you didnt highlight this bit...WHY? |

The Gillard government is in a shemozzle and the Prime Minister just cannot persuade voters to trust her. Almost no one thinks Labor can win the next election.
>> My worst nightmare is that this line of thinking continues and more, not fewer, people vote for independents at the next election. >> Australia needs stable and strong government. Minority government means the opposite. All great points, thanks skippy. ::) |

Once again, the far-left can't accept the fact that Labor will be annihilated come next election. I don't know whether to laugh, or have pity. This week's QLD election will just be a taste of what is to come next year, if not sooner.

How can you be certain of that? State results do not always translate to the federal sphere. |
Title: Re: Careful what you wish for Post by life_goes_on on Mar 19th, 2012 at 9:13pm
During the Howard years the state election results certainly didn't mirror the federal ones.

Well as has many a time been attempted here we go. You probably won't understand Matty as words and frases like "equality, equity" and "in the interests of all Australians" might get used. These might actually infer that politicians are ment to be acting in the national interest not self interest. That is national as in the Australian nation Matty not the National Party. If and that is a big if, on occasion we have a politician who acts in that interest and by some strange turn of events is not politically assassinated we will end with a great leader. The only one of these i have seen in my lifetime has been Hawke. Previous to this they were either twats or i was too young to know or even not born so i cannot say. I know that since Hawke we have had self serving and destructively pre occupied government who only care for the next election and seem to have no focus on what is right. They do things like hand out middle class welfare and create government dependance to completely mismanaging the distrobution of a packet of lifesavers. |

Ummm, I am struggling to see any relevance to what I asked, whatsoever. Besides, that is a matter of opinion. John Howard (alongside Pauline Hanson) was my role model, growing up. I thought that he was a fantastic Prime Minister. He didn't win four terms for nothing, and he did care about the Australian people. Hawke was a womanising sleaze, who left his wife when she needed care most. A sleaze of the worst kind. I would call him a grub, but that would be an insult to grubs. You don't have to be stroppy with me, if you want to play that game, then maybe learn the actual spelling of "frase". |
