Title: Some want Rudd back as PM - I certainly don't!!! Post by Armchair_Politician on Feb 18th, 2012 at 9:35pm
Watch this petulant, expletive-ridden tirade by one of the most incompetent and controlling PM's we've ever had. I sure don't want an idiot who behaves like such a child to be my PM. Do you???

Yep just caught that, never wanted him anyway but this should sink the boat for him. All we need is to find that the PM's office leaked it. |

I don't see much to be concerned about. He has red blood through his veins like I do.
I would be more concerned about the Heiner Affair. |

Some want Abbott as PM. I certainly don't either. In any case thank goodness, for the Australian Greens. Of which who ever wins in 2013, will have to negotiate with them. :)

If anything, this will help him. It shows him to be just another man and not a stuck up fool who fears the media.

Well I for one am open minded, I want to see who is prepared to distance the labour party from the extreme Greens and put them last on the preferences, I want to see who is committed to job security and social security, not just bullshitting us about all of the casual and temporary jobs they are creating. Put up or shut up Gillard, Rudd, Abbott & Turnbull, make me believe... 8-)

I don't see the big deal. He was frustrated with himself - if a bit of swearing in what he thought was a safe environment is all they've got on him, Rudd's probably the right man for the job. If there was a hidden gay sex tape or evidence of corruption, we'd certainly know about it.
If Gillard authorised the release of this, she is obviously more concerned with maintaining her tenuous grasp on power than the good of the country. |

As I said in another thread, this would make me more likely to vote for him, not less, and if it was meant to undermine any leadership challenge I reckon it will fail to do so. We've ALL been frustrated like that, and I don't see why he should be any different. |

I was originally dissapointed that Rudd was overthrown because it was unfair. However I never really rated him, he was a good opposition leader against a failing government but in power he was not able to covert good policy ideas into reality. Gillard has never got a fair go and dosent look like she will I think she may have been OK but a bit weak for my liking on important policy where she tends to negotiate away a lot of the substance to minority interest groups. Remember though it can always get worse we may have to face the prospect of Tony Abbott, now there is a disaster just waiting to happen. |

you make me laugh dna.. you cant give a high five to either of the burks you voted in... yet you wont give Abbott a chance even though he was never even Deputy PM.. or even Deputy leader.. I think give the guy a chance we did give gillard a chance. but the BIG LIE was her main downfall..everyone was gobsmacked except you.. she lost respect and credibility all at the same time.. since then she has shown how far she wil go to hang onto her leadership... a steady ship is not her problem..Slipper.. Jenkins.. hmmmmmm anything to remain there.. I too am shocked that she is nowhere near the person I thought she was.. I didnt like her that much but to see what feet of clay she has has astounded me..shes tough and obviously doesnt give a fig what people think of her.... but is that really how we want a PM to be????? I dont think we have to like them... but we do need a certain amount of respect..she can be tough but at what cost??? someone elses job... I dont call that tough I call that taking advantage of your position.a cowards way out. |

Rudd is a tantrum-throwing pansy.
Who can work with him? I'm bemused as to how he could still figure as a popular choice for PM. |

People have their rose coloured glasses well and truly on is the only answer I can come up with. If he were to get the leadership again, people would soon remember why it was they didn't like him to the point where the party ditched him. Rudd killed Rudd, nobody else. So why this nostalgically wistful wish to bring him back? Beats me. |

Because what is in charge now is infinitely worse. When you have total sh*te at the helm you look back to better days. Hence why last year when a survey was conducted of "Who would you prefer now if you could pick any President to lead?" The winner was Ronald Reagan, just in front of JFK. Better days, better leader. |

Well we all know what a bunch of hypocritical, neo-puritanical prudes Americans are... George Bush 2... Singularly the biggest idiot with the most disastrous Presidency since Nixon... Obama - a sitting President anyway, with the jury out on what his final legacy will be. |

And you think that's the forum for why Reagan would be popular. Not sure if you know much history love but Ronald Reagan was the most popular President in US history. His feat of being re-elected with 49 states out of 50 has never been equalled (or likely every will be). As he said when elected "I tell ya, you ain't seen nuthin yet". |

You didn't give Gillard one day the campaign against her started well before the carbon tax. I gaurantee that if elected I will give him more rope than your mob ever gave Julia. Yes I do not think the big lie was in fact very big. I was dissapointed that she made the commitment and also that she failed to keep her promise. It's not even a real tax, not one person positing here will ever pay one cent of carbon tax. Had Mr Howard done the same thing it would have hardly even rated a headline and certainly would not have still been pushed in the media 15 months later. It's a nothing story which has been kept alive for political reasons. |

You know he came within a couple of votes of winning Mondale's home state and winning every single state. I went to the Reagan Library in CA last year and you know what? You can pick up a licence plate for any of the 49 states for that year. I have "CALIFORNIA - IS REAGAN COUNTRY" Anyway I digress - my point goes back to Rudd. People when under the leadership of poor, out of touch weak leaders revert to wanting to be back under when times were better. This is true for Australia now and for the US. |

------ Are you clairvoyant or something? How can you judge Abbott when he has not yet shown what he can do or will? At the moment, Abbott and Co are simply doing what the country pays them to do - watch the government and reveal how this government is running us into the ground with a deficit that will bite into the earnings of our great grandchildren. You might be in a good position in the government's employ BUT remember, this governmnt is sucking dry the taxpayers and one day, that'll come to a full stop. |

You'll struggle to blot Reagan's name with the American people. The man has mythical status for what he achieved and for his defeating of Communism. You know what - given the choice between living in America under Reagan and living now under this idiot in the White House - you ask everyday Americans what they would prefer? I could guess at the answer..... 1980 - 1988 in America was an infinitely better place and society than it is now. Reagan can take a lot of that credit. |

Somewhat Jungian that they should be haunted again by (and hanker for) their innate dark side barely 2 decades later. |

It's not greed.
It's success. My aims in my career are to get as high as I can, hold as much power as I can and earn as much money as possible. That's society, that's capitalism. That's just how it is. if people don;t like that they can go live in Albania and plant potatoes with an ox or something. Come on, there was nothing wrong with the success of America and the society of the 1980s was an open, better society than now. |
