Title: Sexist Attitudes Towards PM

Bob Brown’s sexist commentators?

Greens leader Bob Brown has accused male commentators, reports the ABC, of making sexist criticisms of the Prime Minister. Senator Brown says the Nielsen poll reflects his belief that public support for Ms Gillard is growing, but he believes she is battling sexist criticism in the media. ”It’s probably all subconscious, but it is sexist and quite ridiculous,” he said.

More on lateline tonight.

What else would you expect from the extreme greens. Australia are not as stupid as the greens wish them to be like their comrades in USA.

Yawn

Today's society.

Sexist.
Racist.
Homophobic.

Ridiculous. People need to toughen up.
People can base their opinions however they like.

PS - For my mind the best Prime Minister that we ever had in Great Britain was a woman.

Always the way. Whenever a minority or female is being criticised, pull the sex, race, gay, midget, ethnic card.

The Australian people have no respect for Gillard because she is an arrogant, narcissistc, hypocritical, incompetet, inept liar.

She would be attacked anyway - it is the way she is attacked that is sexist.

And I highly doubt it's subconscious, as Bob Brown suggests.

How many male politicians have their fertility or decisions not to have children used against them ?

Where is your proof that Greens are communists

This is a claim without facts.

Greens four pillars include Grassroot democracy ... this disproves your claim.

Greens have a policy on an Australian Bill of Rights ... more proof we are not a communist party.

Now try again and this time, try and back up your claims with a little bit of an argument.

That point is pretty valid as an attack line.

Tony Abbott is attacked because of his religious beliefs.

People get attacked for varying reasons.
The fact that she lectures to those of us with families having totally opted out for that way of life is a tad galling to many of us.

A price on carbon pollution was a part of The Greens'  election platform. What Greens voters were voting for.

Greens have gained more political honesty currency while Labor and Liberals have shown they are bankrupt.

The reason some don't like the carbon pricing on the larger polluters are because of the lies by the hard right. Lies, that in time, will be revealed.

Notice the hard right are not complaining about sewage rates business and home owners directly, and renters indirectly, all have to pay.

Why?

A woman has children.

The male plays a minor role at the start, but it is the woman who carries them and has them.

I can't believe I need to go into this but I have never been overly impressed with your education in the colonies and you don't quite strike me as a privately educated chick anyways so I'll let you off.

Gillard not having a children, choosing a barren life and career chasing is perfectly acceptable in my book when she stands and preaches to those of us with families.

If she wants to take that route then fine - like with queers I accept it but will never understand it - but don't preach to those of us who have families.

That's the attack point and its valid.

Exactly.
Mrs Thatcher is admired by so many - me included - and was a woman.
She was the toughest street fighter on the block.

I don't dislike Gillard because she is a woman - I just think she is one goddamn awful PM.

I'm sorry your one brain cell is somehow short circuiting, but I have just criticised the greens.

I cant help it that the commie greens and any of their supporters cant figure out what they are doing that seems to show their true colours.

If the greens had any brains, they would know that a world would have to be at peace and close to equilibrium in their ideals for any one world government to work.

How stupid is it to be talking about a one world government, when the world is in no way remotely close to even having any use of the discussion.

Only commies would have the ideal of a one world government at this stage in the human race.

I have never had a woman boss though so I would admit to say I am not sure how I'd like it be honest.

Though I'll take Colonel Jessop's view in A Few Good Men -

"There is nothing on this earth sexier, believe me, gentlemen, than a woman you have to salute in the morning.
Promote 'em all, I say, because this is true - if you haven't gotten a blow-job from a superior officer, well, you're just letting the best in life pass you by.

'Course, my problem is, I'm a colonel, so I guess I'll just have to keep taking cold showers until they elect some gal President."

Exactly.
Mrs Thatcher is admired by so many - me included - and was a woman.
She was the toughest street fighter on the block.

I don't dislike Gillard because she is a woman - I just think she is one goddamn awful PM.

I have the utmost of respect for Mrs Thatcher. She was elected 4 times, was a competent leader, and was a good PM for every single year of the 80s. My favourite politician of all time, alongside John Howard, also happens to be a red-headed woman.

And it continues from the hard right ... claims of communism without an ounce of fact to back up their mud flinging.

Greens support an Australian Bill of Rights that would guarantee democracy ... something the hard right objects to.

The hard right is more fascist than anything else by opposing the cementing of democracy.

The difference between a democratic world governments and a capitalistic dictatorship. That is the difference.

Either people want companies like monsanto controlling world food prices ... or they desire a say in human decisions via the democratic process.

Those that are anti a democratic world government, are you anti the democratic roll of the internet?

I fail to see the big issue with having a world government.

It'd just be another tier of government. We have three as it stands, why not make it an even four?

It might go towards ending a bit of the nationalistic chest beating that seems to be all the rage these days.

So you believe in human slavery via food.

This is one of the major reasons for my support of a democratic world government.

The privatisation of food into the hands of people who's aim in to gain power and to abuse it for greedy reasons.

We have two choices, world democracy or a communistic overthrow. I support democracy because I am a Greens supporter.

Many years ago I was working as a programmer for a reproductive biology place. One day we visited a Monsanto funded research place on the NSW central coast. That place was like the stuff of full on science fiction.Getting access to the place was like the opening sequence of Get Smart: lift access via a battered storage shed in a nursery and into a large underground facility full of computers with flashing lights, spinning tape drives, people in lab coats and cages and cages of those brave pioneers of science: lab rats.

At that moment I thought: "These people have their sh!t together".

You've gotta do better that. Just saying it would be "a big mistake" without giving reasons is pointless.

We recently had what seemed like a century or two of that little twerp Johnny Howard and his band of directors running this place as though it was a business and with a same level of heartlessness as any big corporation like Monsanto.

For me, life went on, I wasn't adversely affected. I prospered... the GST was a huge winner for me, so were the numerous tax cuts used to buy votes. He might have been a heartless twerp and the country went without getting stuff for however long it was, but for the bulk of us, we prospered.

Hand the power over to a corporation and I fail to see the difference.

Democracy is way overrated.

Only if we the people continue to allow this corporate dictatorship to grow. Monsanto is only advancing due to the division of peoples. Same as other corporations. Playing one group off against others. Playing cheaper wages overseas to weaken strong wage countries. Playing nations with strong environmental protection against countries with weak and so on.

If we are to have sustainable economies in a sustainable world, then a one world democratic government is a fundamental part of this.

That is rubbish. We now have the internet ... next is total transparency of our monetary system so political parties will be revealed if they are doing their bidding of the corporations that donate to them, or if they are doing the job voters voted them in for.

The status quo is government by corporation ... this is what a one world democratic government will stop.

Making sewage and other rubbish costs free would have a bigger effect on household budgets. So If the hard right are so sympathetic with everyday Australians, rather than carbon polluting billionaires, they would take a stand on sewage.

Alan Jones just spoke about this. It's utterly ridiculous, wrong, hypocritical and contradictory. Where was Bob Brown when John Howard was being called Little Johnny, and being made fun of because of his looks? Where was Bob Brown when Pauline Hanson was being attacked? And those two deserved it far less than Gillard. They didn't tell blatant lies, weren't arrogant beyond belief, and have utter contempt for Australians and our democracy. In present times, why isn't Brown defending the attacks on Mr Abbott for his ears and budgie smugglers? Is it just because those three are from the right, and Gillard from the left?

Australia is supposed to be a democracy, but the ALP and Greens have undermined and spat in the face of democracy. John Howard took the GST to a new election before imposing it. Not the case with Gillard and the carbon tax.

What rubbish.

Hard Right Abbott is going to the next election saying he will repeal the cost of sewage for all Australians. He will repeal the cost of rubbish collection for households. The will make dumping rubbish free for all, so to reduce the cost on Australian households.

So to say the charging of dumping of rubbish is undemocratic, you are ignoring the facts.

Wow what a good argument. you should use that to convince the population lol
;D ;D

Making sewage and other rubbish costs free would have a bigger effect on household budgets. So If the hard right are so sympathetic with everyday Australians, rather than carbon polluting billionaires, they would take a stand on sewage.

No we will stick with the carbon tax thanks. You can go with the sewage thing though.

Sure, you stick with the lack of knowledge of how profit margins remain profit margins regardless of cost. I will stick with reality and knowledgable in the fact that I know what makes my prices rise and escpecially of how I want Australian politics and elections to work.

Earlier, Labor MP Nick Champion said Senator Brown and the Opposition should stay out of Labor’s affairs.

“It’s not his job (Booby Brown) to talk about the Labor Party,” he told Sky News.

“He can go jump off a jetty with his opinions, really.”

Mr Champion said he supported Ms Gillard “100 per cent”.

Democracy simply wouldn't get a guernsey........

Look at how easily 'democracy' is bought and sold as is.  If we then expand that to cover the whole globe, where do you go if things are not to your liking?  There is nowhere to run, nowhere to hide from your rulers and their megalomaniacal dictates.
