Title: One of the three of the piracy act
Post by olde.sault on Jan 17th, 2012 at 6:34am

arrested by police as he disembarked.

Apparently one had not payed $5000 in fines and, without being aware of this fact, that's what I called them "criminals".

A truck with 6 kids at the back, cheered this example of Australian heroes.

The idiot on the radio this morning stated he was not sorry, and would do it again if he could.
This is what happens when consequences to not match the actions.

No.

If ANYONE gets a 'bill', it should be the Japanese government.

No-one else.

What a pro-crime remark!

With voters like you, no wonder the country is going to the dogs!

If these three want to defend the indefensible, how about looking around at local cruelty such as shoving pets out of vehicles, pets that slowly starve or get run over by traffic?

What about rescuing bears in China that sit their lives in a small cage and have bits of them cut off?

A truck with 6 kids at the back, cheered this example of Australian heroes.

Unfortunately the Japanese government did not transport these people to sea, nor did they provide the equipment to illegally board the Japanese vessel.
And certainly the Japanese did not ask to be illegally boarded at sea.
The Sea Shepherd group did that.

Pot/Kettle....

As I have stated repeatedly, I support the aims
of these people, but not their methods.

However, legal is NOT always right, and right
is certainly not always legal.

If the Japanese weren't doing the wrong thing, none of
this would even be necessary, it is THEIR responsibility.

Don't try to read a pro-crime agenda that
doesn't exist into my comments.

And please don't try to assume how I vote.

A Japanese cargo ship at sea minding it's own business IS doing the right thing.
That cargo ship is not a whaler and has no harpoon guns, yet it was boarded.
And 'doing the wrong thing' is a subjective remark only and is purely in the eye of the beholder.
That's why we have laws in the first place.

so two wrongs make a right then according to that logic..

boarding another ship is piracy... someone boarded a ship and BORROWED a bag of ice...from a friend.... he was charged with stealing... he had no right to board his boat anymore than he has a right to enter his house.

its that simple..we have embassies in foreign countries.. they fly their own countries flag and come under their own countries laws..

no one has the right to walk in and thrown acid on the floors.. or leave protest notes..

its just not on... let them go to Japan and attack the govt...and see what happens. they wouldnt dare.

The section I highlighted shows how ridiculous your argument is. Whether or not the Japanese are in the wrong is not the point. Two wrongs don't make it right, anyway! We can't have idiotic vigilantes running around acting like the Navy or Police, performing illegal boardings of vessels that they neither have the authority nor the training to safely and legally carry out. They should be billed by the Australian Government and their assets sold to recover the costs of this operation if they are unable to pay.

They all should be charged with piracy.
The Japs should have been encouraged by the government to take them back to Japan & try them their under their system & serve any sentence within a Japanese prison.
They boarded a foreign vessel in international waters, the Japs should really have shot them on sight after all isn't that what we do to Somalis?
And they are fighting for their livelihood, whilst I don't agree with whaling, piracy is not the way it will be stopped

The Navy will, if they approach a tanker or any other ships within the red area.

I've got a soft spot for Somalian pirates.  Firstly, pirates rule.  Secondly, they're bloody good at what they do.  It's one thing stealing someones i-pod or phone, but stealing a bloody supertanker, or cargo ship laden with tanks?  That's good.  Credit where credit is due.

Still, doesn't mean I wouldn't shoot them on sight if I had a stake in those ships.

God your a wanker sometimes.
I'm actually supporting the conservative line about these knuckleheads & you want to split hairs over whether the Australian Navy have shot Somali pirates.
And if you really cant work it out it was a "Royal" WE as in the West & yes the US & UK Navies have blow the crap out of quite a few.

You know how slow those tankers move/turn in the ocean? They get run down by speedboats that our own Water Police would struggle to keep up with. On top of that, they utilise AK-47 assault rifles, RPG's and a myriad of other weaponry. Think the crew are going to try being too heroic under that barrage? I think not. Hence, it's not something that you should speak of in any positive terms whatsoever.

You do know there is a direct corrilation between pirates & global warming

Stick to that line of thought smithy.
Your definitely onto something here. :)
Why hasn't the IPCC noticed this?
You may well have solved global warming smithy.
