Why does it matter if women aren't earning, saving and investing it? It doesn't make you happier. It does, however, make you healthier, make you safer, mean you live longer, you don't die in childbirth, you don't work til you die, you aren't subjected to the constant threat of violence or violence itself. It means you are an agent in your own life. I understand that lots of people feel that women have enough and that men are now getting the short end of the stick. If that's the case why NOT let women spare men the onerous task of being workhorses in charge of their own destiny and having responsibility for the women and children around them. Men should stop paying for brides, educate their daughters, let women do paid work and allow them to inherit property. I say, throw out the stick. Look at the frigging mess we're in.

Aaaanyhoo, this is all rather unfortunate, but once again, it's targetting the wrong people.  This isn't going to do any good publishing this in western nations - tell it to the indians, the africans, the chinese etc - basically everyone except whites.  Endlessly banging the drum to people who have already taken the message on board just risks alienating them.

If it's any consolation Sprintcyclist - not all women rip men off. Some of us prefer to have and manage our own money and don't need to get it from a man.

For some reason I always associate men and "their" money with sex. Perhaps it was the era I was brought up in - but once a man starts spending money on you - it's easy to think about how he expects you to pay it back.

Yes, you are correct Mantra, a man will generally spend more money on a pretty woman, and a pretty woman will generally expect to have more money spent on her.
That system has worked OK until the penalties involved became so overwhelming that it is no longer possible to give your loins any respect at all.

Yes, shoes are very serious business. They are about that which women would not be seen dead in (literally 000's to choose from), and choosing those for a man to die in.

But ask yourself: why do men fight?  Or should I say why do males of almost every species fight?

You could say you dont want men to fight for/over you but they do, and they always will.   And if they don't, some other band of men who are willing to fight will come in and take what they want.  I've seen enough david attenborough to notice a few patterns in male behaviour.

Break it down another step.  
Why do we needthe resources?  Just so we can acquire stuff for the sake of it?  or so we can acquire stuff that attracts the women?

Its why the alpha dog gets the pick of the females.  Its why there even is a pecking order.  Its why that pecking order escalates into war.  

But it all boils down to that basest impulse - to spread the seed.

i would have opposed female suffrage at the time the suffragettes were on the march for it and i still do
