Title: Christians Send Hate Mail To Primary School Post by falah on Sep 23rd, 2011 at 10:41am
HATE mail sent to a Perth primary school after it decided to stop reciting the Lord's Prayer at assemblies has been condemned as cowardly...
Edgewater Primary School, in Perth's northern suburbs, dropped its 25-year old tradition of reading the Lord's Prayer at its fortnightly assemblies following concerns from some parents that it breached the Education Act. Under the act, public schools must not promote one set of religious beliefs ahead of another. As required by the Department of Education and Training's religious education policy, the school held several school council meetings to consult with the parents and the local community before making its decision. It has been receiving abusive emails, letters and phone calls from around Australia since it sent a letter to parents on Monday informing them the prayer would no longer be read out. Premier Colin Barnett said yesterday the hate mail was unacceptable... Opposition education spokesman Ben Wyatt said it was despicable. "Anonymous hate mail is cowardly and completely not acceptable," he said. Primary Principals Association president Stephen Breen strongly rejected talkback radio claims the school had dropped the Lord's Prayer because of complaints by "immigrants". "It was their decision about a whole school assembly," Mr Breen said. "It's not a pandering to any minority groups. That's just silly." http://www.theaustralian.com.au/national-affairs/state-politics/school-hate-mail-as-prayer-dropped/story-e6frgczx-1226144044387 |

Meanwhile in the Muslim heartland:
How well do you know the Koran? Hand grenades and AK-47s for best Somali students Wednesday September 21 2011 A CHILDREN’S competition run by a Somali radio station featured hand grenades and AK-47 rifles among the top prizes for Koran-reciting and general knowledge. Andulus radio, which is run by the al-Shabab Islamist group, chose four children between the ages of 10 and 17 for the competition, which was held during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. First prize in the Ramadan competition was an AK-47 rifle and the equivalent of €500. The second prize-winners received an AK-47 and €360, while the third prize was two hand grenades and €290. The winners also got religious books (edukashun, edukashun, edukashun. Ed) Al-Shabab official Mukhtar Robow said at the prize-giving ceremony: “Youths should use one hand for education and the other for a gun to defend Islam.” This year's contest featured questions like "which war was Sheik Timajilic (a famous Shabab warrior) killed in?" Al-Shabab has previously been linked to Al-Qaeda and controls much of southern and central Somalia. According to the BBC, this is the third year the contest has been held. In previous years, when the competition was organised in the southern port of Kismayo, the first prize included an RPG (rocket-propelled grenade launcher). Insh'allah, innit? Islam's new intellectual flowering - want an RPG with that book, kiddie? ;D |

Given the way the Western media operates, the real story probably was that they got water pistols and little balloons.

Given the way your fellow Christian priests operate, you'd be hard pressed to find a 6 yo. virgin wouldn't you? Hence your jealousy. |
