Title: Heads Up! Post by Grey on May 4th, 2011 at 5:43am
It was by accident I caught one of my all time favourite movies just now and very fine it was too. So I reckon we need this thread. It was 'The African Queen', Bogie and Hepburn, they don't make 'em like that anymore.
So if anything great is coming up somewhere, sometime, give it the nod. |

Do try the new drama on ABC tonight - Qld anyway. Thorne.
Wrote a bit on it on the Breaking Bad thread, then remembered this one. Should be good - if well produced - and seems based on the novels about Thorne by Mark Billingham. They are pretty creepy, and the first episode tonight seems from the promos to stick reasonably close to his novel - Sleepyhead. Could be good. Cheers :) |

Thorne wasn't bad - it has promise.
But tonight onAbc1 we have , again, on late night movies , Basil R as Sherlock Holmes. Have caught the last two - is excellent.!! :) |

You really do need a set top box.
If you get one, watch Graham Norton on ABC2. |

Not a movie, but a new show. The Promise on SBS tonight at 8:30.
Tells the story of the Brits in Israel at its creation. It's supposed to be very good. |

The father of my friend Jill was there. He was one of the marines on the Exodus. One of the most gentlemanly Englishmen you'd ever meet. Only one thing raises his shackles, don't mention Leon Uris or Exodus, unless you want a rage filled ear bashing. |

Title: Re: Heads Up! Post by jalane33 on Nov 27th, 2011 at 10:33pm
no - not me..
but I would recommend 'The Hour' ...on abc1. Intriguing - with interesting characters - journalism in the 50's in Britain. a time of scandal and cold war machinations.. ;) |

It does sound like a good show anthrax - I was just too busy... reading a 'Jack Reacher' instalment, by Lee Child.
Good stuff.!!!!! |
