Title: Petition "Stop Gillard's Carbon Tax"
Post by Cockney Doll on Feb 28th, 2011 at 7:19pm
PDATE: Over FIVE THOUSAND Australians have already signed our petition - in under 48 hours!!! Keep spreading the word to all your friends, and make sure to "Like' us on Facebook, and follow us on Twitter!

In the leadup to the 2010 election, Prime Minister Gillard promised the Australian people that she would never introduce a carbon tax. On 23 February 2011 she broke this promise. In a deal with the Australian Greens, Prime Minister Gillard announced a multi-million dollar tax on carbon, with no offset in other taxes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5pzSvSCUZo&NR=1

This is a tax that will hurt every single Australian: electricity bills alone for the average family will go up by over $300 a year. But the real cost will be far greater than just electricity prices. The price of everyday day items will increase as the costs on doing business – transport, production and so on – will rise.

This is simply another grab for cash by a wasteful government that will do nothing to address climate change.

SIGN OUR PETITION AND HELP SEND CANBERRA A STRONG MESSAGE: AUSTRALIA CAN NOT AFFORD THIS TAX!

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight for Australia,
we shall fight on the heating seas and oceans,
we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our continent, whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight on the beaches,
we shall fight on the landing grounds,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender

The Lib/Nat Pollution Party Will Not Be Allowed To Kill Our Country

You know what, folks!?

The more I think about the bizarre developments of the past coupla days, the more it seems that: -

The Lib caucus have voted for Abbott's delusional 'plan' - to vow to fight (and repeal) the Gillard Govt's Carbon Price/Tax policy - in order to allow him to seal his own fate...

Action Man Abbo has gone into manic overdrive on this issue - as soon as he got a stronger-than-ever whiff of internal opposition over the racist antics of Morrison and himself in the wake of the Xmas Is boat tragedy and funerals...

Not only has he presumed to think and speak on behalf of the revolting people but he has obviously stopped listening to moderate pollies and seasoned political advisors...

Given the folly of opposing the NBN, Flood Levy and Carbon price, they're wise to cast him adrift and give him more than enough carbon and optic fibres to finish himself off...

"Nobody in NSW politics, on either side, can figure out why Gillard chose the dying weeks of the state Labor government to announce a great big new tax designed to change the weather."

That's it - the Green/Labor view of the world summed up perfectly: a new tax to change the weather.

One thing's for certain, the petrol-sniffing and bigoted media tart Tony Abbott is on another manic bender - so he's the face and voice of the NSW Libs for the next few weeks...

I'm not sure that O'Farrell & Co would be too pleased about that...

Well, you would 'think' that, totally discombobulated that you are.

Here's what the Labor guy who advises seasoned political advisors has to say:

"The hard truth of the last election was that neither Gillard nor Abbott won. The harsh reality for Gillard was that to form a government she had to get the Greens and a majority of the lower house independents to go with her. She negotiated well but when you are dealing with a whole bunch of people who like the idea of a carbon tax, you finish up making a promise to them to introduce one, and this is one promise you can't break or you are back at the polls in a flash."

...

"If I could be so bold as to give some advice to the Prime Minister: make the big decisions - about what the carbon price will actually be, what the compensation for the average punter will be for the inevitable hike in electricity prices, what industries will be assisted in making the transition - quickly. Your job in selling this tax is hard enough, but without answers to the hard questions, it is well nigh impossible. Oh, and by the way, include petrol and you're dead."

I think there is another way. In addition to the petition

I would suggest that you get those 5000 people to actually write a letter to

Martin Ferguson
159 High Street
Preston
VIC 3072

In which they express their will about the proposed Federal Carbon Tax.

Date:    /    / 2011

Martin Ferguson
159 High Street
Preston
VIC 3072

Dear Martin

I know that it is my duty to keep you informed of MY WILL on anything that comes before Parliament, or that should come before Parliament.

IT IS MY WILL that you take immediate action and abandon the proposed Federal Carbon Tax that is currently before Parliament.

Yours faithfully,

(signed)

insert your full name, address and date, as legal evidence that you are a constituent

When they have done this they should go to

http://yourwillbedone.info/index.php/expression-of-will-registrar/

Where they can make a declaration that they have expressed their will. This is an important step to let them know that we have a record of everyone that has expressed their will on this issue.

I believe doing it this way is far more effective than getting people to sign a digital petition.

Cheers
Michael

They are under quite a few unflattering pressures at the moment.

RACISM IS A BIG ONE.

(An article on that in the Australian today!)

They have nothing to offer the Australian people and now that the NBN debate has been settled( ...it most certainly has!! Many have labelled Abbott hyperbolic and this will stick unquestionably  ;D ) Julia has moved on to an issue she can really cement her identity on!

Go Julia!  ;)
