Another win for those defenders of the right to survive of every species but the human species.
I happen to live in an area that was formerly a very productive home for orchardists. They are sadly an endangered species.
Why? I hear you demand with eager voice.
Because the bat, bird and insect pest populations are putting them out of business.
Under Green influence they have gradually been prevented from taking the necessary steps to protect their crops from damage.
They are no longer allowed to net their trees with netting which will keep the pests out. While they were still allowed to do so, the populations had become so bad that the cost was enormous. Approaches to the govt for assistance were met with the argument that it was considered more economic to import fruit than subsidise the local industry.
In the case of the bat population, they have long since been prevented from shooting the pests.
The latest blow is that the most effective chemical spray to control fruit fly is to be banned from the market, again under Green influence.

The best thing we can do, while the spray is still available, is to take the greenies out and spray them, because they are every bit as destructive as the insect pests.

It`s sickening how the urban innocents fall for the spiel of the Australia haters.  They believe everything that these liars spin to them. Idiots. There is nothing dumber than the average city dweller.

No buzz, it doesn't have to appear on the Greens website to exist.....It's entirely possible for a 'true believer' to enact these sort of things just by being a member of the local council...with a Yes/No stamp...

The Federal Greens policy, no.

Local Greens policy - not sure but I know in the area I lived in, Mt Dandenong (20km from the bush fires and in a bush region) there were some very wonky council rules.  That been said, at the time there were only 2 Green councilmen on the Yarra Valley council.
