Title: Free digital TV channels Post by bogarde73 on Jan 30th, 2011 at 1:01pm
Casting my eye over the weekly program for the new channels, what I mostly see is a long procession of trashy American sitcoms which I didn't watch in the 70s 80s 90s & naughties and have no wish to watch now.
BUT I am impressed with Seven Two which runs a lot of old, quality UK shows. Also like the ABC News channel, but where I am it drops out half the time. Would watch The sports channel (One?) for the European soccer coverage except they shpw it at ungodly hours. So I'll go on collecting DVDs. |

You're lucky you can get it all the time.
When I said trashy American sitcoms, I exclude Seinfeld from that of course. I'm a big George Costanza fan. |

Seinfeld is a funny show, although i haven`t made my mind up if the characters are too over acted, or too realistic. :D

I wish they would put "Married with Children" back on....
What a classic that show was!!! The closest thing they have come to this is two and a half men, and even that's getting tired now...now that Charley is quite literally playing his own real-life character. *cringe* :P I like Big Bang theory, Scrubs, .... |

Admit it Carl, you just like the contours on jennies bottle...and Sam the Witches broomstick. Ok, admittedly, I don't mind both these shows myself, but prefer Bewitched to IDOJ. |

Title: Re: Free digital TV channels Post by Equitist on Jan 30th, 2011 at 2:37pm I wouldn't mind some re-runs of 3rd Rock (From the Sun) - and maybe Mork & Mindy! Northern Exposure too... |

Mork and mindy ARE on, either seven mate or the new eleven, not sure which one, but I've seen it as I channel surfed a couple of times this past week. |

I can't stand Robin Williams and could never tolerate Mork & Mindy. Now that was definitely Yank trash.
Welcome Back Kotter was good - but it hasn't been shown for years. I can't think of too many old shows that would be appealing today. The Addams Family and the Munsters were entertaining to a degree decades ago. The UK has produced some quality shows over the years. They're way ahead of the US in realism. |

I'm pretty sure Welcome Back Kotter is on 7Two.
