Post by imcrookonit on Sep 28th, 2010 at 8:40am Controversial pay packages - CBA chief Ralph Norris pay package increased 75 per cent to $16.1 million, including $9.2 million of long-term incentives. CBA argues his take home pay amounts to $6.8 million. - IAG boss Mike Wilkins was given an 11 per cent pay increase for last year, taking his total package to $4.3 million. This included $1.3 million of long-term incentives as IAG’s profit halved. - Paperlinx chief executive Tom Park was paid $2.7 million last year, including a $962,000 bonus despite overseeing a $225 million loss. - PMP boss Richard Allely’s remuneration jumped 193 per cent to $2.1 million helped by short-term and long-term bonus even after the printing company suffered a drop in volumes and the loss of customers over the past year. |

Makes no difference if the share holders have a problem or not - nothing they can do about it. Most probably do have a problem with it, the exception would be the ones on the same merry go round who are getting their back scratched in the same manner at the other end of the deal. |

No not just a whinge from me, I thought these people were supposed to be paid on performance. Yet they are paid this money and huge bonuses, when they oversee a loss. Is that not very strange?. Paid by the share holders on PERFORMANCE. Well you could have fooled me.

You arent exposing jack poo, its publically avaliable information and they dont make a secret of it. Maybe if you owned shares we might bother to listen, but at the moment you just sound like a jelous little man. |

Well they say these people are supposed to be paid on performance, do they not?. So if that is the case, why do they get paid so much?. Lets see, is that so they can sack workers, wait for the company to go down, and then walk away with suitcases full of money?.

What a lot of rubbish - Many are concerned at the greed and selfishness of this small sector. Taking huge increases as reward for failure has become the standard practice across the upper management spectrum. |

That's right. Don't criticize the corporate crooks because you must be jealous. I know of one case of a couple of bungling incompetent CEO's that were paying themselves handsomely whilst they were running their company into the ground and everyone else was losing money except for themselves :( It happens mate !! |

Learn a bit about corporations Nail. Boards appoint CEO's and set their salaries. If you have a problem take it out on the people creating them, the Boards appointed to act in the best interests of the shareholders. The CEO's are just cattle. |

Of course it happens, everything does, although success envy massively outnumbers CEO failure to the point of being a major weakness in our society. This handicap is sucking the soul out of our country and destroying our productivity. Australia can`t remain a quarry economy for ever. We need everyone to get some guts and have a bit of a go while we still can. |
