Ghana is in division 2 - the highest ranking country in Africa. When I saw a motorist arguing with a traffic cop, I thought to myself, yeah this must be a reasonably free country.

You've got to wonder why it is that, while we score well on rights and liberties, we're not big on press freedom.

I don't think any 'free' country really has much press freedom
The (mainstream) press are extremely externally and internally constrained on what they can and can't report on on a variety of topics |

I think press freedom may come down to FOI laws, protection of sources etc. I was surprised we topped the list on a few. Must be something to do with a laid back society.
