At Wyong Local Court yesterday, Tate pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and high-range drink-driving and was given a 12-month suspended jail sentence. Her licence was suspended for two years. She was ordered to pay $76 court costs but escaped a fine. Magistrate Glen Walsh said that he accepted findings of psychiatric and pre-sentence reports, which the court heard found she was diagnosed with depression after the deaths of her father and boyfriend. The court heard that Tate had "ceased alcohol" since discovering she was pregnant. Mr Walsh described her offence as "one of the worst cases, in my view" of driving in a dangerous manner but took into consideration her age, the fact it was her first offence and that she is now nine weeks pregnant. Tate declined to comment when approached outside the court.

How the hell did she escape without a fine, and only $76 costs?  Everyone else gets fined twice as much for going 11km/h over the limit, let alone 100k over while pissed.

It's just one rule for pregnant drug fked skanks and another for everyone else.

No truer words ever spoken, there`s a hard luck story behind every crime, road deaths are a hard luck story too.  The message this weak slap on the wrist sends to other kids, particularly the girls, "you`ll get off drink driving lightly if you`ve got a sob story".

She should have had at least three months in jail to think about her actions.

Disgraceful, and Judges wonder why we think they are out of touch.

This reminds me of a girl my sister went to school with.

Caught in an unregistered vehicle, going 130 in a 60 zone, drunk, drugs on her...A few other charges I think, too...

Toyah - with a name like that, she never had a chance.

Better chance than La Toya...

She should have got at least 1 year in jail.

If the above is correct she needs at least a month inside, the speeding alone should bear a larger fine.
