Independents start power talks
August 25, 2010 - 2:49PM

The three independent MPs and Green MP Adam Bandt have begun talks with the coalition and Labor over the future government.

They have handed a seven-point strategy to Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Opposition Leader Tony Abbott, which the independents say is a starting point for discussions.

The MPs want access to the latest Treasury budget figures as well as a commitment from both major parties that the government formed would commit to a full three-year term.

Mr Bandt, Bob Katter, Tony Windsor and Rob Oakeshott have said they will release the seven-point plan after the meetings at Parliament House in Canberra.

"Independent MP Rob Oakeshott says Opposition Leader Tony Abbott should reconsider the idea of a mixed-party government"

OMG...  ie,

Ok, you libs won, but can we at least have half?

Reminds me of Gillard declining another Public debate, though when her popularity took a dive, she badgered Tony for another, only for him to refuse.

Honestly, will this party stop at nothing in order to wet their willys?

It's clear to me, Labor don't want their foes meddling in their handy-work, this or delving into what they have been up-to for the past 3 years.

8-)
