Mostly performance issues.. Despite a strong start, and a brilliant 2007 campaign, the Labor Party just didn't manage to carry through successfully on most of their ideas and opportunities.... So, for the first time in 18 years as a voter, I voted for a party other than Labor.... |

I didn't vote 1 Liberal but I did put Liberal ahead of Labor. The reason is the economy, stupid. Labor has proven to be piss poor on economic policy and at least in the Liberals there are some capitalists left who understand free market economics.

There's no "Julia Gillard factor". I voted Liberal primarily because I don't like Julia Gillard and also because there was no other right wing party on the cards that approximates my views any closer than them. That and I suppose I perceive they may be more adept at handling the economy (but this is probably just puff).

Because they are not such a smacking cockup like labor is.
Because they are more focused Because they dont stab elected leaders in the back Because the have a history of supporting markets Because they don't kill industries with their interference |

Tell me 1 policy labor announced, implemented, is working as designed and came in on budget???
no policy meets that criteria. That is why I voted liberal. |

The best reason is more subtle. A labor supprter type 'Eduction'. THATS why we voted liberal. So that educAtion might involve more then surfing for porn on govt-supplied laptops. |

Seeing as the Labor government has been the most incompetent government in living memory, why wouldn't people vote for the other side. Is it really possible to do worse than labor has being doing? |

Why did I vote Liberal Skip?
Because the bottom line is, all the above aren't possible without a healthy economy, (ie, Health education etc)... Voting for Labor would have been like taking 10k to a prestige car dealership, just wasn't going to happen. :P |

I didn't vote Liberal, but I'm wondering why the man that was handing out Liberal Party pamphlets on Saturday did. He was big noting himself all day to anyone who would listen, shaking hands with the suited set etc., I got the impression that he was a 'fake' Liberal, then to prove my opinion right, at pack up time he brings his beaten up Ford Laser up to the gate.
I cannot imagine what he thinks the Liberal Party would do for him, their policies never have and never will benefit anyone from the lower/middle working class, and he was clearly not even working class. I'm not judging the man, just trying to work out his motives for siding with a group that is far removed from his life circumstances. |

Have you considered he may have been driving his son's battered, 'roughie' first car, so his wife could use the mercedes to take the kids to the soccer match???? |

When I seen a BER project in my old home town costing $1,005,000 for a 12 x 14m hall with no furniture, not one local tradesman used and the project already 6 months behind.
