Title: Thre greens agenda will have priotiry
Post by laborfornever on Aug 24th, 2010 at 10:56am
Given that labor will have to or has done a deal with the greens, it's obvious that the green agenda will be given priority as they'll just say, were not passing any legislation untill we deal with ......................

So what do you think will be the first policy they put up to pass???

Australia, welcome to your carbon tax and higher mining tax loss of recreational fishing areas shutting down of mines and farming etc, welcome to the thousands of boat ppl taking warm beds from aussies sleeping in cars, welcome to queer marriages on every corner we are seriously about to go down the tube.

If they get through this country is fkd.

Maybe next election people will see the perils of voting for these irrelevant minors like independants and greens.

Either way if the independants support a major party they will lose 50% of their support as most ppl voted for them as they did not want lib/lab, Next election will see the elimination of ferals and scatter brains like Katter he's a raving launatic.

How much is this result going to cost you??? there go 15000 fishing/boat/tourist realated jobs on the gold coast.

The ignorance shown here by those on the right is astounding.

A profits based tax on superprofitable mines won’t shut any of them down. The WA raising the royalty rate, a cost of production even on mines not yet producing, is certain to stop some new mines from starting and will lead to marginal mines being closed.

Yet from the right I heard nothing when Bartlett raised the royalties rate.

Ignorance, thy name is Liberal.

For once I agree with you L4never

Greens have so much in common with the three independent Nationals

-looking after rural and regional Australia
-protecting agricultural land from foreign ownership
-protecting Australian agriculture from G.M crops considering non G.M crops will be at a premium price in the future.
-sustainable water for environment, agriculture and personal use.
-healthy environment to keep fishing, agriculture, tourism etc industries booming so jobs are guaranteed.
-broadband roll out
-funding when drought and flood effect regional areas.
-renewable energy in regional areas so to help employment shift from the old carbon economy
-a fair share for minning profits going to all Australians.

Yes the Green Agenda will be forward by Greens, Nat independents and perhaps a green independent from Hobart.

Greens win, you obviously don't live in a coastal area with a fair sized fishing fleet that substantially supports the local economy .  The Greens policies of indiscriminate marine Parks will decimate this industry, and subsequently the loss of jobs will impact on the entire community.

Compared to fishing out local fish stock. The sustainable path is ensuring fish stock so fishers have an income.

Actually, the Greens are trying to prolong the health and productive life Australia's coastal industries - by slowing reckless plundering to restore a semblance of environmental balance...

Seriously, the wholesale removal of large and/or predatory marine species around the world, is leading to low higher order fish stocks and dangerous plagues of lower order species - and this is only one of the ways in which humans are recklessly-speeding towards collective Darwin Awards!

BTW Dupree, I do live in a coastal area - the local economy of which is already suffering from dramatically-reduced fish stocks and associated environmental challenges!

Neither of you understand the fishing industry.

They do NOT deplete the fish stocks that are their livelihood.  They respect the marine environment and its products far more than any greenie who has never been involved with the fishing industry does.

Gone are the days, when local families controlled local marine (and agricultural) industries - Collins-cum-Macquarie St bankers and large multinationals are systematically plundering from afar - to maintain their own bottom lines...and then they amorally move on to destroy other environments and communities...

No mention of the one uniformly major enviromental element, the one factor that is the principal denominator in every environmental issue?
Population control!

Boat people are NOT going to take your jobs and force you to sleep in your car. They are here to work, they will create jobs and stimulate the economy.
We also won't see gay marriage anytime soon. We will have it eventually, but not while Labor or the Libs are running the joint.

The Greens and Independents who have gained seats in the upper and lower houses are the only pollies who truly represent the people. Labor and Liberal only represent themselves and spend most of their 3 yrs after each election wasting taxpayers money trying to get re elected.
The rise of the Greens and Independents mean the beginning of the end to the 100 yrs of corruption and back room deals that have been the hall mark of the born to rule inbreeds and the corrupt union officials.
Hey..maybe the taxpayers dollar may actually come back to benefit everyone in this country and not just Howards and Rudds baby making machines in the outer suburban marginal seats  :)

The latte set greens voters and the independents have never been further apart. The greens have always relied on attacking the independants consituency being farmer, graziers and fishermen to garner the vote of the uneducated lette set.

Now the Greens and Labor are asking them to jump the fence and come over to the loony side? Never going to happen unless it is in writing behind closed doors where no one can see...but that would be nothing new. Peter Garrett is still a minister despite his inept performance... and I suspect because he was given a "guarantee"...."Oh hang on Pete, you're not really a completely useless moron- we'll just downgrade your portfolio- but it's not a demotion"
;D
