In the face of Australians soaring personal debt, Gillard had this to say yesterday at the opening of Top Ryde City shopping centre when she  declared that "when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping".

Some heady words for all of us.
In other words, don't give a crap. Governmet debt and personal debt are extremely different animals.
Government (what we own) is practically nothing.
Personal debt has inflated almost exponentiallty since Howard said that he would reduce foreign (personal) debt.

Forget about Government debt, we don't own anything. It's all been sold off remember?

Go shopping, may as well.
