Title: Here is a true Lib Post by mozzaok on Aug 20th, 2010 at 10:40am
In the Broadband thread, where we have all the Lib supporters explaining why not developing infrastructure that the vast majority of the nation can access, is a great idea from Tony Abbott.
Like all Libs, they believe that only the people who live in areas that telcos can make a big profit from deserve decent services. I saw this post from White Dove, which so encapsulated the Liberal mindset of, "bugger you jack, I'm alright", that I just had to share it. Quote:
So, the Lib mindset that anyone who is disadvantaged just has to work harder. Liberal voters know that all successful people are that way because they work harder, privileged and advantaged upbringings do not come into it. Sick? Bad luck, if you are not rich enough then flick off and die. Bad broadband service? Bad luck, you should have chosen wealthy parents, and inherited property in Double Bay, They have quite good service thank you very much. Poorly educated? Bad luck, you should have gone to a pwivate school like Belinda and Jewemy, they are doing very nicely in their father's company, and both drive V8 SUV's, because they simply could not bear to be sitting down low with the little people. Unfortunately there actually are some people who do think like my silly "joke" Liberal stereotype, but what is far sadder is that other normal people buy into their line of bull that showing compassion for your fellow human beings is something that should be reserved for church fetes and the like. The shock of seeing White Dove assume that people who vote Labor do so because they are lazy and stupid, and need a Labor government to give them a handout is frankly offensive, which is why I showed how silly such stereotyping is with my alternate version. I do see a very clear delineation between the Left and Right of politics, although both parties are actually right these days, just one is much farther right than the other, but the difference between right and left is that the right promote selfishness as an honourable quality, and the left promote empathy and compassion for others, as honourable qualities. This is the dirtiest campaign I have ever seen, and all the filth I have seen and heard has emanated from Lib supporters, and that speaks volumes to me, about just what sort of government we could expect from Abbott. A government without compassion, but worse than that, it will also be a government that will ignore the human impact of it's economic decisions, and real people will suffer, badly. |

Abbott admits to being human and being depressed throughout the campaign, but then he wants to potray himself as being superhuman and kiss babies in the shopping centres at 3am.
You're a right idiot Tony. |

Equ, you are a communist, socialist left-wing ideologist... who would sooner invest in your own future, this opposed to what's in the best interest of a majority of Australians.
Now either you're a billionaire, (not millionaire), or are utterly delusional. I'm inclined to think the later... Sorry! 8-) |

Title: Re: Here is a true Lib Post by Equitist on Aug 20th, 2010 at 11:12am LOL, Woody et all - if you care about your family's and your nation's future, then you'll think twice and hard...about the risks of supporting a nutjob like Abbott for PM... PS No need to apologise, Mellie - ditto! |

With Gillard reinventing her personality "the real newer than new Gillard" every other day, you question Tony Abbotts mental stability?
ahahhah....Lest we forget some of Labors other 'unbalanced' leaders.... You are delusional pal...pull your head in. It's not a case of your lacking the required information to make the right choice. You know it, and I know it. 8-) |

Equ, like Bob Brown, you have a serious bout of "dittosis"...Might I suggest you take it to one of only 3 of the 137 Labors super-clinics they promised last election?
Or will you have one of their planned off-shore cyber-doctors make a house-call via web-cam? 8-) Labors and Obamas Telehealth & NBN roll-out, .... Enough to make you sick! Dr two-Bob Brown calling.. 8-) |

Title: Re: Here is a true Lib Post by nichy on Aug 20th, 2010 at 11:51am Homes to pay heavy price for internet from NBN Stuart Kennedy and Mitchell Bingemann From: The Australian August 20, 2010 12:00AM HOME owners face a heavy slug to distribute the ultra-fast internet access promised by Labor's National Broadband Network around the house. Projections for the take-up of the government's $43 billion NBN could prove optimistic once households realise they face costs of up to $3000 to fully exploit the potential of the super-fast internet. It looks as though many of us won't be able to afford Gillard's "tele-Health plan" anyway. |

The difference is that when we were faced with the choice of supporting nutso latham, or vote against the labor party, we chose to vote against it, and not support a party being led by a loon. You prattle on about Gillard knifing Rudd, after spending 2 and a 1/2 years saying he was the worst PM in our history, but develop total amnesia about how Abbott knifed Turnbull to take the Lib leadership. |

For people who post on politics boards you seem to have no idea how our system works. Sprint the people of Australia have never & will never under the current system vote for the PM. They vote for a party & if that party wins the leader becomes PM. There is NO difference between the outsting of Rudd & Turnbull, both went to the party room for a vote both lost end of story. |

THE school computer program, courses to upgrade teachers' skills, and trade training centres would disappear under spending cuts by a Tony Abbott government.
About $1.5 billion in environmental programs, including plans to clean up dirty power stations and produce a "green" car, would be halted. Moves to build 23 GP super clinics would be scrapped and eHealth, a scheme to put medical histories on centralised computer records, would be dropped. http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/national/liberals-to-slash-it-spending-in-schools/story-e6frea8c-1225868893475 The (Ballan) clinic boasts a full-time dentist and dental nurse, with Dr Marianne Brownlee taking appointments from last Thursday. Federal Health Minister Nicola Roxon officially opened the clinic last Monday. She said the GP Super Clinic team of healthcare professionals would provide integrated health-care services to meet the health needs and priorities of the Ballan community. “The GP Super Clinic funding was used to improve information technology links to state-funded and diagnostic services, provide dental chairs, and improve access for the frail, aged and people with disabilities,” she said. Ballarat federal Labor MP Catherine King said the provision of dental care in Ballan was a crucial additional benefit. “There are 650 Ballan and district residents on the Ballarat Health Service public dental clinic waiting list,” she said. “Having a full-time dentist in Ballan will eliminate waiting lists and also the need for Ballan residents to travel to Ballarat.” http://moorabool-leader.whereilive.com.au/news/story/first-super-clinic-open-in-ballan/ |

The reality is that people DO vote for the leader and the party. they chose to do so via their local candidate. and if your candidate is a perennial back-bencher (liek mine) then you most definately DO vote for Abbot or Gillard. |

my local liberal member is an arrogant, unhelpful twat, and while I would like to vote Liberal, I won't vote for him. So no one got my vote. He'll still be returned in this seat though.
I voted Liberal 1 above the line for the Senate, they're probably twats too, but I don't know them, so it was a bit easier. What was particularly funny was the Lib Dems on the Senate ticket, right over at the extreme right hand side, just about to fall off the edge. How apt. Bye-bye, bye-bye, bye-bye Bobby-good-bye!! ;D |

For what it is worth, just an observation.
I just watched the Hockey impromptu speech on CH 9. Very interesting. What he said in the emotion of the moment, without forethought and choreography. He was excited at the prospect of upheaval and chaos within the Labor Government and the thought that the Liberals would gain Government next election. There was no mention or concern about Australia or Australia's future, rather Glee at a dysfunctional government which will harm Australia.** Think about what was shown when the facade slipped** |
