Former Pakistani Intel Chief Fears World War Three Is Imminent

- Global clique, an “ultra-Imperial club” shaping world affairs
- Destabilization exercise known as ‘war on terror’ could lead to World War Three
- All of Islamic world could be provocateured into “international jihad”
- 9/11 was a fabricated pretext to dominate the middle east and beyond
- Intelligence claims exposed by Wikileaks are “diabolical nonsense”

Former Pakistani General and intelligence chief Hamid Gul appeared on the Alex Jones Show yesterday for a full hour in what turned out to be a fascinating extended interview, addressing the major geopolitical issues that are shaping modern history.
Gul, who served as the director general of Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence during 1987-89 and worked with the CIA in the covert war against the Soviets in Afghanistan, is a wealth of knowledge on the so called ‘war on terror’.
Gul spoke on a host of issues, beginning with his version of events surrounding the recent Wikileaks expose of US and Afghan military intelligence.
“My version (of events) is not going out to America, I’ve been denied the visa to travel to America. These people will not let me into America because they are afraid that I will speak the truth. People will listen to the truth…” Gul stated in response to the claims that he is personally “quarter backing” attacks on US forces in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
“Fareed Zakaria (of CNN), he recorded me for twenty minutes and he put out only six minutes of my version.” Gul continued.

“That is not fair, because I was informed, and especially the things I said which were stark realities, and he wanted obviously to keep the American people in dark about these things.”
Gul asserted that Afghan intelligence is “still infested by the old Communist die hards”, who have an axe to grind against him, owing to his role in ousting the Soviet Union from the region. Gul added that it is a ridiculous notion to believe that he, at 74 years of age and retired, has any role in the military failures of the US in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
“Speak the truth, you have failed because your own policy makers have not come up with the recipe that was required. Your own Generals were not up to the tasks which were given to them, so why don’t you accept the failure rather than rub the blame on someone else?” he said.
“This is diabolical nonsense, and if this is the kind of intelligence that America is basing its policies on in this region, then God help America. This is false, it is totally fabricated and I’ll tell you who are the elements involved in it.” Gul said.
The retired General blamed the fact that the military is heavily dependent on private contractors, even for intelligence gathering – contractors who only have an incentive to expand the wars and further profit from them.
“How can they be so foolish, the CIA, the FBI, and to top it all there is this Task Force 373, which has been indulging in massive civilian casualties. They have been killing people left right and centre. Every time they are given the information, they have bombed wedding parties, they have bombed funeral processions, they have bombed innocents, and they have even bombed the hospitals.”
“So you can imagine that the intelligence based on the information provided by security contractors has resulted in this massive violation of human rights, it has been anti-human, it has destroyed everything that the American people and the American Constitution ever stood for.” Gul urged.
“They think that anyone criticizing their policy is the enemy. This is totally wrong, this is a misconception. We work together with the CIA, we work together with the Americans, I have a lot of friends there, I respect them and my advice could also be useful.” Gul said.
The former ISI chief, who trained with British intelligence officers, spoke of an “ultra-Imperial club” of British, Israeli and Indian intelligence that is “leading American policy making by the nose” and “does not want America to flourish inside their hearts”.
“The American people are exploited for this dark agenda. It is only a handful of people, they a clique only by my assessment, who are indulging in this exercise.” Gul added.
Gul also noted that the real agenda in the middle east is multifaceted.
Gul says the global clique’s ‘war on terror’ on one hand allows for the corporate empire that now controls America to establish itself in the centre of the region to tap the Caspian oil basin. Secondly, Gul believes it is an operation to prevent China from moving into the region. Thirdly, it functions to prevent any new power from emerging in the region based on the Islamic principles of egalitarianism, equality and freedom.
“If these principles are adopted then Imperial powers will really have no place to hide.” Gul stated.
And finally, it seeks to provide a security shield to the State of Israel by promoting destabilization inside neighbouring countries.
“This is going to hurt them more than it is going to hurt us.” Gul said, speaking of how the actions of the global cabal are running against the grain of ancient codes of honour for the people of the region.
“This evokes even stronger sentiments than the religion,” Gul stated. “Therefore these people are not going to forgive all this,.....

..., and I’m afraid that we will have lost this region forever to America, to the West… and this struggle is going to end with a very big disaster for American reputation, for their honour, for their self respect, and we don’t want to have this done, I can assure you I am genuinely telling you this.” Gul added.
“If they get embroiled in Pakistan they will keep on staying here for a long time. If they expand this war, a fight is going to be put up against America, whether in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iran. The larger the area of conflict and the longer the period of conflict, the established power, the one that is equipped with more firepower, cannot win – this is a lesson from history – it is immutable.”
“My fear is that if Pakistan is put to the corner and pushed against the wall – Pakistan being an Islamic state – could also declare international jihad.” Gul noted with great trepidation.
“Now if that Islamic state declares international jihad, it becomes binding on the muslims of the rest of the world to come out in support of jihad. It will change modern history altogether if that call is given.”
“They would have us believe that Iran is our enemy. Iran is not our enemy. There has been no hostility between Iran and Pakistan… This is an utter lie, it is only to malign Iran. But I tell you Israel is hell bent to draw America into a wider war attacking Iran. If they go in unilaterally to attack some targets, even drop a few bombs here and there, I think it will flare up a conflict that it will not be able to control.” Gul stated, following up with a harrowing prediction of what will follow.
“America is likely to get sucked into this war, and this may turn out to be the third world war. It would be a disaster of the first order, it must be avoided at all costs.”
“I don’t know if Russia or China could be held back. This could be an inferno that would consume so many things, and corporate America would be the biggest sufferer – where are they going to sell their gold and how are they going to pick up the oil?” Gul stated.
The General urged that if the world is to avoid such devastating conflict, people everywhere must not accept the propaganda being thrown at them by the elite clique attempting to shape global affairs.
“There is no clash of civilizations, this is a mindset that has been created unfortunately. …As far as Islam is concerned, why is it being looked upon as an enemy, as an adversary? Islam encompasses Christianity and Judaism, it is not an entity in itself, but actually it encompasses all the three religions of the book, so there has to be amicable peace among us.”
“There is no need for the dark impulse in the American system. I won’t say the American people, because they are so good, it is in the American system that the dark impulse has to be removed – and it can only be removed by the American people.”
Gul previously appeared on the Alex Jones show to share his contention that the 9/11 attack was an inside job, laying out details that were censored during a CNN interview on the same week.
Gul reiterated his stance on the 9/11 attacks, that it was a black operation to be used as a pretext for entering Afghanistan and using it as a launch pad to enter Pakistan and dominate the region.
Fresh food that lasts from eFoods Direct (Ad)
Gul also spoke about the evidence that the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks were a Western controlled intelligence operation that was to be blamed on Pakistan, a claim he made shortly after the attacks which has since been vindicated by mainstream reports that US and Indian undercover agents were involved in the attacks.
The General also spoke on the death of former Pakistan leader Benazir Bhutto, reasserting his previous analysis that Bhutto was eliminated by a neocon controlled assassination squad after she “became rebellious” toward globalist interests.

General Albert Pike and World War III

Juri Lina - extracted from Under the Sign of the Scorpion

General Albert Pike was an exceptionally evil man. During the American Civil War, when he served under the Confederate flag, his army composed of Indian bands from different tribes, perpetrated such atrocious massacres that Great Britain threatened to enter the war "for humanitarian reasons". Consequently, the Confederate president Jefferson Davis (1809_ 1889) was forced to intervene against his own general and disband his troops.

Albert Pike was one of the founders of the infamous racist organisation, the Ku Klux Klan. He was the first Grand Dragon of the Klan and wrote the anthem and the rules of the organisation. The freemasons have erected a monument. in honour of Albert Pike in Judiciary Square in central Washington D.C. The plaque on the statue presents Pike as a "soldier" and a "poet".

Albert Pike was very enamoured with the idea of world dominion. In time, he became an Illuminatus of the highest (33rd) degree and in his mansion in Little Rock, he made plans to gain control over the world with the aid of three world wars and several revolutions.

In a letter to Mazzini, dated the 15th of August 1871, Pike broadly outlines his long-term plan for the seizure of power in the whole world. One might expect the IlIuminati to be more careful with their papers, so that their plans were not made public - but anyone who knows their history also knows that humanity wiIl never take warning in time. Professor Carroll Quigley (also an Illuminatus) realized this. Public opinion, the majority of politicians, and social scientists are at any event unable to accept facts which contradict their deeply held belief that they understand and control all that happens in society. Both Lenin and Hitler openly revealed their real aims years before they ever came to power. Did the nations heed the warning? No, they preferred to go on sleeping. It is no different today. The Illuminati know this.

Pike's plan was ingeniously simple. The inherent antagonism between different ideologies was to be stirred up and made to explode in three world wars and three revolutions. The first world war was to destroy the three European empires, at that time being the last remaining bulwarks against Illuminism. One of these (Russia) Was to be made a centre of atheist totalitarianism (Communism). The second world war was to erupt from heightened tensions between the Jewish race (and its spiteful Zionism) and extreme European nationalism (Nazism and Fascism). This war would weaken Europe economically and politically and Communism would expand and become as strong as all Christendom, but not stronger, until the time was up for the final destruction of society. A third reason the second world war was to create a Jewish state in Palestine. Gradually it would be possible to thereby heighten the tensions between Judaism and Islam until tbey broke out in a war which would bring in all of the world powers. The three revolutions, which would aid this carefully planned dissolution of all human civilisation, were the Russian, the Chinese and Indo-Chinese. (Des Griffin, "Descent Into Slavery'" South Pasadena 1984, pp. 38-39.) The reader will realise. that most of this evil plan already become reality. Concerning the last stage, General Pike wrote following:
'We shall unleash the Nihilists and Atheists and provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that moment on without compass (direction), anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view, a manifestation which will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time.'

The reader will remember how atheist Communism in the Soviet Union suddenly-came to an end in 1991. More about this at the end of the book.

No wharfy, too bullshitty....

As far as I know, you are capable of holding down a job (and a fairly responsible one at that) and able to feed yourself, pay bills etc...

So why is it that you instantly believe ANY and all idiotic ramblings from any website.......even after the 'absolutely true, take it to the bank' predictions have failed to come to pass....again and again and again????

Infowars, and the other sites you quote have predicted:

US will attack North Korea as soon as the test their missile......the US didn't.

US to attack Iran within 2 weeks at most (at least 3 times so far)...but NO attack

5000 UFOs will appear in our skies on a particular day ( October sometime I think it was) in 2009........No ufos

The StarGate has opened of the coast of Yemen...but no one has seen it..

How can a person with enough IQ to tie their shoes......and no mental instabilities(cough cough) keep on believing the stuff these guys publish, when they are wrong EVERY single time?????

I think I wrote something up about the 'future' upon another topic a few months back: going into the WW3 ...oh and the WW4,5,6,7 & 8 that follow to some extent.
I don't think the above mentioned extracts are the basis for 'the' WW3 excuse. Instead it is just a very good example of how Religion has a Gun problem (as if it was the military) just like Music has a Drug problem (as if it was the medical).

WW3 will happen and it will happen like a dirty public telephone call that starts a global pandemic as well.

But don't think it will be all out nuclear warfare, especially when we now live in an age where Nuclear Warheads can be nullified halfway to their target as easy as playing an Xbox game. Now you know why the USA and China are on borrowed time.

Personally, I can't wait for the stoush between Papua New Guinea/Solomon Islands/Vanuatu/E-Timor/Micronesian Federation VERSES Indonesia. (my money is on the Melanesians). Luckily for Indonesia, the Fijians will come to their rescue and prevent them from being totally annihilated via diplomacy on behalf of the United Nations.

Want me to continue? Down Under ...but always a Day Ahead. ;) ;D

There are far more signs of another world war than there are of peace on earth.

WWIII is inevitable. It will most likely follow the next great depression, which is becoming more real every day.

Predicting the outbreak of war somewhere, sometime is about as perspicacious as predicting an epidemic, a flood, fire or famine sometime in the future, somewhere in the world.

Too many of us are genetically predisposed towards desire for conflict... As Hitchens once put it "Our prefrontal lobes are too small while our adrenal glands are too big".

It doesn't necessarily follow that because we can see signs of a war looming that we want it. Foolish old men start wars (usually for financial gain), and send young men to die in them.

No one in their right mind would want to be involved in war.

I'd bet you're right there... He believes it. And its not all that surprising or uncommon if he does... There's no idea thinkable , no matter how stupid, that no one would believe in it... Could be. If you repeat something enough you can start believing it. It probably started as a troll type activity on one level, but he sucked himself into believing his own nonsense.

When I was at high school, we had a small anarchist revolutionary group that plotted mock terrorist attacks. It was just a big joke and we called each other comrade and made rockets fitted with explosive charges etc but we never fired them at anything too important. We even had che cguevara style hats.  I was the leader, and I regarded it as just a joke.  One day in class, a teacher asked me if I was an anarchist. I answered "no, of course not" It envoked a few gasps from others in the group at the time, and some of them didn't speak to me again.

What started off as a joke became reality for some people. It made me think. It was a formative moment at the age of 15.

Of course our resident light-being seems to have a few fluoros loose, but he could be a victim of his own joke.

Maybe it was their first encounter with a 'sellout'. It could've been very traumtic for the honest ones u know?
That doesn't mean that you'd needed to go to the point of firing actual rockets, but you definitely lacked balls, and for that you were seen as a weakling.

Why Men Love War

by William Broyles Jr.

I last saw Hiers in a rice paddy in Vietnam. He was nineteen then--my wonderfully skilled and maddeningly insubordinate radio operator. For months we were seldom more than three feet apart. Then one day he went home, and fifteen years passed before we met by accident last winter at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington. A few months later I visited Hiers and his wife. Susan, in Vermont, where they run a bed-and -breakfast place. The first morning we were up at dawn trying to save five newborn rabbits. Hiers built a nest of rabbit fur and straw in his barn and positioned a lamp to provide warmth against the bitter cold.

"What people can't understand," Hiers said, gently picking up each tiny rabbit and placing it in the nest, "is how much fun Vietnam was. I loved it. I loved it, and I can't tell anybody."

Hiers loved war. And as I drove back from Vermont in a blizzard, my children asleep in the back of the car, I had to admit that for all these years I also had loved it, and more than I knew. I hated war, too. Ask me, ask any man who has been to war about his experience, and chances are we'll say we don't want to talk about it--implying that we hated it so much, it was so terrible, that we would rather leave it buried. And it is no mystery why men hate war. War is ugly, horrible, evil, and it is reasonable for men to hate all that. But I believe that most men who have been to war would have to admit, if they are honest, that somewhere inside themselves they loved it too, loved it as much as anything that has happened to them before or since. And how do you explain that to your wife, your children, your parents, or your friends?

That's why men in their sixties and seventies sit in their dens and recreation rooms around America and know that nothing in their life will equal the day they parachuted into St. Lo or charged the bunker on Okinawa. That's why veterans' reunions are invariably filled with boozy awkwardness, forced camaraderie ending in sadness and tears: you are together again, these are the men who were your brothers, but it's not the same, can never be the same. That's why when we returned from Vietnam we moped around, listless, not interested in anything or anyone. Something had gone out of our lives forever, and our behavior on returning was inexplicable except as the behavior of men who had lost a great perhaps the great-love of their lives, and had no way to tell anyone about it.

In part we couldn't describe our feelings because the language failed us: the civilian-issue adjectives and nouns, verbs and adverbs, seemed made for a different universe. There were no metaphors that connected the war to everyday life. But we were also mute, I suspect, out of shame. Nothing in the way we are raised admits the possibility of loving war. It is at best a necessary evil, a patriotic duty to be discharged and then put behind us. To love war is to mock the very values we supposedly fight for. It is to be insensitive, reactionary, a brute.

But it may be more dangerous, both for men and nations, to suppress the reasons men love war than to admit them. In Apocalypse NowRobert Duvall, playing a brigade commander, surveys a particularly horrific combat scene and says, with great sadness, "You know, someday this war's gonna be over. " He is clearly meant to be a psychopath, decorating enemy bodies with playing cards, riding to war with Wagner blaring. We laugh at him--Hey! nobody's like that! And last year in Grenada American boys charged into battle playing Wagner, a new generation aping the movies of Vietnam the way we aped the movies of World War 11, learning nothing, remembering nothing.

Alfred Kazin wrote that war is the enduring condition of twentieth-century man. He was only partly right. War is the enduring condition of man, period. Men have gone to war over everything from Helen of Troy to Jenkins's ear. Two million Frenchmen and Englishmen died in muddy trenches in World War I because a student shot an archduke. The truth is, the reasons don't matter. There is a reason for every war and a war for every reason.

For centuries men have hoped that with history would come progress, and with progress, peace. But progress has simply given man the means to make war even more horrible; no wars in our savage past can begin to match the brutality of the wars spawned in this century, in the beautifully ordered, civilized landscape of Europe, where everyone is literate and classical music plays in every village cafe. War is not all aberration; it is part of the family. the crazy uncle we try--in vain--to keep locked in the basement.

Consider my own example. I am not a violent person. I have not been in a fight since grade school. Aside from being a fairly happy-go-lucky carnivore, I have no lust for blood, nor do I enjoy killing animals, fish, or even insects. My days are passed in reasonable contentment, filled with the details of work and everyday life. I am also a father now, and a male who has helped create life is war's natural enemy. I have seen what war does to children, makes them killers or victims, robs them of their parents, their homes, and their innocence--steals their childhood and leaves them marked in body, mind, and spirit.

I spent most of my combat tour in Vietnam trudging through its jungles and rice paddies without incident, but I have seen enough of war to know that I never want to fight again, and that I would do everything in my power to keep my son from fighting. Then why, at the oddest times--when I am in a meeting or running errands, or on beautiful summer evenings, with the light fading and children playing around me--do my thoughts turn back fifteen years to a war I didn't believe in and never wanted to fight? Why do I miss it?

I miss it because I loved it, loved it in strange and troubling ways. When I talk about loving war I don't mean the romantic notion of war that once mesmerized generations raised on Walter Scott. What little was left of that was ground into the mud at Verdun and Passchendaele: honor and glory do not survive the machine gun. And it's not the mindless bliss of martyrdom that sends Iranian teenagers armed with sticks against Iraqi tanks. Nor do I mean the sort of hysteria that can grip a whole country, the way during the Falklands war the English press inflamed the lust that lurks beneath the cool exterior of Britain. That is vicarious war, the thrill of participation without risk, the lust of the audience for blood. It is easily fanned, that lust; even the invasion of a tiny island like Grenada can do it. Like all lust, for as long as it lasts it dominates everything else; a nation's other problems are seared away, a phenomenon exploited by kings, dictators, and presidents since civilization began.

And I don't mean war as an addiction, the constant rush that war junkies get, the crazies mailing ears home to their girlfriends, the zoomies who couldn't get an erection unless they were cutting in the afterburners on their F-4s. And, finally, I'm not talking about how some men my age feel today, men who didn't go to war but now have a sort of nostalgic longing for something they missed, some classic male experience, the way some women who didn't have children worry they missed something basic about being a woman, something they didn't value when they could have done it.

I'm talking about why thoughtful, loving men can love war even while knowing and hating it. Like any love, the love of war is built on a complex of often contradictory reasons. Some of them are fairly painless to discuss; others go almost too deep, stir the caldron too much. I'll give the more respectable reasons first.

Part of the love of war stems from its being an experience of great intensity; its lure is the fundamental human passion to witness, to see things, what the Bible calls the lust of the eye and the Marines in Vietnam called eye smacking. War stops time, intensifies experience to the point of a terrible ecstasy. It is the dark opposite of that moment of passion caught in "Ode on a Grecian Urn": "For ever warm and still to be enjoy'd/ For ever panting, and forever young. " War offers endless exotic experiences, enough "I couldn't smacking believe it! "'s to last a lifetime.

Most people fear freedom; war removes that fear. And like a stem father, it provides with its order and discipline both security and an irresistible urge to rebel against it, a constant yearning to fly over the cuckoo's nest. The midnight requisition is an honored example. I remember one elaborately planned and meticulously executed raid on our principal enemy--the U.S. Army, not the North Vietnamese--to get lightweight blankets and cleaning fluid for our rifles repeated later in my tour, as a mark of my changed status, to obtain a refrigerator and an air conditioner for our office. To escape the Vietnamese police we tied sheets together and let ourselves down from the top floor of whorehouses, and on one memorable occasion a friend who is now a respectable member of our diplomatic corps hid himself inside a rolled-up Oriental rug while the rest of us careered off in the truck. leaving him to make his way back stark naked to our base six miles away. War, since it steals our youth, offers a sanction to play boys' games.

War replaces the difficult gray areas daily life with an eerie, serene clarity. In war you usually know who is your enemy and who is your friend, and are given means of dealing with both. (That was, incidentally, one of the great problems with Vietnam: it was hard to tell friend from foe--it was too much like ordinary Life.)

War is an escape from the everyday into a special world where the bonds that hold us to our duties in daily life--the bonds of family, community, work, disappear. In war, all bets are off. It's the frontier beyond the last settlement, it's Las Vegas. The men who do well in peace do not necessarily do well at war, while those who were misfits and failures may find themselves touched with fire. U. S. Grant, selling firewood on the streets of St. Louis and then four years later commanding the Union armies, is the best example, although I knew many Marines who were great warriors but whose ability to adapt to civilian life was minimal.

I remember Kirby, a skinny kid with JUST YOU AND ME LORD tattooed on his shoulder. Kirby had extended his tour in Vietnam twice. He had long since ended his attachment to any known organization and lived alone out in the most dangerous areas, where he wandered about night and day, dressed only in his battered fatigue trousers with a .45 automatic tucked into the waistband, his skinny shoulders and arms as dark as a Montagnard's.

One day while out on patrol we found him on the floor of a hut, being tended by a girl in black pajamas, a bullet wound in his arm.

He asked me for a cigarette, then eyed me, deciding if I was worth telling his story to. "I stopped in for a mango, broad daylight, and there bigger'n hell were three NVA officers, real pretty tan uniforms. They got this map spread out oil a table, just eyeballin' it, makin' themselves right at home. They looked at me. I looked at them. Then they went for their nine millimeters and I went for my .45. "

"Yeah?"I answered. "So what happened

"I wasted 'em," he said, then puffed on his cigarette. Just another day at work, killing three men on the way to eat a mango.

How are you ever going to go back to the world?" I asked him. (He didn't. A few months later a ten-year-old Vietcong girl blew him up with a command-detonated booby trap.

War is a brutal, deadly game, but a game, the best there is. And men love games. You can come back from war broken in mind or body, or not come back at all. But if you come back whole you bring with you the knowledge that you have explored regions of your soul that in most men will always remain uncharted. Nothing I had ever studied was as complex or as creative as the small-unit tactics of Vietnam. No sport I had ever played brought me to such deep awareness of my physical and emotional limits.

One night not long after I had arrived in Vietnam, one of my platoon's observation on posts heard enemy movement. I immediately lost all saliva in my mouth. I could not talk; not a sound would pass my lips. My brain erased as if the plug had been pulled--I felt only a dull hum throughout my body, a low-grade current coursing through me like electricity through a power line. After a minute I could at least grunt, which I did as Hiers gave orders to the squad leaders, called in artillery and air support, and threw back the probe. I was terrified. I was ashamed, and I couldn't wait for it to happen again.

The enduring emotion of war, when everything else has faded, is comradeship. A comrade in war is a man you can trust with anything, because you trust him with your life. "It is," Philip Caputo wrote in A Rumor of War "unlike marriage, a bond I that cannot be broken by a word, by boredom or divorce, or by anything other than death." Despite its extreme right-wing image, war is the only utopian experience most of us ever have. Individual possessions and advantage count for nothing: the group is everything What you have is shared with your friends. It isn't a particularly selective process, but a love that needs no reasons, that transcends race and personality and education--all those things that would make a difference in peace. It is, simply, brotherly love.

What made this love so intense was that it had no limits, not even death. John Wheeler in Touched with Fire quotes the Congressional Medal of Honor citation of Hector Santiago-Colon: "Due to the heavy volume of enemy fire and exploding grenades around them, a North Vietnamese soldier was able to crawl, undetected, to their position. Suddenly, the enemy soldier lobbed a hand grenade into Sp4c. Santiago-Colon's foxhole. Realizing that there was no time to throw the grenade out of his position, Sp4c., Santiago-Colon retrieved the grenade, tucked it into his stomach, and turning away from his comrades, and absorbed the full impact of the blast. " This is classic heroism, the final evidence of how much comrades can depend on each other. What went through Santiago- Colon's mini for that split second when he could just a easily have dived to safety? It had to be this: my comrades are more important than my most valuable possession--my own life.

Isolation is the greatest fear in war. The military historian S.L.A. Marshall con ducted intensive studies of combat incidents during World War 11 and Korea and discovered that, at most, only 25 percent of the men who were under fire actually fired their own weapons. The rest cowered behind cover, terrified and helpless--all systems off. Invariably, those men had felt alone, and to feel alone in combat is to cease to function; it is the terrifying prelude to the final loneliness of death. The only men who kept their heads felt connected to other men, a part of something as if comradeship were some sort of collective life-force, the power to face death and stay conscious. But when those men cam home from war, that fear of isolation stayed with many of them, a tiny mustard seed fallen on fertile soil.

When I came back from Vietnam I tried to keep up with my buddies. We wrote letters, made plans to meet, but something always came up and we never seemed to get together. For a few year we exchanged Christmas cards, then nothing . The special world that had sustain our intense comradeship was gone. Everyday life--our work, family, friends--reclaimed us, and we grew up.

But there was something not right about that. In Vietnam I had been closer to Hiers, for example, than to anyone before or since. We were connected by the radio, our lives depended on it, and on eachother. We ate, slept, laughed, and we terrified together. When I first arrived in Vietnam I tried to get Hiers to salute me, but he simply wouldn't do it, mustering at most a "Howdy, Lieutenant, how's it hanging" as we passed. For every time that I didn't salute I told him he would have to fill a hundred sandbags.

We'd reached several thousand sandbags when Hiers took me aside and said "Look, Lieutenant, I'll be happy to salute you, really. But if I get in the habit back here in the rear I may salute you when we're out in the bush. And those gooks a just waiting for us to salute, tell 'em who the lieutenant is. You'd be the first one blown away." We forgot the sandbags and the salutes. Months later, when Hiers left the platoon to go home, he turned to me as I stood on our hilltop position, and gave me the smartest salute I'd ever seen. I shot him the finger, and that was the last I saw of him for fifteen years. When we met by accident at the Vietnam memorial it was like a sign; enough time had passed-we were old enough to say goodbye to who we had been and become friends as who we had become.

For us and for thousands of veterans the memorial was special ground. War is theater, and Vietnam had been fought without a third act. It was a set that hadn't been struck; its characters were lost there, with no way to get off and no more lines to say. And so when we came to the Vietnam memorial in Washington we wrote our own endings as we stared at the names on the wall, reached out and touched them, washed them with our tears, said goodbye. We are older now, some of us grandfathers, some quite successful, but the memorial touched some part of us that is still out there, under fire, alone. When we came to that wait and met the memories of our buddies and gave them their due, pulled them tip from their buried places and laid our love to rest, we were home at last.

For all these reasons, men love war. But these are the easy reasons, the first circle the ones we can talk about without risk of disapproval, without plunging too far into the truth or ourselves. But there are other, more troubling reasons why men love war. The love of war stems from the union, deep in the core of our being between sex and destruction, beauty and horror, love and death. War may be the only way in which most men touch the mythic domains in our soul. It is, for men, at some terrible level, the closest thing to what childbirth is for women: the initiation into the power of life and death. It is like lifting off the corner of the universe and looking at what's underneath. To see war is to see into the dark heart of things, that no-man's-land between life and death, or even beyond.

And that explains a central fact about the stories men tell about war. Every good war story is, in at least some of its crucial elements, false. The better the war story, the less of it is likely to be true. Robert Graves wrote that his main legacy from World War I was "a difficulty in telling tile truth. " I have never once heard a grunt tell a reporter a war story that wasn't a lie, just as some of the stories that I tell about the war are lies. Not that even the lies aren't true, on a certain level. They have a moral, even a mythic, truth, rather than a literal one. They reach out and remind the tellers and listeners of their place in the world. They are the primitive stories told around the fire in smoky teepees after the pipe has been passed. They are all, at bottom, the same.

Some of the best war stories out Of Vietnam are in Michael Heir's Dispatches One of Heir's most quoted stories goes like this: "But what a story he told me, as one pointed and resonant as any war story I ever heard. It took me a year to understand it: "'Patrol went up the mountain. One man came back. He died before he could tell its What happened.'

" I waited for the rest, but it seemed not to be that kind of story; when I asked him what had happened he just looked like he felt sorry for me, buggered if he'd waste time telling stories to anyone as dumb as I was."

It is a great story, a combat haiku, all negative space and darkness humming with portent. It seems rich, unique to Vietnam. But listen, now, to this:

"We all went up to Gettysburg, the summer of '63: and some of us came back from there: and that's all except the details. " That is the account of Gettysburg by one Praxiteles Swan, onetime captain of the Confederate States Army. The language is different, but it is the same story. And it is a story that I would imagine has been told for as long as men have gone to war. Its purpose is not to enlighten but to exclude; its message is riot its content but putting the listener in his place. I suffered, I was there. You were not. Only those facts matter. Everything else is beyond words to tell. As was said after the worst tragedies in Vietnam: "Don't mean nothin'." Which meant, "It means everything it means too much." Language overload.

War stories inhabit the realm of myth because every war story is about death. And one of the most troubling reasons men love war is the love of destruction, the thrill of killing. In his superb book on World War II, The Warriors,J. Glenn Gray wrote that "thousands of youths who never suspect the presence of such an impulse in themselves have learned in military life the mad excitement of destroying." It's what Hemingway meant when he wrote, "Admit that you have liked to kill as all who are soldiers by choice have enjoyed it it some time whether they lie about it or not."

My platoon and I went through Vietnam burning hooches (note how language liberated US--we didn't burn houses and shoot people: we burned hooches and shot gooks), killing dogs and pigs and chickens, destroying, because, as my friend Hiers put it, "We thought it was fun at the time." As anyone who has fired a bazooka or an M-60 machine gun knows, there is something to that power in your finger, the soft, seductive touch of the trigger. It's like the magic sword, a grunt's Excalibur: all you do is move that finger so imperceptibly just a wish flashing across your mind like a shadow, not even a full brain synapse, and I poof in a blast of sound and energy and light a truck or a house or even people disappear, everything flying and settling back into dust.

There is a connection between this thrill and the games we played as children, the endless games of cowboys and Indians and war, the games that ended with "Bang bang you're dead," and everyone who was "dead" got up and began another game. That's war as fantasy, and it's the same emotion that touches us in war movies and books, where death is something without consequence, and not something that ends with terrible finality as blood from our fatally fragile bodies flows out onto the mud. Boys aren't the only ones prone to this fantasy; it possesses the old men who have never been to war and who preside over our burials with the same tears they shed when soldiers die in the movies--tears of fantasy, cheap tears. The love of destruction and killing in war stems from that fantasy of war as a game, but it is the more seductive for being indulged at terrible risk. It is the game survivors play, after they have seen death up close and learned in their hearts how common, how ordinary, and how inescapable it is.

I don't know if I killed anyone in Vietnam but I tried as hard as I could. I fired at muzzle flashes in tile night, threw grenades during ambushes, ordered artillery and bombing where I thought tile enemy was. Whenever another platoon got a higher body count, I was disappointed: it was like suiting up for the football game and then not getting to play. After one ambush my men brought back the body of a North Vietnamese soldier. I later found the dead man propped against some C-ration boxes; he had on sunglasses, and a Playboy magazine lay open in his lap; a cigarette dangled jauntily from his mouth, and on his head was perched a large and perfectly formed piece of poo.

I pretended to be Outraged, since desecrating bodies was frowned on as un-American and counterproductive. But it wasn't outrage I felt. I kept my officer's face on, but inside I was... laughing. I laughed--I believe now--in part because of some subconscious appreciation of this obscene linkage of sex and excrement and 'death; and in part because of the exultant realization that he--whoever he had been--was dead and I--special, unique I me--was alive. He was my brother, but I knew him not. The line between life and death is gossamer thin; there is joy. true joy, in being alive when so many around you are not. And from the joy of being alive in death's presence to the joy of causing death is, unfortunately, not that great a step.

A lieutenant colonel I knew, a true intellectual, was put in charge of civil affairs, the work we did helping the Vietnamese grow rice and otherwise improve their lives. He was a sensitive man who kept a journal and seemed far better equipped for winning hearts and minds than for combat command. But he got one, and I remember flying out to visit his fire base the night after it had been attacked by an NVA sapper unit. Most of the combat troops I had been out on an operation, so this colonel mustered a motley crew of clerks and cooks and drove the sappers off, chasing them across tile rice paddies and killing dozens of these elite enemy troops by the light of flares. That morning, as they were surveying what they had done and loading the dead NVA--all naked and covered with grease and mud so they could penetrate the barbed wire--on mechanical mules like so much garbage, there was a look of beatific contentment on tile colonel's face that I had not seen except in charismatic churches. It was the look of a person transported into ecstasy.

And I--what did I do, confronted with this beastly scene? I smiled back. 'as filled with bliss as he was. That was another of the times I stood on the edge of my humanity, looked into the pit, and loved what I saw there. I had surrendered to an aesthetic that was divorced from that crucial quality of empathy that lets us feel the sufferings of others. And I saw a terrible beauty there. War is not simply the spirit of ugliness, although it is certainly that, the devil's work. But to give the devil his due,it is also an affair of great and seductive beauty.

Art and war were for ages as linked as art and religion. Medieval and Renaissance artists gave us cathedrals, but they also gave us armor sculptures of war, swords and muskets and cannons of great beauty, art offered to the god of war as reverently as the carved altars were offered to the god of love. War was a public ritual of the highest order, as the beautifully decorated cannons in the Invalids in Paris and the chariots with their depict ions of the gods in the Metropolitan Museum of Art so eloquently attest Men love their weapons, not simply for helping to keep them alive, but for a deeper reason. They love their rifles and their knives for the same reason that the medieval warriors loved their armor and their swords: they are instruments of beauty.

War is beautiful. There is something about a firefight at night, something about the mechanical elegance of an M -60 machine gun. They are everything they should be, perfect examples of their form. When you are firing out at night, the red racers go out into tile blackness is if you were drawing with a light pen. Then little dots of light start winking back, and green tracers from the AK-47s begin to weave ill with the red to form brilliant patterns that seem, given their great speeds, oddly timeless, as if they had been etched on the night. And then perhaps the gunships called Spooky come in and fire their incredible guns like huge hoses washing down from the sky, like something God would do when He was really ticked off. And then the flares pop, casting eerie shadows as they float down on their little parachutes, swinging in the breeze, and anyone who moves, in their light seems a ghost escaped from hell.

Daytime offers nothing so spectacular, but it also has its charms. Many men loved napalm, loved its silent power, the way it could make tree lines or houses explode as if by spontaneous combustion. But I always thought napalm was greatly overrated, unless you enjoy watching tires burn. I preferred white phosphorus, which exploded with a fulsome elegance, wreathing its target in intense and billowing white smoke, throwing out glowing red comets trailing brilliant white plumes I loved it more--not less --because of its function: to destroy, to kill. The seduction of War is in its offering such intense beauty--divorced from I all civilized values, but beauty still.

Most men who have been to war, and most women who have been around it, remember that never in their lives did they have so heightened a sexuality. War is, in short. a turn-on. War cloaks men in a coat that conceals the limits and inadequacies of their separate natures. It gives them all aura, a collective power, an almost animal force. They aren't just Billy or Johnny or Bobby, they are soldiers! But there's a price for all that: the agonizing loneliness of war, the way a soldier is cut off from everything that defines him as an individual--he is the true rootless man.

The uniform did that, too, and all that heightened sexuality is not much solace late it night when the emptiness comes.

There were many men for whom this condition led to great decisions. I knew a Marine in Vietnam who was a great rarity, an Ivy League graduate. He also had an Ivy League wife, but lie managed to fall in love with a Vietnamese bar girl who could barely speak English. She was not particularly attractive, a peasant girl trying to support her family He spent all his time with her, he fell in love with her--awkwardly informally, but totally. At the end of his twelve months in Vietnam he went home, divorced his beautiful, intelligent, and socially correct wife and then went back to Vietnam and proposed to the bar girl, who accepted. It was a marriage across a vast divide of language, culture, race, and class that could only have been made in war. I am not sure that it lasted, but it would not surprise me if despite great difficulties, it did.

Of course. for every such story there are hundreds. thousands, of stories of passing contacts, a man and a woman holding each other tight for one moment, finding in sex some escape from the terrible reality of tile war. The intensity that war brings to sex, the "let us love now because there may be no tomorrow," is based on death. No matter what our weapons on the battlefield, love is finally our only weapon against death. Sex is the weapon of life, the shooting sperm sent like an army of guerrillas to penetrate the egg's defenses is the only victory that really matters. War thrusts you into the well of loneliness, death breathing in your ear. Sex is a grappling hook that pulls you out, ends your isolation, makes you one with life again.

Not that such thoughts were anywhere near conscious. I remember going off to war with a copy of War and Peace and The Charterhouse of Parma stuffed into my pack. They were soon replaced with The Story of 0. War heightens all appetites. I cannot describe the ache for candy, for taste: I wanted a Mars bar more than I wanted anything in my life And that hunger paled beside the force that pushed it, et toward women, any women: women we would not even have looked at in peace floated into our fantasies and lodged there. Too often we made our fantasies real, always to be disappointed, our hunger only greater. The ugliest prostitutes specialized in group affairs, passed among several men or even whole squads, in communion almost, a sharing more than sexual. In sex even more than in killing I could see the beast, crouched drooling on its haunches, could see it mocking me for my frailties, knowing I hated myself for them but that I could not get enough, that I would keep coming back again and again.

After I ended my tour in combat I came back to work at division headquarters and volunteered one night a week teaching English to Vietnamese adults. One of my students was a beautiful girl whose parents had been killed in Hue during the Tet Offensive of 1968. She had fallen in love with an American civilian who worked at the consulate in Da Nang. He had left for his next duty station and promised he would send for her. She never heard from him again. She had a seductive sadness about her. I found myself seeing her after class, then I was sneaking into the motor pool and commandeering a deuce-and-a-half truck and driving into Da Nang at night to visit her. She lived in a small house near the consulate with her grandparents and brothers and sisters. It had one room divided by a curtain. When I arrived, the rest of the family would retire behind the curtain. Amid their hushed voices and the smells of cooking oil and rotted fish we would talk and fumble toward each other, my need greater than hers.

I wanted her desperately. But her tenderness and vulnerability, the torn flower of her beauty, frustrated my death-obsessed lust. I didn't see her as one Vietnamese, I saw her as all Vietnamese. She was the suffering soul of war, and I was the soldier who had wounded it but would make it whole. My loneliness was pulling me into the same strong current that had swallowed my friend who married the bar girl. I could see it happening, but I seemed powerless to stop it. I wrote her long poems, made inquiries about staying on in Da Nang, built a fantasy future for the two of us. I wasn't going to betray her the way the other American had, the way all Americans had, the way all men betrayed the women who helped them through the war. I wasn't like that. But then I received orders sending me home two weeks early. I drove into Da Nang to talk to her, and to make definite plans. Halfway there, I turned back.

At the airport I threw the poems into a trash can. When the wheels of the plane lifted off the soil of Vietnam, I cheered like everyone else. And as I pressed my face against the window and watched Vietnam shrink to a distant green blur and finally disappear, I felt sad and guilty--for her, for my comrades who had been killed and wounded, for everything. But that feeling was overwhelmed by my vast sense of relief. I had survived. And I was going home. I would be myself again, or so I thought.

But some fifteen years later she and the war are still on my mind, all those memories, each with its secret passages and cutbacks, hundreds of labyrinths, all leading back to a truth not safe but essential. It is about why we can love and hate, why we can bring forth Fe and snuff it out why each of us is a battleground where good and evil are always at war for our souls.

The power of war, like the power of love, springs from man's heart. The one yields death, the other life. But life without death has no meaning; nor, at its deepest level, does love without war. Without war we could not know from what depths love rises, or what power it must have to overcome such evil and redeem us. It is no accident that men love war, as love and war are at the core of man. It is not only that we must love one another or die. We must love one another and die. War, like death, is always with us, a constant companion, a secret sharer. To deny its seduction, to overcome death, our love for peace, for life itself, must be greater than we think possible, greater even than we can imagine.

Hiers and I were skiing down a mountain in Vermont, flying effortlessly over a world cloaked in white, beautiful, innocent, peaceful. On the ski lift up we had been talking about a different world, hot, green, smelling of decay and death, where each step out of the mud took all our strength. We stopped and looked back, the air pure and cold, our breath coming in puffs of vapor. Our children were following us down the hill, bent over, little balls of life racing on the edge of danger.

Hiers turned to me with a smile and said, "It's a long way from Nam isn't it?"

Yes.

And no.

Also summed up very well in "The hurt locker" locutius. A woman's point of view of what men actually are. ..a very tuned in woman.
If there are miracles to happen, then they won't come directly through poetic words, soundly advice, a charasmatic leader, or invented religions.

This is such a good article but I apologise as I did not think it would take up so much space. I have read many times that many men as they age feel they have missed out on an important experience if having not gone to war in the same way that women feel who have not experienced child birth..I think there is a large amount of truth in that.

Amadd, the Hurt Locker I MUST get out and watch..There are too many good reviews to this movie.

Yes I think that 'the hurt locker' compliments that article in the way that we are bent to survival and purpose regardless of anything else..anything more seemingly rational that is.
Nearly everything in the movie seems to be an irrational act, but it renders pramagtism as being irrational.
There was hardly a bad guy or an enemy to be seen in the movie, and that was astounding considering the gravity of the conflicts. Only a woman could see it that way.
It's a very powerful flick that highlights empathy in a magified manner.

That's what I'm hoping for from Julia.. to show something real and not all of this crap about women wanting to be men..that sh!t don't work for any of us.

I remember going to the air show just before the (not so democratic decision for) Iraq war, and was so encapsulated by the power of those great aircraft that I said.."Jeez, we've really gotta use this stuff. It'd be a crime not to."
..And imagine if you'd done loads of training to fly one of those things? You'd be champing at the bit to bomb your neighbor's house if they had ants on their bins that trespass your property.i

That doesn't mean that you'd needed to go to the point of firing actual rockets, but you definitely lacked balls, and for that you were seen as a weakling.

No, I just regarded it as a joke that I had started and had got out of control. I was only 15, and I wanted to get out of it anyway and the opportunity presented itself. The others took it too seriously, and maybe that's why I wanted to get out of it. I just used it to illustrate the fact that people will believe anything.

I understand the situation at that age, but your peers were obviously expecting you to show some rebelion and you let down your comrades.

The ability to have control is the age to have control. I'm not surprised at all that they felt extremely betrayed.
Surely you knew them well enough to know that they were looking to greater things? ..Just like a rock band that may become the next U2 or something.
Remember Silverchair? They were at their best when they were under 18.

To give it up to a teacher is arghhh..it's horrible.
So the only intent that you ever had was to suck in your pretended comrades? Have you been bestowed with Jew honours as yet?

Jeez, you really sold 'em out big time.
I hope that you are now rich in monetary terms, otherwise your lack of ethics would prove to be less than useless. How much for the little girl?

I think "It is the Light" got stuck somewhere before the birth canal and had to be removed like an Alien via C-Section.
He's obviously asleep now with something attached to his face.

Wow, big deal - so the Economy is gonna skyrocket outta control in the name of Inflation ...the Great Inflation. After 10 years of Mugabe laughing "You thought I had problems!", the Economy will finally drift back down from outer space. After this, things will start to get a bit testy amongst nations ...for one thing, China will need resources and Siberia will be considered 'North China'. It goes on from there.

So we will have World War 3 - another big deal. Obviously there are a lot of people who enjoy war and live for it. Well if I was a Nurse, then it would be like me wishing for a global Pandemic where only Medical Staff are allowed in the 'contaminated' areas. Personally, I wouldn't wish that upon anyone and the fact that I would just grimly do it, is because I made the choice to be who I was in regards to better and more worthwhile things pertaining to nursing. There are more constructive things to do as a Military personnel, than go to war. (like help their fellow Greenies out and protect the Lesser Beings of this planet from extinction at the hands of Poachers and illegal Fisherman ...rather than enslave themselves to the whim of Politics ...but that why we have wars I guess - eh ;))

Personally I thought the Hurt Locker is one of the most over-hyped peices of trash riding the novelty of a female director doing a war movie. It was so boring in its depth beyond the 'scenarios' that are thrown at the audience in a step by step fashion, that I couldn't bother finishing the movie. It was so obvious a PROPOGANDA movie, it was almost pathetic to see the Hollywood Actors nominate it out of fear for reprisal, in the face of the more Internationally acclaimed and popular Avatar.

Anyway, I can't wait for the two Alien Prequels to come out!! :)

Or just at the least do everybody else a favour and think before you write something so the rest of us don't have to suffer the consequences of reading something so moronic and pointless. If you think what It.is.the.light writes about is boring, keep your opinion to yourself and go have a cry somewhere else. The most amusing aspect of your comment is you feeling 'sorry' for It.is.the.light. I mean somebody with your intelligence feeling sorry for anybody is as humorous as watching a dog take a poo on a dead horse and then eating it up afterwards.

After you die maybe the world might awaken from this disgraceful blinded state of mind with one less moron on this planet. Just might do the trick. If your willing go jump off something high, head first to ensure the appropriate outcome, that might even prevent the war.

Message From Archangel Michael, April 2010

Through Rev. Michelle Coutant

“Truth, Integrity, And The Twelve Rays”

Dear Ones,

As you stand in your truth and integrity you make a great leap towards empowering yourself to integrate the vibrations of the fifth dimension. It is of vital importance for each of you to learn, know, and integrate this wisdom. When those around you are acting and reacting within the vibrations of the third dimension, you must hold your vibrations and stand within your strength and courage, and remain in your truth and integrity. You serve as the example for those around you. You serve as the example and are opening the pathway for them to follow you. Your brothers and sisters are searching within, searching deeply at this time, for their own truth and wisdom. This truth begins first within the essence of being right with Self, for each of you. Being right with Self must begin, with truth and integrity, living each day as the light of God, as the God Self which you are. You, in your essence as God, know only truth, you know only integrity, and you know only love. In each Now moment, each thought, each action will be observed by those around you, and will have a great impact on their beliefs and their actions. Know that your light, your vibrations expand around you and will lift up those around you as you are true to God within you. As you are right with Self, you expand these vibrations outward to your family, friends, neighbors and community. All will benefit from your increased awareness, truth and integrity.

The qualities and virtues and attributes of God are within you, if you choose to bring them forth on a daily basis. Focus completely on the vibration of love. Within the vibration of love you will find every quality, aspect and facet of the God that you are. As you focus on the vibration of love, these qualities, aspects and virtues will expand into your awareness and your daily life. Be the vibration of love, in the Now moment. You must awaken each morning and immediately bring your focus into your heart center. This begins the process of being right with Self, as you center yourself within your heart. As you are right with Self, you will find that you are within your heart center in the Now, and all the qualities, virtues and attributes you desire are available to you. These qualities, virtues and attributes are those of love, wisdom, creativity, service, truth, integrity, intuition, humility, peace, balance and harmony, joy, abundance, vibrant health, strength, courage, inspiration, faith, and trust. You are in the knowing that you are these virtues and attributes, which are the virtues and attributes of God, and you are God. Focus on developing these virtues and attributes each day.

Spend time Dear Ones, working to bring your chakras into balance and harmony. You must continue to release all that no longer serves your highest good and the highest good of all creation. Within your chakras are the virtues, qualities, and aspects of your God Self in the highest expression. As you release the lower vibrations, and integrate these virtues and attributes and bring yourself into balance and harmony, as you become right with Self, your spine will become a blazing column of light and you will become a blazing column of light as you radiate the light of God to humanity.

Begin to call forth the twelve Rays which have been given to you as a gift to help you integrate and be the God Source. These twelve Rays are the highest aspect of God and are available to each and every one of you. You may use the twelve Rays to cleanse and heal your physical vessels and to cleanse and heal your mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies. Call on the first red Ray of Divine Will which I and my Lady Faith radiate to humanity. You will strengthen your ability to create and you will to go forth as an empowered light of God. The second blue Ray is the ray of illumination and wisdom and will help you integrate the vibrations of the fifth dimension. Call on the third yellow Ray, the active intelligence, the inner wisdom which is within you. The fourth emerald green Ray will help you heal and come into balance and harmony in your emotional and mental bodies, and stimulate the creativity of the arts within you. The fifth orange Ray incorporates the wisdom of concrete science and knowledge. The sixth indigo Ray is the ray of devotion, service, and forgiveness. Call on the sixth Ray to stimulate your intuition and your clear hearing and clear seeing, associated with the sixth chakra. Call upon the seventh Ray to open your crown chakra and allow the light of God to illuminate you as you integrate your God Self.

Title: Re: World War III
Post by it_is_the_light on Aug 24th, 2010 at 6:52pm
It is the violet Ray of transformation and transmutation. The eighth Ray, sea foam green and violet, will help you to cleanse and heal your four bodies and bring clarity to your daily experience. Call on the ninth turquoise Ray for the activation of your thymus and the integration of your heart, thymus, and throat into the Solar Power Center which is your center and bridge for your lower chakras and your higher chakras. The pearlescent tenth Ray will help you call forth and build your light body and you may call on this Ray for peace and joy. The eleventh Ray, iridescent peach, is your bridge to the higher dimensions. It is your access to your rainbow bridge to your Soul and your Divine I Am Presence. Spend time working with this Ray, actively building your rainbow bridge, filling this bridge with light, as you integrate your Soul, and your Divine I Am Presence. You must also build your rainbow bridge of light down into Mother Earth to ground yourself, as you also help Mother Earth build her rainbow bridge of light. The twelfth opalescent gold Ray is the Ray of illumination, the Ray of the God Source and contains all the other Rays, yet not equal amounts of each Ray. This Ray will help you be, and integrate all the qualities and attributes which you seek to be, as you expand your Self, and be God.

Dear Ones, there are many tools available for each of you, and you will find these Rays to be most valuable in your quest for mastery, but you must become familiar with them, and you must diligently use them, and call them in to help yourselves return to balance and harmony. Go the distance, and integrate all that is being offered to you. We have offered so many varied tools so that you will access and use the ones which most resonate with you, as are there are many paths back to the One. However, all paths back to the One are based on the virtues, attributes, and qualities of the Creator. You will find these virtues and attributes within the twelve Rays, and you will find that truth and integrity, will lead you further into the knowledge and wisdom of these virtues and attributes.

I am Archangel Michael, and I bring you this truth.

Don't worry ...er, 'Don't Worry'. I said ALMOST.
Maybe its the way It_is_the_Light writes his somewhat vain posts that have probably been plagerised from other sources. He comes across as wanting to be seen as something beautiful, something all knowing.
Well you know what.
Spirituality is an act of Fashion ...nothing more and nothing less. So I guess It_is_the_Light might need to come to grips with the fact that I'm a Wizard of Oz and I just love breaking down nuff-nuffs like this into plain Aussie speak ...so to speak.

"Oh what light thy window breaks ...it is the east and"
---hold on, sorry. Let me try again (cough, cough)
Um,
Oh yeah - ok.
So after the Great Inflation,
The Chinese 'SuperNova' will invade into Siberia (north of China proper) for more Resources to consume uncontrollably.
Russia and China will go to War. (former Communist friends, now enemies)
Former Soviet Satelite nations will take advantage and harass Russia to their own agendas.
Karelia via St Petersburg will become a new nation and join the Scandinavian nations.
Russia will call to USA for help.
North Korea will aid China (Mongolia will be a false Neutrality) and takes South Korea. 'Korea' then attacks USA property, thus bringing the USA into conflict after a very long delay.
USA & Russia become allies (former enemies become friends)
With USA distracted, Islam finally unites to unleash its final Holy Jihad against Europe.
Alas, this 'Jihad' is really nothing more than an immense 'Riot' through Europe with occassional bombings. It is France that suffers the most tragedy, while Islam stays well clear of the Balkans.
Israel takes full advantage of a preoccupied Islam and extends its territory.
The Moslems will do to the French what the Germans did to the Jews.
South Asian nations will steal southern territory from China, but Tibet falls further into identity oblivion.

Australia sends its complimentary Mercenaries, I mean ANZACS to fight overseas.
Papua New Guinea and Indonesia go to War due to Irian Jaya. Timor, Solomon Is, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Fed of Micronesia join Papua New Guinea.
Fiji takes the role of Referee or Umpire and eventually calls a halt to the war and intervenes, just before Indonesia is annihilated upon the steps of Malaysia.
Pakistan and India go to War and this war is a true reminder of what could have happened via the USSR/USA conflict a while back.
Sadly, neither nation could afford the special Polaris system of nullifying any incoming Nulcear weapons.
(ThunderDome: A great Aussie invention of 'defensive' warfare, made in Adelaide)
Australia becomes a Republic via a shattering of the Federal empowerment into many peices known as Independents.
These Independents go on to represent the Provincials - these Provincials take matters into their own hands and a few 'Riftwars' ensure upon Australian Soil
The Australian Flag has changed ...as has the name of the nation. No longer Australia or South Land (Latin).
Maybe it is Aurora?

Anyway,
as you can see - it is all pretty boring stuff.
Even when you get to World War 5 where the Moslems and Jews UNITE to get at the Italians (do you reckon the Azurri will take a dive?).

‘Pre-Crime’ Reaches Number 1 Google Trend Spot

Matt Ryan
Infowars.com
August 24, 2010

Steve Watson’s incredible article about the use of pre-crime technology was picked up by large news sites such as the Drudge Report and others. In the article, Steve covers the recent developments that law enforcement agencies in Washington D.C. have begun to use technology that they say can predict when crimes will be committed and who will commit them, before they actually happen. While this technology may sound appealing to some, the reality of the project is anything but.
Alex Jones has asked listeners to google the phrase “pre-crime” which takes you to the story. So many of you responded that the search term appeared on Google Trends as the hottest topic. This is the 18th time we have reached the top three with a search term given out by Alex.

Pre-Crime Technology To Be Used In Washington D.C.

Steve Watson
Infowars.net
Tuesday, Aug 24th, 2010

Law enforcement agencies in Washington D.C. have begun to use technology that they say can predict when crimes will be committed and who will commit them, before they actually happen.
The Minority Report like pre-crime software has been developed by Richard Berk, a professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
Previous incarnations of the software, already being used in Baltimore and Philadelphia were limited to predictions of murders by and among parolees and offenders on probation.
According to a report by ABC News, however, the latest version, to be implemented in Washington D.C., can predict other future crimes as well.
“When a person goes on probation or parole they are supervised by an officer. The question that officer has to answer is ‘what level of supervision do you provide?’” Berk told ABC News, intimating that the program could have a bearing on the length of sentences and/or bail amounts.
The technology sifts through a database of thousands of crimes and uses algorithms and different variables, such as geographical location, criminal records and ages of previous offenders, to come up with predictions of where, when, and how a crime could possibly be committed and by who.
The program operates without any direct evidence that a crime will be committed, it simply takes datasets and computes possibilities.
“People assume that if someone murdered then they will murder in the future,” Berk also states, “But what really matters is what that person did as a young individual. If they committed armed robbery at age 14 that’s a good predictor. If they committed the same crime at age 30, that doesn’t predict very much.”

Israel Takes Control of Lebanon
Posted on 24. Aug, 2010 by Raja Mujtaba in Israel
August 23, 2010 — Israeli intelligence infiltrated throughout Lebanese government

WMR has learned from its Lebanese intelligence sources that the Lebanese government is coming to realize that Israeli intelligence penetration of all political groups in the country is worse than originally believed.
Israel’s Mossad, once content on penetrating the Christian and Druze parties in the country, has now thoroughly infiltrated the top echelons of Sunni and Shi’a parties, as well. Recently, Lebanon charged retired General Fayez Karam, a senior member of retired General Michel Aoun’s Free Patriotic Movement, which is allied with Hezbollah, with spying for Mossad.
Among the political parties penetrated by Israeli intelligence is the Future Movement of Prime Minister Saad Hariri, the son of the former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, who was assassinated by a car bomb in Beirut in 2005. The UN Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) is expected very soon to charge Lebanon’s Hezbollah with the assassination. However, Hezbollah leader Hasan Nasrallah recently announced the group had video evidence from Israeli drones that showed the Israeli Defense Force was tracking Hariri before his assassination.
The STL’s chief prosecutor, Daniel Bellemare of Canada, requested the evidence from Hezbollah. However, WMR has learned that Bellemare is suspected by Lebanese intelligence of having close previous contacts with agents of both the CIA and Mossad. WMR previously reported that Bellemare is suspected to have allowed and introduced into evidence against Hezbollah in the Hariri assassination, doctored cell phone intercepts pointing the “smoking gun” at Hezbollah. It is feared that Bellemare might give Hezbollah’s evidence to Mossad for the Israelis to determine the source of the leak of classified videos.
Mossad is also reported to be grooming a successor to the Lebanese Shi’a political leader Nabih Berri, currently the speaker of the Lebanese parliament. The Mossad operation is being actively supported behind the scenes by Saudi Arabia, a country that is fast becoming one of Israel’s most “open secret” allies in the Middle East.
According to WMR’s sources in Lebanon, one network that Israel and the United States can rely on to support the UN after the expected indictment of Hezbollah for Hariri’s assassination is a Sunni network in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon. It includes a member of the same family as Ziad al-Jarrah, one of the alleged United flight 93 hijackers on September 11, 2001.
Lebanese intelligence has linked the Ziad al-Jarrah, who hailed from the Bekaa Valley, to a Saudi-supported Salafist network that includes “Al-Qaeda” associates that will be used to target Shi’as throughout Lebanon in the wake of the Bellemare charges against Hezbollah. Lebanese intelligence discovered that members of this same Mossad-supported Salafist/Al Qaeda network also targeted top Shi’a leaders in Iraq. WMR has learned that Ziad al-Jarrah was used by the Mossad, the CIA, and Saudi intelligence as a “patsy” in the 9/11 conspiracy, just as similar “patsies” are being used in Iraq and elsewhere to help keep the myth of “Al Qaeda” and Osama bin Laden alive.
The same Salafist/Al Qaeda network in Lebanon, while still in an embryonic stage, was used by Mossad and the CIA to spy on Palestinian groups in Lebanon during the 1980s and 90s, as well as on Syria during its occupation of Lebanon.

SaLuSa 23-August-2010

Dear Ones, let it be said that before you dropped down into the lower vibrations, you were fully aware of your origin as a Spark of God. That was so long ago that it cannot be spoken of in linear terms, as initially you were not in a physical body such as you have now. However, intelligent life forms have been on Earth for millions of years during which the Earth has become a prison planet, where for various reasons souls have been sent to it. As a result you have become quite a mixture of souls, from the unmanageable who exploited the dark energies, to those who have brought the Light with them. What has ensued for millennia of time is constant battles between the dark and Light to control the Earth. Each have had periods when they have been the dominant force, and gradually the Light has emerged as the victor. However, this was not before the dark Ones virtually achieved their plan for total world control, and the slavery of Mankind.

In fact the Light moves in mysterious ways that the dark Ones have not detected. They have no answers when it is present, and cannot handle its powerful energy. At best they try to induce fear and lower the vibrations, but all that does it provide a temporary respite. The Light can transmute the dark, but not the reverse. Therefore every soul that understands the powerful weapon they carry need not fear the dark Ones. When you also apply the Law of Attraction, the Light wins hands down and is drawing immense amounts of Light from around the Universe. The Light is love and if you can maintain your place as a channel for it, you will helping ground it upon Earth. It comes down to how much you can transmute the dark energy, thereby reducing the need for Mother Earth to carry out a major cleansing. You are blessed with freewill, and this is why what you do has a great bearing on how the end times work out. However, it will not in any way alter the resultant victory for the Light.

When you finally learn of your real history, you will understand how the dark Ones have been extremely devious. They have used everything in their power to prevent you coming to the realization of your innate power, and your Source. They have attempted to get you to believe that you are nothing more than your physical body, and rely on them for your survival. Now that so many of you have discovered your spiritual self, and realize that you are immortal they are running scared. It is you who have turned the tables on them, and very soon their power base will completely collapse. Their power has not been in numbers, as in fact the Illuminati are very few but they have amassed extraordinary wealth at your expense. In the physical realms money can buy practically anything from exotic weaponry to an individuals loyalty, and they have done so virtually unchallenged. As you will know by now the financial state of the world is precarious and collapsing, which will take their power base with it. Once they are seriously weakened, through our Allies we shall make our move and ensure that they cannot recover.

The next steps will proceed quite quickly, which will please you all after patiently waiting for what you might call “lift off”. We must disarm the beast, so that they no longer have the ability to interfere with your Ascension. As we often state, that is the most important part of your concluding experience of duality. Indeed, nothing could be more definite or positive as it has been divinely decreed. Do not therefore worry about the outcome, and as much as we know you would like an easy passage whatever you have to endure it will be short lived. If you happen to be at the centre of some of the action, know that you were aware beforehand that you would be there. When it results in hardship please read it as a lesson that had to be learnt, as karma is outworking right up to the final days of this cycle. If you can see it this way, the result will not hit you as hard as it might have done.

Are not these times so challenging that it is clear that humans are being tested to see if they have learnt to be compassionate. There is so much help required right now by those in the poorer regions of the world. The maxim to “treat others as you would yourself” comes to mind, and if you feel as One with all life you will act. In fact people are generally supportive of others in extreme circumstances, and every act of kindness plants creates another point of Light upon Earth. School time on Earth is almost over, and as you have gained strength and awakened to your tasks, so the final days will speed by. At all times we are fully aware of what is taking place, and we are working in many ways to lessen the impact of what is occurring to make your path as smooth as possible.

When we tell you that you have created your own reality, we refer to the period that you have been in the lower vibrations. In the current cycle, the depth was reached in at the beginning of the last century. War became more mechanized and you developed ways of killing masses of souls more quickly. In the Second World War you extended it to those not directly involved in it, and the toll reached unimaginable levels. Since then you have sophisticated weaponry that can devastate areas with almost total loss of life, and the whole world has been at risk.

Fortunately we have been allowed to put a stop to any ambitions of the dark Ones to start a Third World War, It would have had the potential to totally destroy the Earth, and that was not going to be allowed in any circumstances.

You were nevertheless unable to stop what occurred in ancient times, and that was way before your recorded history. Those periods were when Galactic wars were taking place and colonization by the dark Ones extended to Earth. Different civilizations have since come and gone, but left their mark upon Humanity. Earth became a planet that was literally a prison, and it is only the coming of the Light that has lifted you up and released you. Such progress has not been allowed to be wasted or halted at such an important point in your evolution. So here you are now on the verge of experiencing a great change that will cleanse the Earth of the dark energies, in readiness for Ascension.

I am SaLuSa from Sirius, and trust you can understand what a massive step forward you are about to take. We shall all travel the same path, and it will be glowing with the Light of Love from millions of souls completing their journey.

Thank you SaLuSa,

U.S. Weighs Expanded Strikes in Yemen

U.S. officials believe al Qaeda in Yemen is now collaborating more closely with allies in Pakistan and Somalia to plot attacks against the U.S., spurring the prospect that the administration will mount a more intense targeted killing program in Yemen.
Such a move would give the Central Intelligence Agency a far larger role in what has until now been mainly a secret U.S. military campaign against militant targets in Yemen and across the Horn of Africa. It would likely be modeled after the CIA’s covert drone campaign in Pakistan.

10 Practical Steps That You Can Take To Insulate Yourself (At Least Somewhat) From The Coming Economic Collapse

The Economic Collapse
August 26, 2010
Most Americans are still operating under the delusion that this “recession” will end and that the “good times” will return soon, but a growing minority of Americans are starting to realize that things are fundamentally changing and that they better start preparing for what is ahead. These “preppers” come from all over the political spectrum and from every age group.  More than at any other time in modern history, the American people lack faith in the U.S. economic system.  In dozens of previous columns, I have detailed the horrific economic problems that we are now facing in excruciating detail.  Many readers have started to complain that all I do is “scare” people and that I don’t provide any practical solutions.  Well, not everyone can move to Montana and start a llama farm, but hopefully this article will give people some practical steps that they can take to insulate themselves (at least to an extent) from the coming economic collapse.
But before I get into what people need to do, let’s take a minute to understand just how bad things are getting out there.  The economic numbers in the headlines go up and down and it can all be very confusing to most Americans.
However, there are two long-term trends that are very clear and that anyone can understand….
#1) The United States is getting poorer and is bleeding jobs every single month.
#2) The United States is getting into more debt every single month.
When you mention the trade deficit, most Americans roll their eyes and stop listening.  But that is a huge mistake, because the trade deficit is absolutely central to our problems.
Every single month, Americans buy far, far more from the rest of the world than they buy from us.  Every single month tens of billions of dollars more goes out of the country than comes into it.
That means that every single month the United States is getting poorer.
The excess goods and services that we buy from the rest of the world get “consumed” and the rest of the world ends up with more money than when they started.
Each year, hundreds of billions of dollars leave the United States and don’t return.  The transfer of wealth that this represents is astounding.
But not only are we bleeding wealth, we are also bleeding jobs every single month.
The millions of jobs that the U.S. economy is losing to China, India and dozens of third world nations are not going to come back.  Middle class Americans have been placed in direct competition for jobs with workers on the other side of the world who are more than happy to work for little more than slave labor wages.  Until this changes the U.S. economy is going to continue to hemorrhage jobs.
The U.S. government has helped to mask much of this economic bleeding by unprecedented amounts of government spending and debt, but now the U.S. national debt exceeds 13 trillion dollars and is getting worse every single month.  Not only that, but state and local governments all over America are getting into ridiculous amounts of debt.
So, what we have got is a country that gets poorer every single month and loses jobs to other countries every single month and that has accumulated the biggest mountain of debt in the history of the world which also gets worse every single month.
Needless to say, this cannot last indefinitely.  Eventually the whole thing is just going to collapse like a house of cards.
So what can we each individually do to somewhat insulate ourselves from the economic problems that are coming?….
1 - Get Out Of Debt: The old saying, “the borrower is the servant of the lender”, is so incredibly true.  The key to insulating yourself from an economic meltdown is to become as independent as possible, and as long as you are in debt, you simply are not independent.  You don’t want a horde of creditors chasing after you when things really start to get bad out there.

This morning credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s (MHP) said in order for the US to keep its AAA-rating, it is “very important” for Congress to deal with the cascading US Debt. China’s largest credit rating agency Dagong Global Credit Rating Co. was less diplomatic: they simply downgraded the US credit rating to AA.
This, my friends, is only the tip of the iceberg of what will unfold should we choose to kick the proverbial can farther down the road. As you can see in the infographic below, according to the US Treasury we are watching a debt Tsunami come ashore. If we have any pride or patriotism, we’ve got to start dealing with the crisis now before it wipes out generations of wealth:

On May 1, 2003, President George W. Bush landed his plane on an aircraft carrier, and jumped out to proclaim victory in the one-sided war against the Iraqi people. “Mission Accomplished,” read the banner behind him. That the bulk of the killing in this war took place after that date has not dissuaded Bush’s successor from trying to bamboozle Boobus with the electioneering charade that, once again, that awful war is over, and the troops are coming home. Except, of course, the war is not over, and some 50,000 American troops will remain in Iraq to protect corporate-state interests. These soldiers will be redefined from a “combat” to a “transitional” status.

It is to the credit of most Americans that they do not seem to be buying into this latest snake-oil swindle. I vividly recall the end of World War II. I had been at a movie theater in Lincoln, Nebraska, and came out to seemingly tens of th0usands of cheering people crowding the streets. They knew that awful war had come to an end. I did wonder, a few days ago, when the propaganda arm of the present empire made its announcement, how long it would take for the established order to resurrect the worst Hollywood film to ever win a “best picture” Oscar: The Best Years of Our Lives, a 1946 post-war effort in defense of the war system. Over this past weekend, I was in Palo Alto, California, and saw the following theater marquee:

Full-Body Scan Technology Deployed In Street-Roving Vans

As the privacy controversy around full-body security scans begins to simmer, it’s worth noting that courthouses and airport security checkpoints aren’t the only places where backscatter x-ray vision is being deployed. The same technology, capable of seeing through clothes and walls, has also been rolling out on U.S. streets.
American Science & Engineering, a company based in Billerica, Massachusetts, has sold U.S. and foreign government agencies more than 500 backscatter x-ray scanners mounted in vans that can be driven past neighboring vehicles to see their contents, Joe Reiss, a vice president of marketing at the company told me in an interview. While the biggest buyer of AS&E’s machines over the last seven years has been the Department of Defense operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, Reiss says law enforcement agencies have also deployed the vans to search for vehicle-based bombs in the U.S.
“This product is now the largest selling cargo and vehicle inspection system ever,” says Reiss.

The “Arc of Crisis” in Afghanistan: The Safari Club in Action
In 1978, the progressive Taraki government in Afghanistan managed to incur the anger of the United States due to “its egalitarian and collectivist economic policies.”[40] The Afghan government was widely portrayed in the West as “Communist” and thus, a threat to US national security. The government, did, however, undertake friendly policies and engagement with the Soviet Union, but was not a Communist government.
In 1978, as the new government came to power, almost immediately the US began covertly funding rebel groups through the CIA.[41] In 1979, Zbigniew Brzezinski worked closely with his aid from the CIA, Robert Gates (who is currently Secretary of Defense), in shifting President Carter’s Islamic policy. As Brzezinski said in a 1998 interview with a French publication:
According to the official version of history, CIA aid to the Mujahadeen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army invaded Afghanistan, 24 Dec 1979. But the reality, secretly guarded until now, is completely otherwise: Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 that President Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the pro-Soviet regime in Kabul. And that very day, I wrote a note to the president in which I explained to him that in my opinion this aid was going to induce a Soviet military intervention.[42]
Brzezinski elaborated, saying he “Knowingly increased the probability that [the Soviets] would invade,” and he recalled writing to Carter on the day of the Soviet invasion that, “We now have the opportunity of giving to the USSR its Vietnam war. Indeed, for almost 10 years, Moscow had to carry on a war unsupportable by the government, a conflict that brought about the demoralization and finally the breakup of the Soviet empire.” When asked about the repercussions for such support in fostering the rise of Islamic fundamentalism, Brzezinski responded, “What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?”[43]
As author Peter Dale Scott pointed out in, The Road to 9/11:*
For generations in both Afghanistan and the Soviet Muslim Republics the dominant form of Islam had been local and largely Sufi. The decision to work with the Saudi and Pakistani secret services meant that billions of CIA and Saudi dollars would ultimately be spent in programs that would help enhance the globalistic and Wahhabistic jihadism that are associated today with al Qaeda.[44]
Hafizullah Amin, a top official in Taraki’s government, who many believed to be a CIA asset, orchestrated a coup in September of 1979, and “executed Taraki, halted the reforms, and murdered, jailed, or exiled thousands of Taraki supporters as he moved toward establishing a fundamentalist Islamic state. But within two months, he was overthrown by PDP remnants including elements within the military.”[45] The Soviets also intervened in order to replace Amin, who was seen as “unpredictable and extremist” with “the more moderate Barbak Karmal.”[46]
The Soviet invasion thus prompted the US national security establishment to undertake the largest covert operation in history. When Ronald Reagan replaced Jimmy Carter in 1981, the covert assistance to the Afghan Mujahideen not only continued on the path set by Brzezinski but it rapidly accelerated, as did the overall strategy in the “Arc of Crisis.” When Reagan became President, his Vice President became George H.W. Bush, who, as CIA director during the Ford administration, had helped establish the Safari Club intelligence network and the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI) in Pakistan. In the “campaign to aid the Afghan rebels … BCCI clearly emerged as a U.S. intelligence asset,” and CIA Director “Casey began to use the outside – the Saudis, the Pakistanis, BCCI – to run what they couldn’t get through Congress. [BCCI president] Abedi had the money to help,” and the CIA director had “met repeatedly” with the president of BCCI.[47]
Thus, in 1981, Director Casey of the CIA worked with Saudi Prince Turki bin Faisal who ran the Saudi intelligence agency GID, and the Pakistani ISI “to create a foreign legion of jihadi Muslims or so-called Arab Afghans.” This idea had “originated in the elite Safari Club that had been created by French intelligence chief Alexandre de Marenches.”[48]
In 1986, the CIA backed a plan by the Pakistani ISI “to recruit people from around the world to join the Afghan jihad.” Subsequently:
More than 100,000 Islamic militants were trained in Pakistan between 1986 and 1992, in camps overseen by CIA and MI6, with the SAS [British Special Forces] training future al-Qaida and Taliban fighters in bomb-making and other black arts. Their leaders were trained at a CIA camp in Virginia. This was called Operation Cyclone and continued long after the Soviets had withdrawn in 1989.[49]
CIA funding for the operations “was funneled through General Zia and the ISI in Pakistan.”[50] Interestingly, Robert Gates, who previously served as assistant to Brzezinski in the National Security Council, stayed on in the Reagan-Bush administration as executive assistant to CIA director Casey, and who is currently Secretary of Defense.

DARPA working to develop helmets for US Army that control soldiers' brains

THE US Army's mad science department is attempting to engineer helmets that can influence a soldier's brain.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency - otherwise known as DARPA - says it is researching technology that stimulates the brain through implants, allowing it to relieve stress during combat and boost a soldiers' battlefield awareness.

The helmet will transmit what DARPA refers to as "transcranial pulsed ultrasound" waves into a soldiers' brain from an external unit.

The man in charge of developing the technology, Dr William Tyler of the Arizona State University, said the implants "remotely and directly stimulate brain circuits without requiring surgery".

By exerting effects on circuits "deep within the brain", the implants can also make a soldier less susceptible to pain.

Brain implants themselves are not exactly new technology, and are used in severe cases to treat disorders such as depression or Parkinson's disease.

Another form of mind control revealed recently involved introducing magnetic nanoparticles into cell membranes.

However, Dr Tyler's technology does not require surgery and can target areas deep within the brain as small as two millimetres.

Dr Tyler said rather than being invasive, such technology could actually prevent a soldier from incurring irreversible traumatic brain injuries (TBI).

“It’s the metabolic damage, the free radicals and the swelling that are happening in the hours (after a TBI)," he told Wired.

"If you can flick your remote and trigger an immediate intervention, you’d be curbing what might otherwise be lifelong brain damage.”

http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/human-cyborg-chips-in-to-help/story-e6frf7jo-1225847207715

WHEN it comes to turning science fiction into science fact, Prof Kevin Warwick isn't afraid to put his own health on the line.

A world-leading researcher in making computers interact with the human body, the cybernetics expert is known for implanting computer chips under his own skin in the course of his experiments.

"The last implant that I had in my nervous system, there was a chance of losing the use of my hand, so something could have gone seriously wrong," said Prof Warwick, who is known as "the human cyborg".

"I didn't have to have the implant. It was experimental. But I think you don't really get anywhere unless you take on some of those risks."

To the University of Reading researcher, who was in Melbourne to address a major conference on how cybernetics and robotics can help the physically disabled take part in the workforce, it's all in a day's work.

Prof Warwick has:

IMPLANTED a radio transmitter in his arm, which he used to open doors to his office and turn on the lights.

BECAME the first researcher in the world to record a link between the human nervous system and a computer, courtesy of an electrode in his wrist that recorded electrical signals pulsing through his nerves.

INVENTED a biomechanical means of counteracting the effects of Parkinson's disease. When tremors are predicted, an implant at the base of the brain sends a signal to apply a current to stop the shakes before they start.

Prof Warwick said the potential to help sufferers of everything from neurological disorders to physical disabilities lead better lives was what drove his efforts. Ambitions include designing a computer chip implant to overcome the debilitating effects of spinal injury.

"The future is here for (the injured) to control technology from their brain, which means they can potentially do all sorts of jobs," he said.

"The technology is starting to be developed, but the first experiments are only just being carried out. It would be nice if it could be pushed forward a bit more quickly."

Prof Warwick delivered last week's keynote address at the National Employment Services Association Working Communities International Congress.

Global Warming Alarmist Calls For Eco-Gulags To Re-Educate Climate Deniers

Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars.com
September 20, 2010

A Finnish environmentalist guru has gone further than any other global warming alarmist in openly calling for fascism as a necessary step to save the planet from ecological destruction, demanding that climate change deniers be “re-educated” in eco-gulags and that the vast majority of humans be killed with the rest enslaved and controlled by a green police state, with people forcibly sterilized, cars confiscated and travel restricted to members of the elite.
Philosopher Pentti Linkola has built an enthusiastic following of self-described “eco-fascists” receptive to his message that the state should enact draconian measures of “discipline, prohibition, enforcement and oppression” in order to make people comply with environmental dictates.
Linkola’s barbaric and dictatorial philosophy has remained relatively obscure but is now gaining traction as the mask of environmentalism is lifted to unveil its true nature – a justification for 21st century tyranny on a grand scale, characterized by eugenics, sterilization, gulags, police states, and total government control over every aspect of our existence.
Linkola’s doctrine is more extreme, repulsive, and threatening to liberty than anything carried out by history’s worst dictators, Hitler, Stalin and Mao – combined. Indeed, Linkola laments that such monsters didn’t go far enough in wiping out many more millions of people.
Under Linkola’s proposal to save earth from man-made climate change, “only a few million people would work as farmers and fishermen, without modern conveniences such as the automobile.” This system would be enforced by the creation of a “Green Police” who would abandon “the syrup of ethics” that governs human behavior to completely dominate the population.

Buffett to taxpayers: Get over your anger

Bloomberg News

Taxpayer anger against President Barack Obama and Congress is counterproductive because policy makers took measures including deficit spending to stimulate the economy, billionaire investor Warren Buffett told CNBC.
“Sentiment has turned very sour in the last three or four or five months,” the chairman and CEO of Omaha-based Berkshire Hathaway Inc. said in an interview broadcast Thursday.
“I hope we get over it pretty soon, because it’s not productive,’’ Buffett said. “We will come back regardless of how people feel about Washington, but it is not helpful to have people as unhappy as they are about what’s going on in Washington.”

Wayne Madsen & Alex Jones: North Korea Attack Part Of RAND Plan For Total War? 1/2

The exchange of artillery fire between North and South Korea, which the North says was started by South Korea firing shells during a military drill, could act as the catalyst for a huge new conflict that the RAND Corporation has been lobbying for over the past two years.

The clash, which took place on the Yellow Sea border island of Yeonpyeong, killed two South Korean soldiers and wounded 18 others. North Korea has reportedly fired some 200 shells, setting numerous buildings on fire on the island. Both countries have elevated their threat status and are preparing for potential full out warfare.

As we warned two years ago, the military-industrial complex has been yearning for a new conflict since the invasion of Iraq some seven and a half years ago.

Back in October 2008, we reported on how the RAND Corporation was lobbying for a war to be started with a major foreign power in order to stimulate the American economy and prevent a double dip recession.

The RAND Corporation is a notoriously powerful NGO with deep ties to the U.S. military-industrial complex as well as interlocking connections with the Ford, Rockefeller, and Carnegie foundations.

The RAND proposal, which was reported on by Chinese media sources, brazenly urged that a new war could be launched to benefit the economy, but stressed that the target country would have to be a major influential power, and not a smaller country on the scale of Afghanistan or Iraq.

Although at the time RAND considered North Korea on its own to be too small a target, any full scale confrontation between the Koreas would embroil the United States on the side of the South and China on the side of the North. If North Korea were to tap its arsenal of nuclear weapons, the entire international community would quickly rubber stamp a US-led military assault on the rogue nation.

Given the fact that North Korea's nuclear belligerency has its foundations in the best efforts of people like Donald Rumsfeld and the Bush administration, through the AQ Khan weapons trading network, to provide Communist agitator Kim Jong-Il and his hereditary successor with nuclear weapons, the fact that we are now seeing tensions reach boiling point represents a huge opportunity for the US military-industrial complex to manipulate into being the massive war that they have been seeking for years.

2nd Korean War? South admits firing first shells in row with North Korea

RUSSIA TODAY

South Korea has admitted it fired artillery shells that triggered an early morning clash with North Korea. However it says it was part of a military drill and denied it was directed at the North. Earlier Seoul blamed the North for what it called an unprovoked shelling of its island. Pyongyang claimed the South had violated its maritime border during the military drills. Seoul has since threatened its neighbour with what it called 'enormous retaliation'. Russia's foreign ministy said the clashes were unacceptable and called on both sides to show restraint....

China Warns U.S. On Naval Exercises as North Korea Promises Retaliation

Kurt Nimmo
Infowars.com
November 26, 2010
China has warned the United States against engaging in military activity on its coastline.

“We oppose any military act by any party conducted in China’s exclusive economic zone without approval,” China’s Foreign Ministry replied in response to a question about the inclusion of a U.S. Aircraft carrier strike group participating in the joint exercise.
The exclusive economic zone is a maritime zone up to 200 nautical miles from a country’s coast.
It was reported today that Obama would be speaking with his Chinese counterpart Hu Jintao in coming days. China has refused to condemn North Korea’s attack.
The Chinese statement arrives ahead of U.S.-South Korean naval exercises, according to Reuters. Earlier in the week, the Pentagon sent the USS George Washington and four other Navy ships to the Yellow Sea after North Korea shelled South Korean soldiers and civilians in response to South Korean military exercises.
In a statement from the U.S. Navy’s Seventh Fleet, the military exercises are described as a measure to show the United States’ “commitment to regional stability through deterrence.” Joint military exercises with the South Koreans begin on Sunday. North Korea has promised “waves of retaliation” if provoked.
Asian experts and political commentators warn the provocative military exercises near the North Korean and Chinese borders may result in war on the Korean Peninsula. North and South Korea have engaged in heightened saber-rattling since the incident earlier in the week.
On Friday, North Korea engaged in artillery drills within sight of the island bombed last week. The attack killed two soldiers and two civilians. Gen. Walter Sharp, the U.S. commander in South Korea, was on the island touring the damage at the time. “None of the latest rounds hit the South’s territory, and U.S. military officials said Sharp did not even hear the concussions, though residents on other parts of the island panicked and ran back to the air raid shelters where they huddled earlier in the week as white smoke rose from North Korean territory,” reports the Associated Press.
“The situation on the Korean peninsula is inching closer to the brink of war,” a report issued by the North’s official Korean Central News Agency said. Pyongyang’s military “precisely aimed and hit the enemy artillery base” on the island as punishment for South Korean military drills, said a North Korean official, who also warned of a “shower of dreadful fire” in response to the joint U.S.-South Korean exercises. “Gone are the days when verbal warnings are served only.”

North Korea issues chilling warning over US-South Korea war games

NORTH Korea's state media warned today that "no-one can predict the ensuing consequences" if a US carrier group goes ahead with a planned drill with South Korea in the Yellow Sea.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) statement came days after the hardline communist regime sharply heightened regional tensions with an artillery attack that killed two marines and two civilians on a South Korean border island.

The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier the USS George Washington and its battle group plans four days of exercises starting today with a flotilla of South Korean warships in a show of force meant to deter Pyongyang.

The KCNA report labelled the United States “the arch-criminal who orchestrated the recent military clash”, in which South Korea on Tuesday returned artillery fire at the North.

The report repeated Pyongyang's claim that it attacked in response to South Korea conducting a military exercise that lobbed shells into waters that the North regime regards as its own.

North Korea Deploys Missiles, Targets Fighter Jets

November 28, 2010
North Korea upped the ante on Sunday as South Korea and the United States conduct military exercises described as a show of force in response to North Korea’s artillery bombing of South Korea’s Yeonpyeong Island last week.

North Korea’s missiles “appear to be targeting our fighter jets that fly near the Northern Limit Line (NLL),” a source told the Yonhap New Agency. The Soviet-designed SA-2 missile has a range of between 13 and 30 kilometers. “The military is preparing for the possibility of further provocations as the North Korean military has deployed firepower near the NLL and is preparing to fire,” the source said.

Other missiles on the North Korean west coast, such as the Samlet and Silkworm with ranges of up to 95km, have also been put onto launch pads, the source said.
The Hoguk series of exercises that began earlier this month in South Korea include 70,000 South Korean troops. Exercises built around the USS George Washington carrier battle group in the Yellow Sea began Sunday. The Pentagon claims both sets of exercises are built around deterrence and are in response to the sinking of the Cheonan.
In August, the Obama administration used the Cheonan incident as a pretext to impose additional economic sanctions on North Korea. On May 20, South Korea officially blamed North Korea for the sinking of its warship in March. Investigators from Australia, Britain, Sweden and the United States arrived at the conclusion that North Korea sunk the vessel with a torpedo. Investigators said the torpedo was likely of German manufacture.
“There are suspicions that the US Navy SEALS maintains a sampling of European torpedoes for sake of plausible deniability for false flag attacks,” investigative journalist Wayne Madsen wrote in May. “Also, Berlin does not sell torpedoes to North Korea, however, Germany does maintain a close joint submarine and submarine weapons development program with Israel.”

Odd Couple: North Korea & America

On March 26, 2010, the ROKS Cheonan is hit by what appears to be a German-made torpedo, sinks while claiming the lives of 46 South Korean sailors. The world, America at the lead, was quick to point its finger at North Korea before South Korea itself ruled them out as a suspect. North Korea adamantly insisted it was not behind the attack, and despite their paranoid and isolated posture little beyond insanity could serve as a motive.

Despite evidence adding up otherwise, to no one’s surprise a joint “international” investigation by the US, UK, South Korea, Australia, Canada, and Sweden would later conclude that a North Korean submarine was the culprit, leaving even South Koreans skeptical.
During this period of time, America’s position in Asia Pacific was already waning. Endless war in Central Asia and the Middle East, along with deepening economic crisis in the West allowed other actors to begin eying the seemingly inevitable void soon to be left. Japan under then Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, began reasserting itself over unpopular US military installations scattered throughout the nation. China was continuing to expand its economic and diplomatic influence in the region, luring in even America’s traditional allies like Australia and Thailand.
The sinking of the ROKS Cheonan then “serendipitously” served as a reminder as to why America claims their troops and influence are needed in the region for “peace and security.” The Korean Won tumbled as the US Dollar was temporarily bolstered and Japanese PM Hatoyama not only conceded to US demands regarding US installations, but would also resign over the matter. Literally citing the mysterious, still unsolved sinking of the Cheonan, Washington insisted its need to reassert itself in Asia to counter North Korea, if not for any other reason.
North Korea, either out of shadowy complicity or because of its paranoid predictable nature, became America’s greatest ally in many ways.
November 2010, a similar scenario is playing out after the recent artillery exchange between North and South Korea which claimed several lives. America was again bolstered in its highly tenuous position not only in Asia as a whole, but on the Korean Peninsula itself, having been rebuffed on the US-Korean FTA and facing the possibility of US banking interests meeting with Tobin taxes in the Korean markets.
South Korean leadership now admits they were conducting joint US-Korean live fire exercises close to highly contested waters in the Yellow Sea before the exchange took place. North Korea maintains this incident was intentionally provoked, as was the sinking of the Cheonan, as contrived incidents of opportunity for the waning American empire to reassert itself.

Is this going to escalate out of control?
Should China have "told" the USA to stay out?
Would the USA have sent troops?
Will the USA send troops now after being "told" not to?
And will Australia be asked to support the USA and send troops?

What's this, a repeat of the Spanish inquisition?

King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia has repeatedly urged the United States to attack Iran to destroy its nuclear programme, according to leaked US diplomatic cables that describe how other Arab allies have secretly agitated for military action against Tehran.
The revelations, in secret memos from US embassies across the Middle East, expose behind-the-scenes pressures in the scramble to contain the Islamic Republic, which the US, Arab states and Israel suspect is close to acquiring nuclear weapons. Bombing Iranian nuclear facilities has hitherto been viewed as a desperate last resort that could ignite a far wider war.

The Saudi king was recorded as having "frequently exhorted the US to attack Iran to put an end to its nuclear weapons programme", one cable stated. "He told you [Americans] to cut off the head of the snake," the Saudi ambassador to Washington, Adel al-Jubeir said, according to a report on Abdullah's meeting with the US general David Petraeus in April 2008.
The cables also highlight Israel's anxiety to preserve its regional nuclear monopoly, its readiness to go it alone against Iran – and its unstinting attempts to influence American policy. The defence minister, Ehud Barak, estimated in June 2009 that there was a window of "between six and 18 months from now in which stopping Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons might still be viable". After that, Barak said, "any military solution would result in unacceptable collateral damage."

The leaked US cables also reveal that:

• Officials in Jordan and Bahrain have openly called for Iran's nuclear programme to be stopped by any means, including military.

• Leaders in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt referred to Iran as "evil", an "existential threat" and a power that "is going to take us to war".

• Robert Gates, the US defence secretary, warned in February that if diplomatic efforts failed, "we risk nuclear proliferation in the Middle East, war prompted by an Israeli strike, or both".

• Major General Amos Yadlin, Israeli's military intelligence chief, warned last year: "Israel is not in a position to underestimate Iran and be surprised like the US was on 11 September 2001."

Asked for a response to the statements, state department spokesman PJ Crowley said today it was US policy not to comment on materials, including classified documents, which may have been leaked.

Iran maintains that its atomic programme is designed to supply power stations, not nuclear warheads. After more than a year of deadlock and stalling, a fresh round of talks with the five permanent members of the UN security council plus Germany is due to begin on 5 December.

But in a meeting with Italy's foreign minister earlier this year, Gates said time was running out. If Iran were allowed to develop a nuclear weapon, the US and its allies would face a different world in four to five years, with a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. King Abdullah had warned the Americans that if Iran developed nuclear weapons "everyone in the region would do the same, including Saudi Arabia".

America is not short of allies in its quest to thwart Iran, though some are clearly more enthusiastic than the Obama administration for a definitive solution to Iran's nuclear designs. In one cable, a US diplomat noted how Saudi foreign affairs bureaucrats were moderate in their views on Iran, "but diverge significantly from the more bellicose advice we have gotten from senior Saudi royals".

In a conversation with a US diplomat, King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa of Bahrain "argued forcefully for taking action to terminate their [Iran's] nuclear programme, by whatever means necessary. That programme must be stopped. The danger of letting it go on is greater than the danger of stopping it." Zeid Rifai, then president of the Jordanian senate, told a senior US official: "Bomb Iran, or live with an Iranian bomb. Sanctions, carrots, incentives won't matter."

In talks with US officials, Abu Dhabi crown prince Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed favoured action against Iran, sooner rather than later. "I believe this guy is going to take us to war ... It's a matter of time. Personally, I cannot risk it with a guy like [President Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad. He is young and aggressive."

In another exchange , a senior Saudi official warned that Gulf states may develop nuclear weapons of their own, or permit them to be based in their countries to deter the perceived Iranian threat.

No US ally is keener on military action than Israel, and officials there have repeatedly warned that time is running out. "If the Iranians continue to protect and harden their nuclear sites, it will be more difficult to target and damage them," the US embassy reported Israeli defence officials as saying in November 2009.

There are differing views within Israel. But the US embassy reported: "The IDF [Israeli Defence Force], however, strikes us as more inclined than ever to look toward a military strike, whether launched by Israel or by us, as the only way to destroy or even delay Iran's plans." Preparations for a strike would likely go undetected by Israel's allies or its enemies.

The Israeli prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, told US officials in May last yearthat he and the Egyptian president, Hosni Mubarak, agreed that a nuclear Iran would lead others in the region to develop nuclear weapons, resulting in "the biggest threat to non-proliferation efforts since the Cuban missile crisis".

I also believe we need to do something about Iran.

We cannot allow Iran to continue to hold nuclear strik capability.

It directly threatens Israel and stability in an important region.

Sadly and ironically, such action against Iran would probably trigger WWIII...

Whereas doing nothing about Iran will also trigger a war.

Pakistan has had the bomb for a long time, and they are also an Islamic state, albeit not as rat backside crazy as Iran's, but pretty dreadful all the same.

To "DO" something about these places is almost impossible, without provoking a war, crikey, sth korea just killed some odd fish swimming in the ocean, and nth korea wants to blow up the world.
How do you deal with nutters?

They want to be the enemies of liberal democracies.  Very well,  let's treat them like enemies and break off all relations with them: ban doing business with them and ban doing business with anyone who does business with them. Three months and they'd all collapse.

BAGHDAD — The US military in Iraq is trying to prevent soldiers from viewing WikiLeaks documents and has posted a web advisory suggesting they could be breaking the law, a spokeswoman said on Saturday.
The warning, posted Friday, pops up on the US military’s unclassified network, NIPRNet, before soldiers can access news and other websites and tells troops they should not view, download, or forward the secret releases.

“IAW (In accordance with) with DOD (Department of Defence) guidance and USF-I OPSEC (United States Forces-Iraq Operational Security) Hash 10-2, all personnel are to refrain from viewing any of the articles pertaining to WikiLeaks releases on their DOD NIPR system,” the warning reads.

LOL, the forbidden fruit. If the soldiers found out that their own country is aiding and abetting the enemy would they desert?

Hmmm?
Seems the new leader of North Korea is flexing his muscle a bit.
I think China will reign in North Korea from its premature "Guess who's in 'tha House'?!"

...China will lull the West into a falls sense of security by working with them to placate North Korea.
Then after the Great Inflation dies 'down'. China will unleash hell into Siberia for resources and claim back what is rightfully theirs from Russia and its former Soviet venture to merge with the USA across Asia as an "all-white" Northern Hemisphere via a 'cold' war.

Russia and China will go Hammer & Tong (literally) in all out war.
Russia though is a rust-bucket and constantly hampered by former satellite states of the Soviet Union ...China soon takes the advantage and Russia is fighting for survival more than just for a lost Siberia.

Russia calls for USA help.
USA hesitates, still scuttled by the Great Inflation.
North Korea then sees this as a sign of weakness and attacks South Korea and Alaska (by default due to South Korean forces in Alaska).
The USA is brought into the conflict.
Nippon remains neutral but still cops a battering.

The Islamic nations finally unite and throw themselves into Europe.
Giving the Balkans a wide berth, the Moslems do to the French what the Germans did to the Jews.
The IRA are forced to stand up for Eire and come to the aid of the French as warfare is taken 'underground' in a very nasty way.

Israel takes full advantage of a spent Islam and extends its borders considerably. Many Moslem nations come under Israel control.

Pakistan (Bangladesh) and India have a full-on Thermo-Nuclear conflict resulting in the always ill-considered "Holocaust". Much devastation is experienced along with much loss of life. Pandemic diseases erupt out of India.

Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Fed of Micronesia and Vanuatu attack Indonesia with much ferocity and effectiveness. Irian Jaya is liberated to form New Papua. Timor attacks Indonesia. Bali remains neutral. Indonesia is pushed to utter destruction against the Malay borders. Fiji intervenes before New Papua and Malaysia go to war.

Bolivia stands up as the saving grace of the United Nations efforts.

Australia just plays its usual "Mercenary" role for the USA.
