Title: Fair Dinkum!
Post by adelcrow on Jul 28th, 2010 at 4:34pm
Is anyone keeping count of how many times Tony and Julia say "Fair Dinkum"?
I think Tony is way out in front when it comes to uttering this out dated Australianism but Julia is no slouch when it comes to idiot slogans and phrases as well. I cringe everytime one of these low grade phoneys  tries to pretend to be a typical average Aussie from the 1930's.
I'll make a deal with Labor and the Coalition, the party that keeps the phrase "Fair Dinkum" to under 100 from now until the election will get my vote otherwise my vote goes to the Greens  :)
Oops, they  have probably gone past that number while Ive been typing  :)

Abbott can get away with 'fair dinkum' as he is a knockabout bloke, and i'd rather hear him say it 1000 times than hear Rudd pretend to be ocka with ' fair shake of the sauce bottle mate', that was PATHETIC.

:)

Vegetable my point is YOU are the one making the claim, yet we haven’t seen you post a credible link to back it up. Understand now?

=====================

Look. I don't understand what your getting at. What 'claim"!
Yet you accuse me of having bad English.

Yes, I admit , I may drop the plural 's ' or the 'ing'  at the end of a  word whilst commenting . Yes My spelling isn't the best.  But boy , if you can't work around that  ...??

Actually it shows me that you pick at the little easy things to avoid answering the bigger harder  issues in many of the more serious topics. So be it....

I'm sure you will find a mistake in this reply also...go for it !
I actually don’t care. Bigger issues in life mate .

so what claim am I supposed to 'backing up' ? Surely you may not understand my reply anyway , so why ask !

Is it 'Abbott’s speech therapy' idea, ha, if so I don’t think I need to back that up. I say it's pretty obviously that both leaders have had it...

I actually came into the topic to comment that after watching Yes we Canberra on the ABC last night. They showed that BOTH leaders are using the word Fair Dinkum.....

When is Gillard going to stop calling children 'kids'.

I don't have kids,  but I do have three children.

And whilst on the subject it would be nice to hear the Prime Minister saying 'Want To'  and 'Going To'  instead of 'wanna' and 'gunna'.  Her speech is appalling and embarassing.

I have children, but call them kids. It's just Aussie vernacular - hardly offensive.

Her speech is fine - just because it isn't the same as yours, doesn't mean it's wrong.

Not all our ministers and shadow ministers have had a North Shore or Eastern suburbs education.
