Title: How the left has no idea on running a business

Quote:
RESOURCES Minister Martin Ferguson decided it was finally time to admit Labor got it wrong on the super-profits tax.

This came after an hour of copping flak from West Australian mine bosses during a fiery meeting in Perth yesterday.

"I think we can agree that with any proposed changes like this in the future, we must make sure there's a detailed process of consultation," he said with a wry smile, winning applause from some of the 150 mining executives at the breakfast gathering.

But that was about all they could agree on.

The mid-tier and small mining companies remain angry that the Labor government announced the resource super-profits tax in May without any consultation.

In some cases, as chief executives grabbed the microphone to tell Mr Ferguson yesterday, the RSPT had halved their company share prices and caused debt to swell and equity investments to dry up.

As Sandfire Resources chief executive Karl Simich put it, the process was "an absolute debacle"..........

The scary thing is that Gillard might be returned as a result of defusing this issue.

The Asylum seekers issue is not that difficult to fix. We can keep much better control of people who fly into the country, and it's safer from all perspectives.

We just need to persuade refugees to use channels that we can control better.  There will always be refugees.

the insulation fiasco reinforces that the leftys are blind about small businesses.

"lets give everyone $1500 to sign a piece of paper saying they have done work .........."

as idiotc, immature and wasteful thing i have seen.

If you thought the insulation problem was bad, check out the schools building program. That's entertaining.
Probably won't hear about that one before the election though.

I suppose that the irony of that assertion is lost on most right whingers...

For starters, ask Australia's self-employed and other SME's, how they felt about becoming UNPAID tax collectors and remitters, as a result of the Howard Govt's oxymoronic 'New Simplified Tax System'...

Then ask Australia's largest corporations, how they felt about being hit with a tax slug, to pay for Abbott's 6 month paid Maternity Leave WEALTHfare scam...

Try to justify the Howardian legacy, of escalating skills shortages, due to the chronic failure to properly fund public education and vocational training of home-grown Aussies - whilst promoting education of FOREIGN students as our second largest export industry - and facilitating the importing record numbers of FOREIGN workers...

Oh, and keep spinning the 'record low interest rates' voodoo economics crap - whilst trying to claim that the Howardian Libs were responsible for the record growth of the past decade or so...
