The closest I have come to whale meat was the last time I went spearing off Swansea heads. I ventured out over the deap, then got freaked out by what appeared to be the seafloor rising towards me, which in shallower water means a big wave. Then I saw the white bits outlining the pec fin. It was a humback. It swam up towards the surface right beside me, followed by a calf. The vis was really great and it was close by, but it was still not possible to see the whole thing at once. It's like in star wars or red dwarf when the space ship goes slowly by at high speed.

I'd imagine for the same cost locally you could travel to Japan and chow down on as much as you like.

I believe that a 4 ton vagina works wonders.

In the 60's we used Whale oil in berley, it worked a treat.
I cant remember when it was banned but I think it may have been the early 70's  :)
