Title: Atheist anthem(singalong with moz) Post by mozzaok on Nov 13th, 2009 at 12:07pm
Welcome Ephestion, we needed another extremist christian here, lmao.
Thank god for Jesus, or is it pronounced more like?, "Hey Zeus!"?? stop throwing lightning bolts at me ya mongrel" On that note I could add, for the benefit of truth seekers, that I have incontravertible proof that god does not exist, by dint of the fact I have yet to be struck by a single bolt from the blue, in spite of my continued derision of all religions' "god" figurehead delusions. I see you are skeptical, so I shall provide the proof, here, and now. Pray for me now, I am performing this trick without the net of a promised afterlife. Allah does not exist, and mohammed was a dirty old man! Still here. Jesus was most likely not even a real human being, but more likely a fictional creation of writers from the first century. Still here. If the god of the bible did exist, I would spit in his face for the disgustingly violent, homophobic, child murdering bastard that he was. Still here. Buddha was a happy looking fellow, but his self control is in serious question if he would be first pick for the biggest loser competition. Still here. Ra the sun god is a prick, I got sunburned the other day, he is a malignant bastard, and those spots on my back probably are too. Still here. Hinduism, well take your pick, this years funniest looking god award goes to????? India, hooray! Step up Ganesha to accept your prize, you can put it in the trunk, lol. Still here. So there you go Ephestrion, your god was no more able to smite me than allah, or ra, he is a p1ss weak god too it seems, so next time you are picking on someone elses god, don't forget, yours also failed the mozzaok, " I dare you to smite me" test. I will finish with a little anti-deity ditty, to the tune of "Love Hurts". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2BjJbKQkgc (in case you are unfamiliar with this slice of classic/fossil rock) ------------------------------------------------------------- God Sux, God's cruel, God's mean, and fools, any mind, too weak, real truth, to seek he makes a lot of pain, makes a lot of pain, God is like a bug, gnawing at your brain God sux Oooooh Oohooh Ooh God sux It's true I know But even so I know it's strange to you You can't believe it's true You need to learn a lot need to learn a lot Hell is not real flames that burn you 'cos they're hot God sux Oooooh Oohooh Ooh God sux A real god would be happiness, blissfullness, togetherness Your God don't mean none of this, So he's not fooling me I know it isn't true, know it isn't true, God is just a lie, and it's deceiving you God sux Oooooh Oohooh Ooh God sux Oooooh Oohooh Ooh God sux (funky guitar solo, a bit of "devil" rock 'n' roll, lol) I know it isn't true, know it isn't true, God is just a lie, and it's deceiving you God sux Oooooh Oohooh Ooh God sux Oooooh Oohooh Ooh God sux --------------------------------------------------------------- Finis Apologies to Nazareth, an ironic twist of a name for the band that produced the inspiration for my atheist anthem, lol. Just for the record, I do have a personal god, me, lmao, but it is true, we are all our own deities if we only choose to recognise it, but the real external, intangible that I tips me hat to is love, pure and simple, it is the alpha and omega, it is the be all, and end all, of the discussion, all else is superfluous details. |

We are all starting to gang up on you moz!! All two of us! Be afraid, be very afraid. hehe p.s. moz, i do not know Ephestion. p.p.s. you think that God is evil, because...... .....because of what God allows men to do to each other? Q. why not blame men, for the evil they do??? |
Title: Re: Atheist anthem(singalong with moz) Post by mozzaok on Nov 13th, 2009 at 12:37pm
Of course I don't think god is evil, mainly because I don't think any god, in the vein of traditional relgions' gods, even exists.
I do think religion is evil, because of the effect it has on so many, that allows them to legitimise their foul deeds as somehow doing god's will, or work. I hope you sang the song, it is quite catchy once you get the right rhythm going. |

This is intended to be mostly tounge-in-cheek:
So basically what you are saying is that God (any god) exists, and that it sux? Do you include my African wooden God in that category? - because it exists and I think it's rather spiffing. It's clearly not an object that sux ;) - but I can't see how something is capable of suxing (?) if it doesn't exist. ;D Muso's First Law: An object that sux, must exist. You need to convince me. I'll tell you what you can do. You just have to win a Sheepdog Trials competition using a group of highly trained cats instead of dogs. The day you win that competition will be the day that you will get more that two atheists to sing the same anthem or hold the same opinion LOL. That will also be the day that atheism becomes an official religion. ;D |

A dictionary defines religion as, religion = = 1 the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods. Ø a particular system of faith and worship. 2 a pursuit or interest followed with devotion. Some people regard the word 'religion' as defining the way we choose to live, because of the life values we hold. Our life values must 'guide' / influence, all of the choices we will make in life. Whether you believe in a god, or, not. This sounds close enough to me. "It is our choices that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." Professor Dumbledore to Harry. No doubt, because you believe that the act is satisfying? Hedonism is not a destination. We can feed our desires [like a beast], or we can seek the satisfaction, indeed the bliss, of a relationship with our creator. Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 1 Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Believe what you will. It is not within my power, to determine what that might be. |

Does it really matter Yadda?
You are just trying to apply hedonism throgh the vehicle of Christianity anyway. It's a load of rot. |

Well if you're going to trivialise things yet again by playing a game of 'pick a dictionary definition', I'd like 2kg of bananas please. This is a forum after all. China 中国 (zhongguo) is generally translated as the Middle Kingdom. It could also be translated as the Central Kingdom or even the Mediocre Kingdom. Clearly the words Central and Middle can mean the same in English but not always. You use a dictionary as a guide, but semantics have the final say. That principle is If I said to my wife "My dear, you look a real vision tonight" then I'd get a different response to saying "My dear, you look a real sight tonight". Consult your dictionary and play 'pick a definition' and the words mean the same, but it's a game that might get you into a lot of trouble. You can even twist the definitions so that a non-religion becomes a religion, especially when you have an unnatural fixation on religion yourself. That could be very lucrative talent in life, especially if you can magically turn 'no food' into food. Can you do tricks with loaves and fishes? It might come with the territory for all I know. - but to turn sense into nonsense, you don't generally use a dictionary. Another Book serves that purpose. |

Or relief from the fear of oblivion. We are all naturally solipsistic and anxious about the inevitability of death. We are all inclined to believe that the universe has us in mind and will make exceptions in our favour. |

Amadd, muso, A. Apparently not. I would guess that many of the atheists on this forum regard human beings as evolved creatures, and therefore, as mere animals. Indeed worms are our sentient equals, i would proffer, is the opinion of at least one poster to this forum. :P So, all of you atheists, just go for it, it is 'a free for all', after all. :P So those of you atheists [category 1] who think that you are sophisticated and cultured 'creatures', can followed that path to oblivion. And those of you atheists [category 2] who are only here for a good time, can behave like beasts, and shag yourself to oblivion. And hey! #2's, why not get some raping and pillaging done too, while you are here [coz we are only here once you know]!! Fair enough??? ;D ;D ;D Dictionary, oblivion = = 1 the state of being unaware of what is happening around one. 2 the state of being forgotten. 3 destruction or extinction. Yadda the :D person. I will still state that i believe, and i think that it can be demonstrated, that what we believe [the beliefs and life values we hold, whether based on 'religious' belief, or, not] effectively direct the majority of the actions and choices we make in our lives. And don't you all think that it is sad though, that because of my beliefs, that i am missing out on so, so much!! LOL ;) ++++++++ Isaiah 1:2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me. Jeremiah 4:22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge. Deuteronomy 32:3 Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God. 4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. 5 They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation. 6 Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee? Psalms 94:12 Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law; 13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked. |

Is it really your religious beliefs that keep you 'missing out'... or other, more mundane, reasons for abstaining? |

:) helian, Abstinence??? :) I didn't miss out. I too, have 'lived a life', where i did whatever i wanted to [to a point!]. I was a wilful person in my youth, but i justified it, i felt that i had to be [to survive!]. I never did anything really, really wicked [...i hope], ....but i was a selfish, thoughtless, person. And with reflection, i looked at myself. Maybe its just that, at a particular point, my conscience got louder? Could God be our conscience ? [Acts 17:27] Does that idea 'fly' for anyone? But also, i have had a few ....in one vision i was taken to a place of [my?] judgement. Where an angel standing beside me explained some of what was unfolding before us [in the vision]. Yet i confess, that i still didn't comprehend the significance of what was unfolding in the vision [...until a day or two later]. I'm obviously 'thick', a slow learner! But i try to 'abstain' now, because i've come to that place, where i can see, that there is merit, In trying to be good, for goodness sake. ++++++ Matthew 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. |
