Title: more environmental circus
Post by tallowood on Jul 9th, 2009 at 7:36am
THE sleepy Southern Highlands hamlet of Bundanoon has voted to ban bottled water, just hours after the New South Wales Government  announced its own H2O boycott.

on top of that

G8 leaders agreed to bear the brunt of steep global cuts in greenhouse gas emissions, calling on a broader bloc of developed countries to reduce pollution by 80 percent by 2050.

How good all that will be without China, India and Russia?

Up to three companies are contracted to supply government departments with bottled water until March 2011 in a contract that industry insiders say is "rock-solid".

In an embarrassing backdown, Premier Nathan Rees has had to concede that his immediate ban on bottled water in government departments is not so immediate.

The only option now they have is to have it but not drink it, giving Nathan Rees quiet win.

As long as they don't get caught drinking other bottled liquids because surely champaign production and transportation is just as bad for environment as water or may be more so.
