Title: Noori al-Maliki on dateline
Post by abu_rashid on Mar 22nd, 2009 at 8:34pm
This guy is just completely out of touch with reality.

The guy is in total denial about the situation in his country.

I'm surprised Negus didn't question him more about it. He just looked ridiculous, completely denying facts like 65% of Iraqi's think of the shoe-thrower as a hero, or that there's still sectarian violence in Iraq.

Looks like the Western-puppet is completely delusional... not looking good for the occupiers. We'd want to at least think they put someone in charge who's in touch with reality... no?

he got a few years jail.
A sentence i thought excessive.

The shoe thrower could have asked an intelligent question, and had it ignored, but by one act of childish petulance, he has immortalised himself amongst the small minded, as some sort of 'David vs Goliath' hero.

The act did serve to highlight the anger and frustration felt by the Iraqis, especially to GW, personally, and that is what we should take from the incident.

As Grendel says, placing someone like Noori Al-Maliki, in charge, is not likely to instil the locals with confidence that real, self determination has arrived, or is even close to arriving.

Yeah, and if an American reporter had thrown a shoe at the Thug In Chief of Iran, you would be on here whinging about how Americans need to show more respect, how disgraceful it is, how we shouldn't be surprised if there were muslim riots now etc etc etc....

You are so transparent Abu.

Nope couldn't care less. Good luck to them if they do.

Like Bush he probably deserves it.

Well, I doubt an American would, because Iran is not occupying America... You kinda overlooked that important little point, didn't you?  ;D

And you are such a clueless ignoramus.

Who is up for a bit of shoe throwing at Sheikh Hilali's next press conference then? Abu gives his blessing.

Actually that is a very good idea, and it would certainly test whether the words of tolerance were real, or merely empty rhetoric, as Hilali is just as big a buffoon as bush, and equally worthy of derision.
I am all for poking fun at these ideologues, from both sides, as they both are at the centre of stirring up the trouble, and enmity between the western, and arab world.

For a group that looks down upon others it sees as il-mannered its the height of hypocrisy to admire the shoe throwing idiot.  No manners anywhere to be seen  Hypocrites!

It would seriously rock to be the shoe thrower at a Sheikh Hilali event. We can tell them Abu Rashid gave us the idea.

Best to use rubber flip flops though, don't want to hurt anyone. Even Hilali.

What, someone after your own heart would be in touch with reality?  Don't be silly.
