Afghans protest civilian deaths

Civilians are increasingly falling victim to US troops in Afghanistan.

Hundreds of Afghans protest against an operation by US-led troops in the troubled southeastern Afghanistan that resulted in four civilian deaths.

Angry protesters threw stones at a NATO convoy passing by the area, sources said. Local television footage showed Afghan men blocking the path of US-led NATO vehicles into the city.

The protesters were angry due to the killing of civilians by US forces on Friday night.

Khost Province Deputy Gov. Tahir Khan Sabari confirmed the raid by US troops in the Shegi village that killed four people and wounded several others.

The US military, however, said the four killed were insurgents linked to the Haqqani network, an associate group of Taliban insurgents.

The mounting number of deaths at the hand of US-led forces has created a rift between the Afghan President, Hamid Karzai and his western supporters.

Karzai has repeatedly lashed out at the US-led forces in Afghanistan over the issue of civilian deaths and their unbearable attitude toward the public and local culture.

It is a war zone.

"Civilians are increasingly falling victim to US troops in Afghanistan."

One could just as legitimately state....

"US troops and Afghanis are increasingly falling victim to 'civilian' combatants."

More from the war zone......

Afghanistan mourns bomb victims
......President Karzai said about 35 people had been killed - most of them children, teachers and MPs - while the provincial governor told the BBC there had been 41 deaths.
......But our correspondent says many questions remain, including that of responsibility.
The Taleban have denied that they carried out the attack, but they and al-Qaeda are the only ones known to use suicide bombs in Afghanistan so far.

...in the words of Islamism's most influential thinker, Sayyid Qutb,

"....the death of those who are killed for the cause of God
gives more impetus to the cause,
which continues to thrive on their blood."

Says it all, doesn't it.  ;D

Talibaan always claim responsibility for their attacks, so if they didn't, one wouldn't assume they didn't commit it. Compare them to the cowardly U.S who always try to spin us some excuse about collateral damage or misguided weapons etc.

"Talibaan always claim responsibility for their attacks..."

Translation.....
'Muslims always tell the truth.'i
"ISLAM IS PEACE"

Justification for 'peaceful' ISLAM murdering 'non-muslims' [apostates], stated within ISLAMIC law texts....

Ibn 'Abbas reported that the Prophet said: "The bare essence of Islam and the basics of the religion are three [acts], upon which Islam has been established. Whoever leaves one of them becomes an unbeliever and his blood may legally be spilled. [The acts are:] Testifying that there is no God except Allah, the obligatory prayers, and the fast of Ramadan."....

Essential translation of text...

"Whoever.....becomes an unbeliever.....his blood may legally be spilled."

abu,

Q.
Why doesn't 'peaceful', 'truthful', 'we have nothing to hide' ISLAM, put that ISLAMIC law quote, on the side of a London bus?

What? NATO convoy is under attack and no civilian get killed.

That makes abu very, very disappointed but maybe taliban will kill few civilians later on and islamic propaganda will blaim the NATO soldiers so abu may feel happy again.
