Title: Classical Music

For me, Classical Music is the most spiritual.

It is totally beautiful, uplifting, releasing, entrapping, gorgeous and pure.

After watching the movie "Shine" I listened to Rachmaninov's 3rd piano concerto. I found this version of it the other day played by Vladimir Horowitz.

Horowitz Plays Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No 3

Rachmaninov himself said that Horowitz's interpretation was the best he'd ever heard... Better even than his own.

Does that include classic rock? ;)

Did you see the Simpsons episode, where Homer and Ned joined up as  bounty hunters, and while on a stakeout together they were discussing what music they liked?

It went like this;

Homer: Well, I like AC/DC!

Flanders: And I like their Christian cover band, AD/BC!
( Ned sings) Kindly deeds, done for free! Kindly deeds, done for free! Kindly deeds, done for free!

Homer and Flanders:(both singing) Kindly deeds and they're done for free! Kindly deeds and they're done for free!

That was Classic.

But if I am being totally honest, I would have to admit to being a bit of a pleb, when it comes to classical music, some, like the "classic", classics, if you like, I naturally like, but I find I rarely really 'Listen' to it, rather than just have it in the background, for ambience.

I mostly find classical music a little boring, except in relatively small doses, but I do agree that much of it is very 'spiritually uplifting'.

But if any culture vultures want to get into some free downloads of the great classical music, I have been told that this site is very good.

helian - was that the "entry" bit to shine ?
that music gave me vertigo feeling. Very offbalance.

mozzaok - classical music is different live.
As poetry is written to be heard, classical music is created to be played.

Some classical music is created for singing, other for dancing.

BTW, have you noticed how classical orchestra conductors swing with their hands? That helps them to stay onbalance.  :)

I love classical didgeridoo like The Sunrise during a sunrise. It is more accurate then John Harrison's 2 clock system to find your longitude in Australian bush.
