British Army fights British jihadists in Afghanistan
.....Interceptions of Taliban communications have shown that British jihadists – some "speaking with West Midlands accents" – are active in Helmand and other parts of southern Afghanistan, according to briefing papers prepared by an official security agency.
The document states that the numbers of young British Muslims, "seemingly committed jihadists", travelling abroad to commit extremist violence has been rising, with Pakistan and Somalia the most frequent destinations.
MI5 has estimated that up to 4,000 British Muslims had travelled to Pakistan and, before the fall of the Taliban, to Afghanistan for military training.

Those are just the very tiny tiny minority of misunderstanders of the true message of Islam, so tiny that they have managed to keep the greatest land army assembled in the planet's history at war for the last 8 years, and so tiny that the enemy force of misunderstanders has managed to stay armed, re-supplied, and loaded up for those 8 years too.

But a very, very tiny tiny minority still.

They are the guests of a MUSLIM government. Elected by the people. The people fighting them, just want power. The Northern Alliance, while I disagree with their aims and goals, they aren't here in the Dar al Harb, and don't seem to be promoting jihad in the Dar al Harb - and they have kept their part of the bargain with the infidel. I think that was mostly Massoud's influence, who though no longer with us, was an honorable man.

So don't conflate the Taliban with 'all muslims' in Afghanistan. A lot of the locals HATE the Taliban because of their oppressive ways, but they are scared and the Coalition and the Afghan govt cant be everywhere. I have spoken to soldiers who have said that the locals say, we hate the Taliban, and we want to help you..but who helps us when you are gone and the Taliban are not?

And yes the Taliban are the bad guys. They were massacring people, their own people, long before the US got there. The US doesnt indiscriminately and deliberately kill civilians. It takes great pains to AVOID killing civilians, whereas the Taliban take great pains to kill as many civilians as possible.

If you want to go and support the Taliban Abu, go join them. It really would be a good use of my tax dollars to see you taken out with some Australian ordnance.

They killing taliban. Taliban are not innocent civilians. Taliban are despicable terrorists and human rights abusers. Those who support taliban have no place in civilised countries like Britain or USA or Australia. They should be left in Afghanistan dead. That is the will of allah.  ;)

You idiot. The Taliban have been there long before anyone invaded. The Taliban invaded themselves, and came from Pakistan mostly.

The ignorance of a dude in mall security is of a magnitude to be reckoned with. Pick up a book and get at least some clue concerning what you are talking about. Who do you think the Northern Alliance were? US soldiers dressed in turbans? Lord have Mercy, deliver us from manifest stupidity of every kind.

Do you think that Mohammed needed US foreign policy to rampage around teh middle east more than 1000 years ago? Or any of the other muslims after him? Do you think they needed US foreign policy to invade Spain, France, the Byzantine Empire, Syria, Nigeria, Turkey, Austria?

You don't get it. The Taliban are just doing what Islam commands them to do, install sharia law, kill all the infidels. that has been going on for more than 1000 years. And its an article of faith, not some resistance measure against US foreign policy. They dont care what US policy is - the US are infidels and have to die and live under sharia law.

The Taliaban kill anyone who stands in the way, even their own countrymen and fellow Muslims, anyone who is not on the same page as them dies or keeps quiet about it. Mr Profit is like a lot of people who use history that suits them and ignores the rest.
