Title: women 'choose' the veil in the middle east

"Yes you are a kafir, this word means "one who covers over", as you do indeed cover over the truth that your Lord is one and not three, or that he is far above producing offspring. This word is not a sign of disrespect, it is just a fact about your statements towards God."

Neither "mail box" is a disrespect it is just a fact that ridiculous thingo that islamic women are forced to wear on their heads by violent muslim men does look like mail box.

What a crock...
lol....  talk about religious ignorance.

been over the trinity thing before...   ::)
What about people who don't believe in the trinity... oh well they believe in Christ being the Son of God...  oh right so why is that a "bad" thing?  he is far above producing offspring.   He is far above producing offspring?  HE. whom created the Universe and everything in it.

It's always comes down to "SEX" with the Muslims....
Not that they even got that right in this instance.

"Watch it, one day you'll get banned. " (c) soren

Yes, that's the abu's little jihad

"allah ban, ban. allah delete, delete"
Of course this applies to non muslims only because it does not matter how despicable muslim "creatures" are muslim moderator never ever will ban or criticise them", which is a good example of islamic "fair go" concept.

Was it really necessary to delete the article about Muslims throwing acid in the face of women who do not freely choose to wear the appropriate clothes?

The article used offensive and derogatory terms to refer to Muslim women. It's quite ironic that you claim to be sticking up for their human rights, by mocking and using offensive terms to refer to them.

Don't you think it kinda rips any trace of sincerity out of your supposed concern for them?

Hmmm, that's odd. I don't remember that. Here is the article:

Gaza women warned of immodesty

http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1164881802888&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

A hitherto unknown group calling itself the Just Swords of Islam issued a warning to Palestinian women in the Gaza Strip over the weekend that they must wear the hijab or face being targeted by the group's members.

Slideshow: Pictures of the week In pamphlets distributed in various parts of the Gaza Strip, the group also claimed responsibility for attacks on 12 Internet cafes over the past few days.

The warning was directed primarily against female students in a number of universities and colleges who do not cover their heads in line with Islamic tradition.

The group said its followers last week threw acid at the face of a young woman who was dressed "immodestly" in the center of Gaza City. They also destroyed a car belonging to a young man who was playing his radio tape too loudly.

Addressing female students, the group said: "We will have no mercy on any woman who violates the traditions of Islam and who also hang out in Internet cafes."

According to the group, its members used rocket-propelled grenades to attack 12 Internet cafes and a number of music shops in different parts of the Gaza Strip.

It said the places were targeted because they
were "distracting an entire generation of Palestinians from their duty to worship [Alla] and jihad so that they could serve their Zionist masters and the Crusaders."

Hamas officials denied any connection to the group, noting that their movement does not resort to methods of "intimidation and terror" against the people.

Palestinians in the Gaza Strip reacted with mixed feelings to the group's threats. While many seemed to support the demand that all women wear the hijab, others expressed fear that the group was trying to create a Taliban-style regime.

Mixed feelings indeed. It's a shame none of those feelings centred on the fundamental right of women to choose what to wear, or that there should be no compulsion in religion.

"Don't you think that when sex is so restricted - it encourages deviousness by young males, particularly those who have recently come to live in a western country and are used to girls and women being fully covered.

They see our beautiful young girls wearing their mini skirts, laughing and flirting with young men and know if they do the same, they will be ostracised by their family and the Mufti.  Wouldn't this prohibition encourage young men predisposed to violence to take these young women by force?

I know this happens regardless of your colour or creed in any society - but being a Muslim is no guarantee of good behaviour, particularly when it comes to a frustrated male who knows he has to wait until he's married before he touches a female." (c) mantra

It is very interesting observation but I thing there is more to the reason why muslim population of prisons disproportionately  higher then that of other groups.

Not only young muslims are sexually frustrated but they also are often encouraged to be violent by some of the islamic clerics.

The worst crime is that the whole society is not up in arms about these nutjobs, and that they have not been caught, convicted and jailed.
The Hamas regime do not seem to even offer any prospect of trying to stop them, or dispense justice on the people responsible for the attacks.

There's a show on tonight at 9.30 on Channel 7 - I don't know if it's on in Victoria, but it's called Oz Gangs.  It's about Lebanese gangs and rackets running rampant in our society.

It would be interesting to see whether these men are Christians or Muslims - my bet is that they call themselves Christians.

Poor old melbourne, we do not attract gangs in the same way that sydney does.

Mind you, we have a small amount of trouble with small ethnic gangs, but nowhere near the scale that appears to be happening north of the border.

Mind you, we used to have lots of gangs, and lots of gang violence in the old days, when they used to form allegiances based on what suburbs they were from.

My dad was in a gang in collingwood, back in the 1930's, so I tend to smile when I hear the real oldies talking about how their never used to be any violence in the good old days.

Haha - you could hardly compare gang violence in the 30's to what we see today.  Even until a couple of decades ago - boys used their fists - not knives and guns.

I suppose we have American TV to thank for that.

Victoria has had a lot of corruption over the years involving good ol' Aussie blokes involved in drug imports ie Underbelly, but NSW has been hit by the Lebanese car rebirthing rackets, although the new Underbelly that's now showing portrays Italians as being the biggest racketeers of all.  My maternal family had a rice farm in Griffith and I was staying there around the time Donald Mackay was killed. The place was over-run with Italians and they were detested as much as Muslims are today - probably more so.

Indeed. They will take to the streets when it comes to something trivial like a Dhimmi on the other side of the world drawing a cartoon that mocks Muhammed, but even Abu dismisses this as 'just' another crime. It's like Muslims cannot even see that this is an attack on liberty.
