Easel - it sounds like you are confused.  Have you considered gender identity counselling?  

Sexual orientation is about how you relate sexually to others whereas gender is about how you identify yourself. These are quite separate issues but they can easily become tangled together for someone who is gender dysphoric.

Here's the thing with this gender identity issues.

I tell people, including professionals, that I feel I should be a lesbian and I feel I act like a girl.

I am constantly assured I am very blokey and hardly effeminate in personality and that I am not feminine at all.

You have a feminine style of writing.  I was watching true crime stories the other night and there was this pretty girl who always dressed as a boy, looked like a pretty boy and fooled a lot of people - even males, although she was only interested in girls. Much to her mother's disgust she was a tomboy and refused to wear dresses or makeup.

She'd bind her chest and always wear a T-shirt under a baggy shirt and got away with it for a couple of years until she stole some violent bloke's girlfriend.  When he eventually found out his g/f had been stolen by a girl - he ended up murdering this girl/boy.

It was quite a sad story.  Girls were very attracted to her and she was clever sexually and most of them didn't find out, but even when they did - they'd believe her story of being a male in a female body, which I believe she was.

I'm surprised you started this thread worrying or feeling uncomfortable about dressing up as a female?  Some straight men enjoy dressing up in feminine clothing - so it's not uncommon.

That's what I thought.  Her features are too coarse, but then most transexuals don't succeed in looking feminine no matter how many operations or hormones they have.
