I have received a fax stating some parts of the letter that Australian Muslim cleric, Sheikh Haron, to the father of Gregory Michael Sher, an Australian Jewish soldier who was killed in Afghanistan on January 2009. The copy of the letter has been sent to Kevin Rudd, Malcom Turnbull, Joel Fitzgibbon and the Jewish community.

Some parts of the letter says: "Moses (peace be upon him) was sent by God to clean the hearts of human beings not to make such a dirty animal. Some Jews who blameHitler for violation of human rights are not much better than him.
... we must not respect the body, such a dirty body does not deserve a respectful ceremony. If an Australian murderer deserves respect why not a German killer? ... If a wild animal like wolf kills your son will you attend a ceremony to respect the body of the animal? ... Some people don't eat the meat of pig but they are dirtier than pig. What's the point if some people don't eat pork while their behaviour is worse than dirty animals? Why should we call pig, a hero? ... Why should we respect the body of an Australian soldier ... ?
Today the political mafia changes the real meaning of the words. Sometimes the word "hero" is used for a murderer and the word "terrorist" is used for a self defender. The media mafia accordingly plays with words and by twisting and exaggerating it does not give chance to people to find the truth.
Dear Mr. Sher, we should teach our kids to behave like a human being, not like a wild animal. We should not allow our children to become less than wild animals. ... In that moment that a Jewish soldier shot ... I wish I knew whether it was for religious revenge or for just having personal enjoyment of murdering?
... I don't like the dirty body of a pig to be called a hero ...
