I was renting for 5 years, just moved into wifes house.
Not sure on this garden though. Might not be putting fruit in it.
There are fuit bats in the area and I dont want to encourage them over our way.
Might be herbs, root veges and flowers ??

Yes, herbs are a definite except for corriendar, I'm with muso on that one. No parsley either. But lots of basil and rosemary, chives and mint.

Maybe some root veges but don't know. Have to do some research. Maybe potatoes and onions. Lots of tomato and lettece though, and probably spinach which my wife loves but I hate.

Fruit I definitely want. Again have to do some research but will definitely go lemon and lime tree, for the Thai and fish recipes, and some of the pygmy trees that grow things like plums and berries.

Strawberries a must as well as watermelon.

Nothing beats fresh lime leaves for Thai food. Just corrugate and thinly slice them. Add them to pad thai or tom ka goong (or whatever) for added excitement for the taste buds.

One restaurant I went to in Central Queensland used dried lime leaves and they were tasteless. The next time, I brought my own (probably rude) and requested no lime leaves.

Coriander seeds are ok, but not the leaves.

What time of year do you plant the tomatoes? I generally sow them around April.

Pad Thai noodles, definitely my favourite Thai dish. Lime leaves yes, but not very much. I find them a little too acidic for me. My wife has to order her Thai food without bamboo as it will make her ill for weeks on end.

I will grow chilli as well, but I like my food quite mild for heat. If it is too hot I can't taste the food, which is why I made it in the first place.

I just wish we could have a chook house or something. I know noise is an issue as well as smell etc but I will check the bi-laws. Maybe some quail. Of course I would have to slaughter them when the wife is not home, she won't eat them either.

When is someone going to come up with the terran prawn...........and don't say grasshopper.
