This is mainly for Yadda, but anyone who is interested also, take note.
We already established the KJV of the Bible has the OT altered to make it identical in order and books to the Talmud, the Catholic version is more closer to what the original Christians used, more books, different order etc, and the Orthodox ones are the closest yet, with the Psalm 151 included. I was flicking through TNJB just now and got to the book of Daniel. There is a slight introduction to it. It goes on about how there is chapter 13 and 14, which are later editions, which only exist in the Greek version of the Bible, not the original Hebrew, though 2:4-7:28 were only in Aramaic. There are also additions to ch3 which were in Greek which have been included in this version. I'm not sure if this version of the Bible is like the Catholic Bibles of old, and whether they had Daniel 13 and 14, but either way, better than a KJV. More information contained in it. The KJV and the NWT of the HS don't have these chapters. |

Here is some data on Dead Sea Scrolls.

Here is the frequency of books found among DSS Quote:
Here is the link to wiki with above info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Sea_Scrolls I hope it will help to clarify the issue but will not hold my breath about it. :) I also have hardcover predigital books with original photos and translations of DSS by Rollan Devo back from 1964 but it is too hard and time consuming to digitise them on my own. Good luck and I will be watching this tread. |

What's the go with the Gospel of Thomas, and other such books, not included in the Bible, found a couple of years before the DSS?

Actually some fragments of it were discovered in 1897, which is decades before DSS but scholars can't agree when they were originated because of the nature of GT, anything from 50ce to 200ce, which is later then DSS. Also Jesus of Thomas seems to be more like Greek Gnostic then Jewish preacher.
